small and spartan, but affordable

This unit is quite small, bare bones but clean. Technically someone can sleep on the folding couch in the living area, but it's really not comfortable. There is no table at which to eat (the one in the photo is supporting a TV). Location is nice and quiet, but about 20 min brisk walk from town, so recommend renting bikes. Owners could do a lot inexpensively to spruce up the property -- a couple of hammocks, picnic tables, flowering plants would go a long way. The pool is nice, but otherwise this place is very basic.

Some issues, but an overall pleased stay

Difficulty getting in gate, and then found out the young people staying had bypassed it and made it a free pass. Dogs next door bust through fence daily. One is quite aggressive. Pool was not cleaned daily leading to it being closed for scumming out. And maids tried to shake me down for cash cleaning fees. Other than that. A fairly quiet, Clean room. I also got cut on spring sticking out of mattress

Thank you for your review, Michael. We are glad you enjoyed your stay overall but apologize for the issues that prevented it from being a perfect visit. We apologize for any difficulties you encountered with the gate. We have found it to be working properly but understand that it can be tricky to use. Please know our staff is always available to provide assistance should the need arise. We also apologize for the neighbor's dogs. The dogs are no longer present in the home and the gate has been repaired. The mattress has also been replaced. While Vacasa does not offer mid-stay cleans our notes indicate that an exception was made and a small fee was agreed upon. We truly hope we can host you for a more comfortable stay in the future, thank you.

My home away from home

Accomodations issues

My stay at Mayan Falls was reallt good, but i had a few disappointments, 1. there was no stove as was stated in the amenities. 2. No fresh towels, we had to use the same towels for 2 days and 3. There was no bathroom mats. I know that no room service is provided but the hoetel need to ensure additional towels are provided for the length of the time the guest are staying. However i still tried to enjoy my stay. Thanks. God bless

They give no refunds!

Getting into Belize by land was very complicated and pretty much impossible. I explained this to this location and we’re not flexible what’s so ever. They wouldn’t even return a portion. If you are traveling to Belize and need a gold standard accommodation do not choose this place. Entering Belize rules can change quickly and you want to chose a place that is understanding of that.

"Quiet Location"

Mayan Falls great location , after a long day in the town we contacted our Manager to arrange a taxi to take us to our room , he arrange a taxi to pick up and take us to our hotel , taxi driver Abner was very helpful , we were greeted by Raul .. giving him a 5 Star , he was very helpful and always have a smile on his face which made us confortable , the room was clean , AC was super nice on this heat , also property was very clean , would recommend Mayan Falls .. also Mayan Falls has a Consierge that always willing to help ..

Beautiful stay at Mayan Falls

I had a great time at Mayan Falls, the place is clean and big enough, the a/c works very well, there is a TV and all what you need for your comfortable vacation! What I loved is that the area is so quiet and peaceful, sorrounded by nature and little animals that live in the sorrounding area. There are hamming birds, different type of birds, iguanas, crabs, a rabbit! It's 5 minutes bike ride to the center, ask the Vacasa manager to get you a bike, it is so good to ride around the island, the Split it's just10 minutes away (everything is so close!!) and you can see great sunsets (Iguana Beach is also great,there is a very nice little beach club). At Mayan Falls you can reach the rooftop to see beautiful views too! or enjoy a beer watching sunset or sunrise! Just remind to bring with you a good repellent, there are sandflies(little mosquitos). I hope to come back soon!

The location of Mayan Falls was nice as it was tucked away from the busy main streets so was quiet, although some of the other guests certainly made a fair amount of noise - this not being something the property could control though. The bed was comfortable but if you want a place where you could make a few meals and really relax we would not recommend this spot. There is only a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker and the futon/chair provided is not comfortable to lounge on. Two out of the three chairs at the pool were damaged, would have been nice to have some lounge chairs at the pool or even some beach towels provided to lay out on; we requested extra towels twice and did not receive them. We also asked for Chantel to stop by to fix the padlock on our door as the code stopped working and she said she would but didn’t bother to show up. She told us to use the key in the lock box at the door, no mention of this when we checked in, and I had to ask her for the code to the lock box as the one we had did not work. We really dislike complaining as we are pretty laid back and don’t expect a lot, especially with the price we paid, but there were a few simple things that would have made our stay a little less frustrating. Overall I would suggest paying a bit more and staying elsewhere

We are disappointed to see this guest was not fully satisfied with their stay. We did advise this guest that we do not provide pool towels at this location. This home does not have a padlock though it does have an electronic lock and a physical lock. The same code is used on the e-lock as the lockbox to locate the physical key. Upon inspection, after receiving this review, we were able to use both the lockbox and e-lock without issue using the code we provide to guests via their check-in email. We apologize for any inconveniences this guest experienced during their stay.
