The home was unbelievably beautiful. You can tell that Silvia and Giacomo put a lot of care and love into this trulli home and property. We had a great amount of space and everyone had their own rooms and bathrooms. This home has all the amenities you need. Silvia had a goody basket with wine cheese, taralli, breakfast items and so much more when we arrived. One morning she even came and dropped off Focaccia bread for us. The home was clean the pool was big and beautiful. We won’t forget this home and how it served my family. I promise you won’t regret booking this home. The details are just wonderful.Ciao for now

Gentile Nina, la piscina anche se riscaldata e aperta non era agibile per le condizioni climatiche pessime che hanno messo in ginocchio tutto il sud dell'Italia, in particolare nei giorni del vostro soggiorno. Sono state chiuse le autostrade, sono crollati i ponti, sono stati chiusi temporaneamente alcuni aeroporti e secondo lei il sole doveva splendere sulla piscina di Podere Papilio? Facciamo il possibile per i nostri ospiti ma non siamo responsabili del maltempo eccezionale che si è abbattuto sulle regioni meridionali dell'Italia. Infatti chi sta soggiornando ora, una settimana dopo di voi, sta facendo il bagno in piscina e si sta proteggendo con la crema solare. La posizione di Podere Papilio è il plus della nostra proprietà, lontana da occhi indiscreti pur essendo vicina ad altre masserie abitate. Proprio per questo si chiama campagna. Per quel che concerne le strade, Podere Papilio è raggiungibile sia da Noci (5 km) che da Alberobello (4 km) con una strada larga più di 5 metri. Infine la connessione internet ad alta velocità (200 mega) è garantita da STARLINK e dentro i trulli ci sono 4 hotspot proprio per garantire una copertura totale della proprietà. Bisogna solo mettere le password giuste che trovate sulle istruzioni all' arrivo. Ci spiace per la vostra sfortuna perché in Puglia splende il sole quasi sempre. Proprio per assecondare gli ospiti sfortunati come voi, nelle prossime settimane sarà installata una copertura telescopica della piscina.

Idyllic rural stay

Our group of 8 loved the idyllic rural setting of Podere Papilio. The facilities were excellent and Sylvia was a very friendly and generous host.

Podere Papilio is a truly special place and we would highly recommend staying there! Our hosts Sylvia and Giacomo greeted us and showed us their beautiful property. It was a very quiet and comfortable place plus it was close to several cities. We did a private Olive Oil Masseria tour, had private tours of Alberobello and Matera! This vacation rental was one of the best places we have ever stayed. There were three couples who spent several days here. We were extremely happy to be able to meet our hosts, and they were both so extraordinarily helpful. We were all thrilled with all that they did to make our stay comfortable and a delight. The home was sparkling, clean and welcoming. We could not have been happier! Our hosts were exceptionally helpful and gracious. We would love to go back and visit again!

And the Butterflies are Everywhere!

A beautiful countryside setting near Noci. The Trullo has been lovingly restored…cosy, equipped, historic, immaculate…Such lovely touches as monogrammed towels…and the pool and deck!..But most of all our hosts went over the top with support and instructions…A stay for our Italy Memory book.

Podere Papilio amazing

Silvia and Giancamo greeted us on arrival. It was like visiting old friends. Warm and friendly. The Trulli is absolutely gorgeous. Clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly want on hand. The alfresco area and pool are stunning. We stayed for a week and it was amazing. Highly recommend Podere Papilio for a truly Puglia experience.

Everything started off well, and the property met our expectations. Unfortunately, our experience with the hosts' communication during and after our stay was disappointing. At checkout, Silvia said a mosquito screen had been damaged. I immediately apologized and offered to pay for the replacement. As a vacation rental owner myself, I understand accidents happen. What surprised me was she acted as though we intentionally damaged the property and had been disrespectful of it, despite my immediate acknowledgment and willingness to make it right. When I asked if I could pay through PayPal, Venmo, or VRBO to avoid a 35 wire transfer fee, her husband responded with a message saying he was "disappointed with my behavior." He accused us of being inconsiderate, leaving excessive mess, using too much water and electricity, and even "mocking his wife". I found these accusations both unexpected and unfair. My parents and aunt, who are all in their 80s, had to stay indoors and rely on the air conditioning much more than would normally be expected because of the intense heat wave that swept across Europe, with temperatures exceeding 39C. This was an unavoidable situation and we tried to deal with it as best we could. We accepted responsibility for the accidental damage, apologized immediately, and offered to pay for the repair. I have no issue being held accountable for something we accidentally damaged but the tone and manner in which we were treated afterward was disappointing.

Relaxing Private Oasis with easy access to different cities in Puglia

The grounds are beautiful. The home is private with a coded gate and is updated beautifully. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms. If you rent the entire home, two of the en-suite bedrooms are on the back of the house with private entrances and not connected to each other or to the main house. This is great for privacy, but it is something to consider if you have small children or are traveling with multiple families. The pool is great and kept up. The entire property is surrounded by lavender so it smells great and keeps mosquitoes away. There are fig, olive, and almond trees on the property. It is about 10 minutes driving to the closest grocery store in Alberobello. You definitely need a car. It is a great central location to do day trips to the different cities in Puglia. There is a very friendly cat on the property that hung around from time to time. Sylvia was a gracious host and very helpful with any questions we had. She is there from time to time doing upkeep on the property. We would definitely stay there again.

Un lugar maravilloso

Todo fue genial en Podere Papilio. La casa, el “trullo”,es preciosa, estaba impecablemente limpia y su propietaria tuvo un montón de detalles con nosotros aparte de facilitarnos muchas indicaciones para aprovechar al máximo nuestra estancia en la Puglia. Es un lugar tranquilo en un entorno único. Muy recomendable.
