Biddeford Cottage on the shores of Fortunes Rocks

Hi! After years of vacationing at Fortunes Rock Beach in Biddeford Pool, my in-laws built a home and relocated to the lovely village full time. In 2016 they purchased a nearby cottage for their guests. My husband and I (and our kids) love our time at South Point Cottage. We have rented it out through a local real estate agent for the last couple of years but have recently decided to rent it out ourselves in hopes of having more control over the rental schedule. We are fortunate that most of our renters return year after year to enjoy their summer in charming Biddeford Pool!

Why South Point Cottage on 7th Street? Location! Few rental properties in the neighborhood are this close to the beach and even fewer are as adorable and updated as "SoPoCo." I recommend checking maps when comparing properties. Streets are numbered (1st Street to 7th Street-where the sandy beach access paths are) and it can be a LONG walk with kids, beach toys, etc if you are on a low numbered street. Biddeford Pool is one of the most desirable seaside communities in southern Maine. Fortunes Rocks Beach is a wonderful beach and the neighborhood is the perfect blend of quiet side streets perfect for walking or bikiing (feel free to borrow bikes from the cottage), maintained nature trails and a bird sanctuary for exploring. A day on the sand is complete with a trip to Goldthwait's Store for dinner with a view (seriously, the fish tacos and fried me later).

South Point Cottage comes with lovely views, amazing gardens, plently of room to spread out with a spacious living room that opens up to the dining room and a sunroom with french doors. A bright and appealing interior is a welcome sight after a day at the beach. The bunkroom is perfect for kids (or those who are kids at heart). A game room at the landing upstairs is well stocked with games, some books and puzzles and a view of the garden. Two full bathrooms (showers) as well as an outdoor shower for rinsing off post-beach. Fully equipped kitchen perfect for those who want to cook and a gas grill for BBQing are sure to keep everyone happy. Original art can be found hanging throughout the cottage. Newer Washer and dryer will prove helpful for anyone looking to pack light! There is truly no need to leave Biddeford Pool while on vacation but it is a short drive to Kennebunkport or up to Portland if interested in exploring! While most people think of summer when they plan a vacation in southern Maine, fall is a wonderful time to visit. Consider spending time in September and enjoy quieter beaches, cooler days, and all the fun! South Point Cottage has proven to be the perfect spot for families, couples, book groups, reunions and wedding guests.
