Delightful rural retreat

Enjoyed our stay at The Fold, an excellently fitted out barn conversion in a beautiful country setting and handily on one level. The open plan living and dining area was well equipped and the bedrooms were comfortable. A decent footpath accessed from the house meant we could take the short walk with our dog into Charlbury, with its shops and local pubs. A great find was the Old Shed, a large café in a farm setting which served superb breakfasts and just a short drive up the road. We must thank owners Laura and Jonathan who live nearby and were very friendly and helpful hosts of their lovely self-catering accommodation. Freddy

Comfortabel cottage with good location for day trips

Very nice cottage. It was a great location to enjoy some easy walks on the countryside or take the car and visit some of the nice villages in Coltswold.

We absolutely loved our stay the The Fold. The location is easy to find and very secluded. It was a very peaceful place to stay. The home is clean and comfortable. We'd definitely stay again!

Great base for exploring the Cotswolds

We had a great stay at The Fold, and used it as a base for a week away exploring the Cotswolds. The location is ideal, with a vast range of great walks, pubs and restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive. Accommodation is in good condition, in lovely grounds, and it was great that it was pet friendly Thanks for having us!

Lovely cottage in an ideal location

The cottage was very clean and well presented. The location was perfect for exploring all the Cotswolds have to offer, whilst being away from the main tourist areas providing a very tranquil and relaxing environment. We would stay here again in the future.

Beautiful cottage

The Fold was a beautiful cottage set in lovely surroundings . Close to Charlbury and its shops and pubs . The Fold was nice and private away from the main farmhouse . Easy to access and find and very well furnished and comfortable . Would highly recommend . Wish we could have stayed longer . Thank you .

Wonderful stay in the Costwolds

We had the most wonderful time at the Fold, close by to all the famous villages to visit in the Cotswolds. The place is comfortable, pristine and, well-equipped. Great place to come after a long day walking ng and exploring. We will be back!

A short midweek stay

We travelled from London for a short 4 night midweek stay with our dog Skip. The small cottage was perfect and we loved it. There was plenty of space onsite to walk him. It’s well located for local facilities, hike routes and general site seeing. We will definitely come back here again.

Easter break

Our daughter and family stayed at the Fold whilst visiting Charlbury. The Fold is in an Ideal location, close to the town in a rural setting. The young boys loved the wooded area around the house and spent hours playing in the trees. The house was compact and very well fitted out. The family would definitely stay again.

Great location and accommodation

We really enjoyed our few days here and it was a great base to explore the Cotswolds. The house was very comfortable and welcoming. One issue was It was difficult to manage our dog in the garden from wanting to explore further afield! Some containment would be helpful and a little more privacy. Overall a lovely place.

By far one of the best stays I have ever had. Booked for a surprise birthday weekend away fro my girlfriend and girlfriend parents. We all absolutely loved it and could not recommend it more. Beautiful location, beautiful building. Zero Complaints

Cotswold Break

Location and privacy was perfect ,the walks and open fields for the dog were sublime with just a small walk into Charlsbury . The Fold was well contained with every amenity available other than a shower which I prefer in the mornings but a nice big bath made do for a few days , the beds were very comfy with nice linen and plenty of towels to hand. We had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend The Fold

Perfect family retreat

We had a wonderful 4 days staying at The Fold, a lovely quiet setting in the grounds of a large house. Great spot for exploring the area. Cottage feels very new and clean, everything you could need is provided, the beds are ridiculously comfortable and don’t get me started on the bath tub! Owners were very quick to respond when we requested a high chair too. Thanks Laura & Jonathan!

Family with 2 young kids at The Fold

A delightful stay at The Fold in Charlbury. The kitchen and living area is a lovely space, thoughtfully designed with a dishwasher, space to cook and a full size fridge. There is no hallway, but a basket is provided for shoes and hooks for coats. The master bedroom has a chest of drawers for clothes, but the bed linen is lovely quality. There is not much room for a travel cot as it is quite tight around the bed in here. The second bedroom is lovely for children with two single beds, however these cannot be rearranged. There was just enough room to put a travel cot in here beside the bed. It would have been nice to sit outside in the evenings, but it is difficult because the access to the seating area is via the second bedroom or you can go around from the front door. There is a washing machine in the utility area which is very handy, though the drying rack was not working. The bathroom does not have a shower screen, so taking a shower is a bit of a faff, though the room is large and spacious. The sheep rug in the bathroom felt a bit unnecessary, not sure it is cleaned or washed often. This aside, we enjoyed our time here. The owners were away but responded in a timely fashion and helped us with our requests for an additional hand soap and foil in the kitchen. The kids enjoyed exploring the woods and the apple tree. We would stay here again. It is a lovely property.

The Fold

The Fold is just the right property for a stay in the Cotswolds. It's spacious, very well equipped and comfortable, with high ceilings and under-floor heating. The house is neatly placed with its own short driveway off the one for the main house and backs on to woodland. It's a 10- minute stroll into Charlbury.
