En tant que chalet privé de Sliding Rock Cabins, le Riverhouse Retreat est niché sur 4 hectares de forêt profondément boisée dans les montagnes de la Géorgie du Nord et constitue une escapade romantique parfaite. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our stay, the house was a good size for us and our 3 dogs. It was clean and really had all we needed for our stay. I really loved the fact that our dogs could sit outside with us by the creek. There is plenty of outdoor space to play ball with the dogs and just let them enjoy a walk in the creek.I was concerned when I saw people had commented there was a road on the other side of the creek but really didn't see many cars go by and it did not interfere with our enjoyment of the atmosphere. We did hike the Benton Mackaye trail that is right near the cabin and one other that was only 12 minutes away. Our dogs have good recall so we didn't use the fenced area much but it is sufficient if you need it. The beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms were nice. All and all had a great time and grateful for being able to rent this cabin with our dogs.

Our furbabies LOVED this cabin. The only thing missing was a dishwasher which would've been more of an issue if we were staying longer.

winter vacation

The staff if very attempt but still had a broken toilet that they said it will take an entire day or so to fix to what I said not to. I did not want to share my off-society time with an estranger on a very small cabin for a day or two working on the toilet. We also lost internet and phone for an entire day on top that there is not cellphone signal at the cabin, and I found very discouraging the fact that they did not offer any type of compensation for none of these two incidents that cause a lot of discomfort on my stay. Especially the broken toilet on the main floor having to use the secund floor toilet for my six days stay at the place. Bright side the cabin was clean the view was great and the neighborhood perfect for walking my dogs. I would say this is a great place for a summer vacation because the river was tentative and beautiful. We saw some big fish coming up the current.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I'll start with the positive things. Secluded on the water. Gps took us right to it. Plenty of outdoor lighting. Comfortable bed and love the fenced yard. The reasons I won't rent this cabin again are: unbelievably bad furniture. The couch is the worst I've ever sat on! Infact I couldn't. I opted for a rocking chair from the porch.The kitchen is not for cooking. The pans are shot and the oven only has one oven rack. No cookie sheets and utensils are sad. If you don't cook it won't bother you. The cabin is tired as well as the decor. This is my 7th cabin rental, my 5th with SRC.

Peaceful for people; fun exploring for dogs!

The cabin & property were accurately described; clean & well-maintained, including the outside area. We loved the location. Very quiet & secluded with beautiful, wooded views yet only 20-25 minutes from Blue Ridge and Ellijay. Our active dog loved exploring the large creek for hours. And the sounds of the creek were relaxing even inside the cabin. We loved having access to the hot tub & used it daily! Our favorite activity away from the cabin was riding the rail bikes in Blue Ridge. This is our 1st stay at this cabin but our 2nd times renting with Sliding Rock Cabins. We are grateful that they are so dog friendly. This is definitely our go-to cabin rental place from now on when we visit the area, usually once per year.

Relaxing Cabin

Nice house but. Getting into water was not easy

House was very nice but it was small the river is not easy to get into and that was one thing that I specified and they say they're driveway you can get in but we used our four wheel drive because the driveway really really needs a lot of work they need to move the boulders out of the driveway and put some rock down and grade it. What I said the house is nice but my main thing is being able to get into the river with me and my dog and we're both not young anymore and you had to climb down to the river and there's also a road right across on the other side of the river and the house sits right on the river which was nice cuz you could hear the water constant but you can also hear all the traffic going and see all the traffic going

Low beam in the upstairs bathroom, and the lights on the fan at the cabin entrance. I learned to duck. Very happy for the dog friendly accommodations. This will be our top choice when we return to Blue Ridge.

Remote a good and bad thing😊

We had a great stay-everything we needed except cereal bowls…really? Comfy with great wrap around deck-3 sides Did not use hot tub but tempted since it was already warm!😃 No issues that would keep us from returning. Ground clearance and 4wheel drive could have been needed if very wet or snowy.

Sliding Rock Cabins- Riverhouse Retreat

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed at Riverhouse Retreat overall we enjoyed our stay the setting of the cabin was nice with a beautiful view right on the creek.The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils.The cabin is older which isn't a bad thing but there were a couple of maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. Primarily there were a couple of loose boards that needed to be replaced on the deck by the hot tub. Also there was some fascia missing from the hot tub. The property looks like it could use a deep cleaning we noticed cobwebs and dust on several of the decorations and ceiling fans. Also, there was mold/mildew noted in the window of the upstairs shower. When we removed the pillow cases from the pillows at checkout we saw several stains on the pillows as well. Also the cabin description states that 4 wheel drive is not needed but if you have it I would definitely bring it.our Tucson barley made it out the driveway/ road each day. It is very steep and gravel/clay with several pot holes

Father’s Day Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful! The creek is stunning! This property was such a treat for my father and I to get away and enjoy Father’s Day with my dog. We enjoyed everything from the wineries, hiking, the fire pit, and all that the area has to offer. next time, we will bring our golf clubs! The interior does need some updating and I would probably not bring a low riding car. The driveway was an experience! Other than that we had a perfect time! Thank you so much! I will be back!
