Aldernest Den sur le côté calme du parc national Acadia MDI / West Tremont

En compagnie de mon mari et de ma famille, je vous invite à partager la beauté de notre maison et de nos chalets sur Mount Desert Island, qui abrite le parc national Acadia.

Nous sommes situés dans le village côtier de West Tremont, du côté ouest de Mount Desert Island. Vous pouvez accéder aux parties du parc en 10 minutes et à Bar Harbor en 30 minutes environ.

Le chalet Aldernest est attenant à notre maison surplombant Blue Hill Bay. La côte rocheuse du Maine est à quelques pas de la pelouse. Vous pouvez prendre votre café le matin assis sur les rochers tout en profitant de notre cadre privé et paisible. Dans la soirée, vous profiterez des magnifiques couchers de soleil qui vous couperont le souffle.

L'Aldernest Den (appartement situé au rez-de-chaussée) dispose de deux chambres, une avec un lit queen-size et une avec deux lits jumeaux. Il y a une salle à manger / salon, une cuisine entièrement équipée et une salle de bain avec une machine à laver / sèche-linge. Oui, nous avons Internet sans fil. Nouveau cette année est une télévision haute définition avec Roku.

1) Nous louons à la semaine du samedi au samedi.
2) Notre chalet est sans animaux. Nous avons constaté que de nombreux locataires de retour sont allergiques aux animaux domestiques, c’est une "politique ferme", sans exception, veuillez
3) Nous pouvons accueillir confortablement quatre personnes avec deux chambres à coucher, l’une avec un lit queen size et l’autre avec deux lits jumeaux. Nous comptons les enfants, y compris les nourrissons, dans l'occupation. Aucune exception, s'il vous plaît.
4) Notre chalet est sans fumée. Interdiction de fumer sur les lieux.

Long weekend Acadia trip

We really enjoyed our trip to Acadia and the accommodations. It was great to have the kitchen as well as the beach access. Very comfortable cottage for a family of 4.

Fall visit with friends to Acadia

We had a very nice stay. It is a longer drive to the park and Bar Harbor from the quiet side of the island but also very peaceful and less crowded. Accommodations were perfect for meeting up with friends from another state to enjoy catching up and sharing a visit to Acadia.

Peaceful Getaway

Just what the doctor ordered! A quiet place for me to recuperate from surgery while my adult kids did their favorite Acadia hikes. And we finally got to the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, less than 10 minutes away. The house was perfectly appointed, and I especially enjoyed sitting on the adirondack chairs on the rocks overlooking water, a very short walk away.

Great spot!

The apartment was very clean and quiet and in an excellent location right near a lot of entrance points to Acadia. It was only about 20-30 mins to Bar Harbor too! Kathleen was so helpful, incredibly nice and easy to get in contact with. I would definitely stay here again.

Cozy cottage

I and my children (ages 12, 18, and 20) had a wonderful stay at the Aldernest Den. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, and convenient to all points in Acadia National Park. Lovely, private grounds, and the 2-minute walk to the stunning rocky shoreline is well worth it. Kathleen was an excellent host. We would love to visit again.

Amazing Quietside Getaway

Out of all of our places to stay while visiting Acadia, this was by far our favorite. The accommodations and amenities were clean, up to date and well equipped. With a SHORT walk to the private shoreline, it was the perfect place to relax, getaway while still having easy access to everything Acadia has to offer. The only issue we had was the week went by too fast!

My second stay at Aldernest

I love the location and the space. Last year I stayed here in August with two friends, this year in June with a daughter and granddaughter. We love the trails, the mountains and the ocean. Kathleen is a wonderful host and the trail to the ocean is short and we sat out there at the end of the day. Very clean house and great beds.

great location

The location on the "quiet side" of the island and on the ocean was perfect for us. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The rooms were not big, but perfect for 3 adults, who spent our days hiking and climbing. We ate all breakfasts and several diners there and the washer and dryer were easy to use. Kathleen was great and showed us the basics. I will stay there again.

Week in Acadia

My husband and daughter and I came for a week in Acadia. The location was perfect for visiting the park. We booked last minute due to a change in plans. The house had everything we needed and was clean. Loved walking down to the water to catch the sunset after a day of hiking!

Nice place.

We enjoyed our stay at Aldernest. 1/2 hr from the downtown Bar Harbor area, so not in the thick of things but not too far away. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. We could have used a few more washcloths and hand towels for a ‘sleeps 4 people’, but we managed. I think the 6 pm check in time and a 9 am check out time is somewhat extreme, but again, we managed. Beautiful seating area down by the water, very quiet, be forewarned, bring bug spray!

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are always disappointed when someone comments about something (in this case towels) that could be so easily resolved during their stay. We reside right here on the property and enjoy the ability to respond very quickly to any need our guests may have. As for the check in and check out times, this is a reflection of our commitment to cleaning thoroughly between guests. We don't have a housekeeping staff...just Kathy, Jay and one helper. We hope our guests can understand our limitations. That said, if you have special needs regarding arrival or departure, we are always happy to provide any flexibility we can given the circumstances of the day.

Perfect little cabin- 100% recommend

We loved our stay at the Aldernest Den. The cabin was easy to find. It is located in a peaceful neighbourhood, and is at a couple minutes walk from the beach. We were travelling with little kids and Kathleen was a very accommodating and gracious host. She was always quick to respond to messages and even came in person at the time of our check in. The cabin decor is beautiful. It was clean and super cozy. It had everything we needed. It is about 45 minutes away from Acadia and less than 10 minutes from Bass harbour lighthouse. We would stay again.

Trip to Acadia

The cottage is somewhat tight quarters for 3 adult women. While it met our needs, the bathroom, especially the shower, is a bit small. The beds were all comfortable and there was sufficient closet space. We were very fortunate with great weather and so we spent very little time in the cottage. The living room is not really comfortable for lounging but that was not an issue for us. All points of interest were a reasonable drive — generally 10-40 minutes.
