King-SDB privée avec baignoire-The Hideaway

This heavenly hideout is hidden away in its own totally private garden and ideal for honeymoons. It has a beach hut feel but oozes luxury and vibrant colour from every pore. There is a super king bed with an en-suite bathroom with freestanding slipper bath. Magical, spellbinding, place to bring out the child in you as you sneak off into your private den. Sink into Janie’s joyful velvet cushions, stay a while, read a book, star gaze in our perfectly pitch black skies with a glass of wine or two. You will not want to venture far from here, even for breakfast!

Maybe you are planning to get engaged, a honeymoon, a mini-moon, a wedding or perhaps just an escape.

Evening meals are served in The Shack or The Party Shed. Loaded with twinkly lights, candles and a warming fire. Bring your own booze and make sure you book in advance.

Soak away in the hot tub on the south facing deck for loved-up days and starry-eyed nights.

Breakfasts are served around the huge dining table in the conservatory overlooking the garden.

Perfect Luxury B&B experience

We have stayed a Lower Barns 3 times over the past 8 years and it really is a delightful place. Absolutely perfect for a getaway break. Janie and mike the owners are super friendly but you also have plenty of privacy. The rooms and grounds are immaculate with such attention to detail everywhere you look. This place is a real hidden gem.

Perfect, just what we needed for a night away, luxurious relaxation

Absolutely wonderful, as we are Cornish it was great to only have to travel 1 hour up the road to find the perfect getaway. The bed was luxurious, having our own private outside space was fantastic, a great nights sleep in the silence and comfort. Everything was spotlessly clean. Hot tub was perfect.

Booked a couple of nights at Lower Barns for a romantic getaway and couldn't have been happier. From the second you arrive you are treated wonderfully and our room (the Hideaway) was nothing short of impressive. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to take a break.

What more can we say ......I think our top rating says it all!!

It was a fabulous short break for us. My partner and myself live in the South Hams area but loved exploring along this section of the south west coast line. The accommodation was fabulous and perfect for us. Janie and her husband were the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome and the atmosphere at Lower Barns is nothing but magical. We plan to come back soon, thank you for looking after us!!!

perfect honeymoon...

From start to finish my husband and I loved every second! Our room was perfect...clean,fresh,funky and smelt delicious! We had our own garden and gate which was ideal and we're given our own space which was very kind! Our bed was like sleeping on a cloud and our bath was speechless! I cannot recommend this place enough...lovely staff, perfect location,scrummy breakfast, beautiful wow rooms and so quiet! We can't wait to go back!!!!

The most beautiful escape

We stayed for two nights in the Hideaway at Lower Barns. It was just the most magical of times. The place is incredible, the hosts are just perfect. We needed this break away after a really tough time and we couldn't have picked a better place to escape. We fell in love with the beauty, the charm, the individuality of the place and not to mention the lovely people who run it. You'll be made to feel so welcome but without intrusion. They've got the perfect balance.

Lower Barns is a very special place. Janie and Mike are amazing hosts and put thought into our stay to make it perfect for us. The attention to detail throughout all of Lower Barns is incredible. You cannot help but relax. The food was amazing. Delivered to us in the shack for a romantic candlelit dinner, and in the conservatory for breakfast. Great value for money with the friendliest loveliest hosts. We will definitely be back.

We arrived with a sense of excitement and happiness that we managed to get a room (the Hideaway ... bliss etc) and left happy content and full of inspiration. It's been a pleasure and privilege to share somebody's 'love of work'. Janie and `Mike your hospitality was second to none and you will stay in my pocket of happy memories forever. For anyone looking at this the website it doesn't describe the beauty of this place along with the people who run it.
