We had a great stay! The place was so nice we have stayed here the last 2 times we have been on vacation and hoping to make it a yearly visit. The host were very kind and responsive in text. The beach was really close and the pool was nice with bathrooms! Big plus! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to stay. Also the alligator in the lake was so cool to see!

Great location!

My son and I came for the weekend and it was wonderful. The location was perfect, easy check in, the beach was right across the road, putt putt golf and many restaurants right there in walking distance, and the alligator was definitely a plus! We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

After Christmas Getaway

Great Location

Love Romar Lakes Condos. Great location. Hosts are easily accessible if needed. Condo is well stocked. Lake Shelby right out back door, literally, with beautiful and peaceful view. We will be back.

Beautiful location!!

Our backyard was lovely pond type setting complete with alligator! Fishing was great. Ocean across the street, short walk. Quiet setting. Beautiful pool. Biking and golfing everyday and short distances to get there. Lots of restaurants and churches! Definitely coming back!! Very comfortable!!

I loved the property and the easy access. I’m definitely staying here again. The only problem was the pool water was hot. Not sure if it was a heated pool or not but that’s it. Other than that I throughly enjoyed my stay and the amenities that were provided.

Decent Place

The unit was worn, but a good location. Rooms were big. There were holes in the walls, and was very basic. Not well stocked with plates, utensils, pots, and pans and that made cooking and eating in more challenging. There were only two pillows on the king size bed, and the additional pillows in the closet had stuffing coming out of them. We had issues with checking in since the online contract could not be submitted. We had to call three or four times and spent over an hour on the phone trying to get the issue resolved. Once resolved, we were able to check in 15 minutes early since the unit was ready.

Overall as expected

The condo was spacious and nice - as advertised in the pictures. While the cleanliness was decent - there were some stains on the sheets and the floor could have used a better sweeping before we arrived. The back porch was delightful, allowing us to watch the surroundings while drinking coffee in the morning. Although we knew the condo was across the street from the beach access - the walk was a bit more of a distance than expected. However, to drive to beach access was only a mile or two down the road, so ultimately not a big deal for us. We made use of the pool practically everyday- that being the highlight for my kids. The pool was clean and well kept - no complaints there. Overall a great place to stay, and in our top three of places we’ve stayed in the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area.

Enjoyed but improvement needed

Let me start by saying we enjoyed our trip. Communication was good throughout the entire process, location to the beach and the beach itself was great and the grounds and pool area clean and nicely manicured. As far as the unit itself it could use some attention. A deep cleaning would be a good start, particularly the baseboards and floors. There were 1/2 dozen light bulbs burned out, and cookware could be replaced. Some of the furnishings and decor are dated and a once through to remove old brackets (particularly in the bathrooms) should be done. While I understand the climate is ripe for a variety of insects, I do believe a treatment by an exterminator would help to eliminate the little mealworms. With this being said I would return to this property if we vacation in the area again.

Nice location. Needs a cleaning.

The location is great and taking the beach access is an easy 5-6 minute walk. There is a beautiful pool and gazebo out back where we seen the alligator and took great photos. Our complaint was the cleanliness. The floors were dirty in the corners and under the cabinets. The stove and oven were very dirty. You can’t see out the windows of the patio through the accumulates dirt on them. The master bathroom had a chunk of used soap stuck on the floor like it’s been mopped over but not picked up. We were never able to get access for a key to the condo. The key box wouldn’t open. I did speak with the landlord by text and they had me try 2 other codes but none ever opened the box. So we relied on the door code to get in and out since we had no keys. Alabama is beautiful and so are its beaches. Everyone we spoke to was so friendly and nice to us. I think we may visit again someday but probably stay at a different place next time.

The condo itself was fine, plenty of space for our large family. There was lots of work being done outside that woke us quite early a couple mornings which was frustrating. The sewage issue at the road (that was repaired while we were there) made the air smell like a zoo and made crossing the road a little more difficult. I would most likely give this place another try in the future.
