Stepping into Bank House, youâll discover a compact yet well-appointed country kitchen with a small dining table, a cosy sitting room with a pair of striking crimson velvet sofas, and a bathroom with shower. The top floor offers two bedrooms with ample storage space to tidy away belongings and a second bathroom with shower.
The proximity of Bank House to all the popular sights of Melrose makes it the ideal base for exploring one of the most delightful towns in the Borders. You can easily saunter to a nearby cafĂ© for breakfast, stroll over to Melrose Abbey, potter around the verdant Priorwood Gardens, and get enjoyably lost in the townâs shops and boutiques.
If you time your visit to coincide with the annual Borders Book Festival, you can meander over to the beautiful National Trust Harmony Gardens in just five minutes. After sundowners in the peaceful courtyard, where guests benefit from dedicated outdoor seating, you can amble to your pick of Melroseâs acclaimed restaurants for dinner, including the celebrated Provender, which is quite literally next door.
For days when you fancy exploring further afield, thereâs a multitude of stately homes and gardens nearby, including Sir Walter Scottâs Abbotswood, Floors Castle and Thirlestane.
