There was too much communication making the check-in sound complicated and requiring a printed receipt whereas in reality it was all just entering a code at the door. Never saw anyone

Our family had a lovely time in this Nanterre apartment. With two kids in tow, we appreciated having space to move around. The dining table worked well for family dinners after exploring nearby attractions. We also enjoyed walking to the RER A station and getting into central Paris was quick and hassle-free.

Exploring Nanterre was fun from this apartment. I found that being so close to transport options opened up many possibilities for adventure and sightseeing without stressing about logistics. One night, I watched TV and felt at home even though I was traveling solo.

The time leading up to actually entering would have been a lot more pleasant if we were told from the start that we would not interact with a human. First I printed off the confirmation as proof to show the guy. Printing anything is not like it was in 1996. It required special effort. Next I had to show the credit card used to purchase and it got misplaced the day before we flew out. Luckily I found it. Next was the time we arrived. We got into Paris much before regular check in and what we did with our luggage depended on when we could meet the guy. We decided to not pay for early check in and to make sure we were not late for the agreed meet time we said 5:00pm confident that we could meet that time. Finally we got a WhatsApp number for someone we assumed was our contact. We could not get that number to work. Turns out it was just a service for taxis or something unrelated to the stay. Again if we had been told it was self checkin, we would not have sent the 18 emails regarding logistics. The replies were either bot or AI assist so I guess it was not a lot of extra work on their part.
