This cute place was perfect for the two of us: cozy, clean, updated, great location very close to hiking trails and historic church square & bell tower—and best of all for us, we could leave the crowds that congregate by the water and hang out on our balcony, or enjoy the less crowded cafes, shops, and the amazing view from the church square a little further up in the town where this place is. We loved having breakfast and a couple of dinners (pulled together from the local market) on our balcony overlooking the town, and encountering locals in the church square, where one morning there was a pop-up produce stand where we bought fresh strawberries, bread, and almonds. Even in October, the AC was much appreciated after a hike. We also greatly appreciated the first morning’s breakfast (and olive oil) that were provided.
Granted, you will not have a ton of hot water for showers, you may see an ant or two, the church bells might wake you in the morning, and you will need to climb a spiral staircase to use the bathroom (and the packet you get from the hosts is very clear about these kinds of things). But you are in Italy! These things don’t matter! Do take them into consideration if you are a picky traveler who expects all the comforts of your own home, but if you like to travel and experience the way of life of the country and the town you are visiting, you will absolutely enjoy this stay. Five stars from us!
