QUINTA DAS CYCAS is in a stunning property from the 19th century, in Algarvia, Nordeste municipality. The main house and its agricultural annexes have been converted into four charming lodging units with breathtaking sea and mountain views. Besides having one of the best sunsets of the island, this 5300m2 property offers beautiful gardens and orchards, a lovely infinite pool, a croquet court, a pergola, and contemplation areas that will awaken all your senses.
Private car park with electric gate and a laundry with wash machine and dryer are also available.
One of the outbuildings is O Granel, a nouveau rustic house, filled with romantic
details and a balcony with view to the infinite blue ocean stretching to the horizon. This villa has one bedroom, a living area with wood burning heating system and a full equipped kitchenette, and 1 bathroom. It offers also a private outdoor space with furniture and a barbecue grill.
At the arrival a welcome basket is provided which includes a delicious selection of local produce including bread and homemade jams, milk, coffee, tea, fruit, eggs, butter, cheese, yogurts and basic grocery items.
Also provided are robes and slippers, toiletries, complimentary Wi-Fi, cable TV, DVD player, Hi-Fi, a small library, indoor games, and bicycles.
Designed and prepared for the guests to plan their vacations with no effort whatsoever, Tradiguide is a virtual activity guide that will provide the best tips and suggestions to move around and make the most of your time in Sao Miguel Island. At the check-in, login access and user instructions will be provided to have access to this guide during the entire stay.

Mid-winter stay at Sao Miguel

Cozy home with wood stove at the north-east side of Sao Miguel, pleasantly welcomed by Ricardo on a late Saturday evening. Many hikes possible all over the island, often quite steep and always green! Nice experiences like swimming in natural springs and in the Atlantic on the west side where warmwater sources pour into the cold Atlantic. Weather varying from blue skies to a true storm, temperatures from 13-21 degrees C depending on night/day and mountain top/seaside.

Tradicampo is committed to providing a warm welcome to the Guests, giving them permanent support. If desired, an overview of the island will be presented and many tips will be given about the best way to organize their holidays in the Azores regarding their interests and time availability.

As the house, located in Nordeste district, Sao Miguel island, Azores, was being rebuilt, we actively tried to maintain its architecture, restoring the original structure by using traditional materials and techniques. In addition, some new elements were added aiming to improve the living conditions. These new elements are characterized by aesthetically contemporary options.
The surrounding plots of land have been turned into gardens, where the peace and quiet of the countryside can be enjoyed. In the gardens, a wide range of ornamental plants can be observed. Some of these plants are endemic and some are fruit trees commonly seen in the backyards of Azorean rural stone houses.
For the interior decoration, we used restored traditional Azorean antique furniture together with contemporary objects, in order to obtain high levels of authenticity and comfort.
Our cottage offers you a range of leisure equipment that you can use inside or outside at no additional cost.

Like pearls lost in the ocean, the Islands of the Azores, are located in the North Atlantic, about 1,500 km west of Lisbon. The archipelago is formed by nine volcanic islands and has a total area of approximately 2,333 km2.
On these islands, you will find places of extraordinary tranquility and beauty, where the blue of the sea and of the hydrangeas and the green of the fields and mountains range in hue from one island to another. The crater lakes have a unique beauty and mystical charm, associated with ancient legends. Their museums, churches, and palaces house artistic and historical treasures, and their traditions, popular festivities, handicrafts, and gastronomy are still very much alive, comprising a five-hundred-year-old heritage.
The Nordeste district, in particular, is the best-kept secret on São Miguel Island. Its untouched nature, with a large area of laurel forest, inhabited by the Azores bullfinch, a unique species, and its breathtaking landscapes, with the deep blue sea view.

ACTIVITIES TO EXPERIENCE: As a holiday destination, Sao Miguel island, definitely suits all tastes. Here you will find golf courses surrounded by flowers and lush vegetation, walking trails, where you can observe nature, birds, endemic plants, and volcanic phenomena; cetacean and marine life observation; grey sandy beaches inviting you to spend hours of fun in the sea, which is sometimes calm, and where the waves are often ideal for surfing.
