Wedding Weekend Stay

The house was great and we really enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend the the house for a long weekend or week or more stay. The house is located in a very nice development, less than 10 minutes to town and Mount Ellen ski area. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The house was very clean, nicely furnished, private loction and had great views. Best Charlie

Perfect Spot

My husband, four adult children and I rented this property for the weekend of my nephew's wedding. The house was perfect, the view from the deck spectacular. Andree answered all my questions in a timely manner, was polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property and would rent it again if ever in that area.

Bad Service

The property was fine, but dealing with Andree was not worth it! He accused me of bringing my dog inside his home and leaving the place a mess. First of all, I did not allow any dogs in the house and I told him that. I have kids so the bedding was turned up. However, I left the house very clean and I paid a cleaning fee on top of that so I don't see what the problem is. There was a lack of communication somewhere that resulted in him having a bad attitude. I don't recommend staying here!!

Dear Elliot My apologies if you found my attitude disrespectful. We probably do not have the same standards for "very clean", with dirty pots, pans and dishes on counters along with food on the floors. I was simply questioning, not "accusing" the dog factor and the stay of a family of 4. I simply asked to respectfully leave the house in the same condition it was found ! Terrific house with amazing views

We really enjoyed staying at this lovely house. It was warm, inviting and has amazing views. Renee was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. We would definitely book this place again in the future.

Weekend in vermont

This home was spectacular- great views from deck, very roomy inside, well equipped kitchen & island with seating for four. Good water pressure on second floor & ample hot water. Beds & pillows very comfortable. Highly recommend.

Sympathique séjour!

Nous avions bien profité de notre week-end entre amis, sans les enfants. La maison est très confortable et bien équipée et aérée pour une grande famille ou un groupe c'est parfait. La cuisine est agréable pour cuisiner et la vue sur la montagne est incroyable.... Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir. Andrée est une hôte très sympathique et serviable. Le seul problème un peu embêtant, était la route non-pavé et boueuse pour se rendre à la maison (sur 3 km) au printemps et avec la fonte des neiges, il fallait absolument un SUV (VUS) car le chemin était horrible. Tout de même Andrée nous a dépanné et nous avons passé par dessus l'événement. En d'autres saisons, la route doit être plus praticable. Nous recommandons cette location et nous pourrions y retourné!

Great rental on Bragg Hill

It's a great house for a larger group. Beautiful views of Mt. Ellen. Nicely appointed kitchen with everything you need. Would definitely rent it again.

Great location

This house is in a great location to easily get to Sugarbush, Mad River and the quaint towns of Warren and Waitsfield. The driveway and road to the house seemed typical for staying in a ski area. We didn’t have a problem and we did get a snow storm. The house itself was beautiful and cozy. We loved the amazing views! Overall a great place to stay for a family Vermont ski vacation.

Beautiful clean house with awesome views

We had a great time and were very comfortable in Andree's house. There was plenty of space for everyone with cozy places to read, watch tv or chat. Although the road to the house is steep in spots, and the driveway as well, we had no problems getting to and from the house with our car which has AWD. The dirt roads were icy but had been well sanded. Obviously it may be an issue when snow covered or with a different car, but for us everything worked out fine. The views from the house are beautiful. The house was nicely decorated, and bedrooms were clean and comfortable.

if you rent in WINTER you NEED SNOW TIRES OR 4 WHEEL DRIVE!!!

Andree, the owner, is nice enough and very responsive. However, certain key information was withheld in her writeup for her property. THIS HOUSE IS UP A VERY STEEP HILL AND THE DRIVEWAY IS UP ANOTHER STEEP INCLINE. Our minivan could not get up the hill into her driveway. We never had a problem with this minivan driving to ski areas before. There is NO MENTION of this hill and incline in her description of her property. 2 days before the weekend of our expected arrival Andree told us about her steep hill, recommended we have snow tires on our car, and told us about a previous renters inability to get up her driveway without snow tires. 2 days was not enough time to purchase and put snow tires on our car from our mechanic before a holiday week. As a result, WE COULD NOT SAFELY GET TO OR FROM HER HOUSE. So even though the house had the correct number of bedrooms and bathrooms for our family. We were UPSET, TENSE and STRESSED the entire time of our visit. Because of our concern about getting out of her driveway and hill safely before the next expected snowstorm WE CUT OUR RENTAL SHORT. We lasted 2 nights out of 6. Andree has not refunded our money for the nights we were not there. We feel we are due a refund as we had reserved her property during the summer for December. Had we known about the steep hill and driveway situation we would have rented a different place. Andree should mention the steep hill and driveway and the need for snow tires in her ad for her property if one is renting in the winter. People must be able to get safely in and out of her driveway to be able to enjoy her property. Because of the hill and driveway situation, we do not recommend renting this property during the winter unless you have snow tires on your car.

Dear Mrs Goldberg & Mr. Bayes Although the review platform is a great vehicle to share your experience with other guests, it would important and advisable to be factual with your statements. Although this platform is not the place for me to respond to the public about details, it is quite important for me to be factual and state the unfortunate ski injury your son in law suffered on Dec. 25th at Sugarbush Ski Resort, with resulted in the need ( and want ) for surgery in a major city such as Boston or Washington ( thus, your early departure). After consulting with VRBO, it was advised you take action directly with them (VRBO) for re-imbursement ( they offer up to 1M liability insurance for such instances ) . I did share their instructions with you in a private e-mail exchange dated January 11th. I trust I have responded to yourself and Mr. Bayes very promptly, honestly and respectfully. Andrée

Great house!

Loved everything about the house, except the steep driveway - bring your snow tires! The house was well laid out, warm and comfortable, with everything we needed! The owners were also very responsive when we had questions leading up to and even during our stay.

Great guests, I would highly recommend Jim and his group to anyone. They left the house immaculate. Indeed Vermont is ski/backcountry country, hilly and snowy in the winter. Snow tires are a must in New England during winter. Thank you Jim Andrée
