Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Town: Holy Island's Trearddur Bay is located on the island's west coast.
What a gorgeous stretch of low grassy coastline punctuated by rocky coves and fine white sandy beaches it has to offer! (European Blue Flag). During the summer months, watersports, bathing, sailing, and windsurfing are the most popular activities, while golfers can enjoy the Holyhead 18-hole links course. The South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve is well-known for its birdwatching, and there are plenty of rock pools and cliff-top walks to explore. For those looking for a more extensive range of amenities, Holyhead is a short drive away and offers an excellent leisure centre, a marina and the second-longest breakwater in the world, as well as exciting day trips to Dublin via ferry. Visitors to Holyhead's Maritime Museum and Holyhead Breakwater Country Park will appreciate the museum's excellent cafe. Newborough, with its excellent woodlands and beach, and Beaumaris, a town and castle, are both further out.
There's a lot to do and see here!
