La Petite Mirabelle, peaceful rural character cottage with pool

A restored stone cottage in the centre of a hamlet of around 12 stone houses, ideally situated for quiet relaxing days in the secluded garden, walking through the surrounding countryside or relaxing by the pool. It is a short 5 mins drive to the cafes and restaurants of the nearby Dordogne town of Riberac. There you will find a lovely town square with fountains, cafes and the bustling Friday morning market, one of the largest in the region. Nearby is the lively market town of Perigueux, with 2 large commercial centres, Bergerac with its vineyards and airport, picturesque Brantome with its Abbey.

La Petite Mirabelle is an old property with entry direct into the open plan sitting room, dining area and fitted, well equipped kitchen. The shower room with shower, WC and wash handbasin is on the ground floor. In a cupboard off the shower room is the washing machine.

Please note a steep staircase with handrail leads to the mezzanine floor with 2 single beds together and a sofa bed (adult) or single bed for a child. This property is therefore not ideal for those with limited mobility.

There is a fully enclosed garden with patio furniture which leads direct from the kitchen. A short walk alongside the rose walkway takes you to the the heated, salt swimming pool. The pool is private with pool furniture provided and has a beautiful view over the valley. Our friendly neighbour recently built a boule terrain and welcomes use by ourselves and our gite guests.

Holiday at La Petite Mirabelle

Wonderful gite, beautifully equipped in a stunning location with pool overlooking the open countryside. Warm welcome from Dawn and Paul, nothing too much trouble. Great place for exploring the surrounding area. Recommend.

2 Night stay

We had a lovely short stay in this beautifully located gite, super quite with lovely walks and just a short 5 minutes drive into the town of Riberac. Accomadatuon had everything required with private enclosed garden. Didn’t really use the kitchen but looked well equipped. Found Dawn to be very welcoming and informative x

Cosy place in a quiet area

Lovely cosy apartment with all amenities (even detergents) present. The gas powered heater is a huge plus in colder weather. The walled garden is very practically if you have a dog with you. The host’s hospitality is wonderful and she is very helpful. Recommended for 2 to 3 people.

Wonderful Stay.

We had the most wonderful stay at La Petite Mirabelle. Paul and Dawn, our hosts went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our holiday to the full - nothing was too much trouble. The gite itself was cosy, exceptionally clean and well equipped. The swimming pool, with its amazing views and excellent cover, was the best we have ever experienced anywhere. We were accompanied by Francesca, our Standard Poodle whose stay was as enjoyable as ours. Luna, the most beautiful Spaniel and her enjoyed many hours playing together. The gite was in a quiet lane amidst beautiful countryside. Riberac which was a ten minute drive was a lovely town with cafes and restaurants, as well as a busy large Friday market. What more was there to wish for? We shall be back.

Information inexacte: la piscine n'est pas sur le terrain, mais chez la propriétaire . Escalier escalier interieur branlat et très raide . Prévenir les futurs locataires

Merci pour votre avis. L'escalier n'a pas posé de problèmes auparavant, mais comme vous le suggérez, je l'ai maintenant noté dans la description de l'annonce. La piscine se trouve à seulement quelques pas du gîte et est privée et à l'usage exclusif de nos hôtes du gîte. J'ai cependant été réconforté que vous ayez noté dans mon livre d'or notre gentillesse et notre hospitalité et que vous ayez beaucoup apprécié votre séjour. C'est vraiment dommage que vous n'ayez pas également ajouté cela à vos commentaires sur le site de VRBO. Cordialement

We are sorry that you felt unable to remain in the gite. It has been rented out for over a year now and this is the first time this issue of smell and mould has been raised. We are already looking into this matter, as you raised it. I cannot agree with your comment about the cleanliness.

Sejour reposant dans un logis de charme

Nos vacances ont été faites de belles promenades et de repos reparateur dans un gîte chaleureux et douillet. Nous avons été très bien reçu avec une surprise gourmande que nous avons bien apprécié. Notre chienne a apprécié elle, le jardin bien clos et arboré. Merci pour votre qualité d'accueil et votre petite Mirabelle (nom du gite) si bien décorée. Bonne continuation à vous 🙂

Paul and I moved to the Dordogne in 2020 after 10 years in the Vosges Mountains, N.E. France, where we successfully welcomed guests into our holiday rental for many years. We know how important holidays are and wish to make your holiday in the Dordogne as happy as possible by providing accommodation that is clean, well-equipped and comfortable. We are here to help and provide information and love a chat if that's what you want. If it's peace, quiet and privacy then we will leave you alone to enjoy the privacy that the gite provides. The garden is private and the gite is not overlooked. From the front door there are plenty of tracks for walking or country lanes for cycling.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

We live in a hamlet of around 12 houses surrounded by fields, woods and working farms. Our swimming pool overlooks the valley below and has the most fantastic view. The setting is private and peaceful, rural but only 4kms from the market town of Riberac with its cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, Friday market, banks, pharmacy etc. In the holiday season there are plenty of activities - sports, brocantes, evening markets with supper and evening walks, music festivals and local open garden days, village fetes and much more. Perigueux, a lively market town is 40 minutes away and Bergerac 1 hour away with its many vineyards and local airport.
