Accueil complet, pratique, grand et beau. Grand jardin calme à l'arrière avec trois patios attrapant le soleil à différents moments de la journée. Grande cuisine qui fait saillie dans le jardin. Le jardin est très privé. Vues des chambres du dernier étage. Arrêt de bus devant la maison. Près d'Amsterdam, Haarlem, la plage et Keukenhof. 4 vélos gratuits pour les clients. Seulement 25 minutes de vélo pour les courses de Formule 1. We had a wonderful stay in this large, well-maintained, house conveniently located near the town's main shopping street and not far from the train station. The roomy kitchen and its airy extension into the garden, and the generous supply of bicycles, were particularly appreciated.

The stay was exceptional for our extended family. We filled every bed and had ample room in the kitchen to eat together and in the living room/dining room area to play card games and watch a few movies. The yard and gardens are beautiful with several outside seating areas and tables. The location suited us very well on the outskirts of Haarlem. It took us 10 minutes by car, 15 minutes by bike to get to the Haarlem Grand Markt. Anne Frank’s House in Amsterdam was 30 minutes by car, an hour by bike. Schipol is 15-20 minutes away and is undergoing major renovations. We rode bikes to the coast, visited many sites outside of Amsterdam and of course enjoyed the many offerings in Amsterdam itself.The owner was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable at check in and made an effort to check us in himself. We cooked several meals without difficulty. The nearby grocery stores were within 5 minutes walk and were supplemented by buying at outdoor markets while visiting the cities, including a very fun market day in Haarlem.

Peter and Nanda were exceptional hosts- friendly and welcoming and very responsive to my questions. The house fit our group of 8 very well with close access to the bus line and many shops and restaurants nearby. Having bikes available was a huge bonus, and we made use of them on trips to Zandvoort, Haarlem, and more. Heemstede is a lovely little town close to Haarlem and Amsterdam. Highly recommend this property and would stay again if I can get back to Hstede.

Heemstede Spring Family Stay

We loved our stay in Heemstede. The house was the perfect size for our family of eight. It was even better than the pictures, offering plenty of space to spread out. Our hosts were very communicative and helpful, and left a wonderful gift basket which was a very nice touch. It was very conveniently located near the bus station which we used most days for day trips to nearby Amsterdam, Haarlem, etc.

There were 10 family members that stayed here. It was wonderful. The place was very clean, lots of space for everyone to move around. Location was great by the bus station. Peter and his wife were wonderful. Very nice couple to rent from.

Perfect Stay!

Peter and Nanda are exemplary hosts! The property is ideally located with easy access to Amsterdam, the beach, and local restaurants and shops. The six bikes were a bonus and we used them everyday. The house was exceptional and easily accommodated our entire family. We had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We would highly recommend Peter and Nanda's property!

A Lovely Home Stay

The house is large, comfortable, well-equipped and has a marvelous back garden and yard. Close to transit for trips into Amsterdam, via Haarlem, which is worthy of visits as well. Biked out to see the Formula 1 facility and beach at Zandvoort, on the bikes provided. Peter and Nanda were helpful and responsive and we appreciated the use of their lovely property.

Family event

We came from overseas for a family event and needed a home away from home for 9 people. Peter’s home was fantastic! There was room for everyone and many quiet corners so we were not living on top of each other. The house is beautiful and had everything we could possibly want. The kitchen is fantastic, the garden is beautiful, and the hosts couldn’t be more welcoming. Highly recommended!

Exceptional Home in a Beautiful Location

The owners were very friendly and gave us a tour upon arrival. The had a gift basket with wine and snacks which was really nice. We loved biking and walking to town and Haarlem is only 10 minutes (by bike which were also included at home) and the North Sea just a little further. The home was immaculate, appliances were high end and updated. Bathrooms and bedrooms all very clean and updated. Will definitely return for another and family reunion. Cozy and inviting backyard and garden area to enjoy with plenty of chairs made this a very memorable vacation for all.

Heemsted "The Villa"

Family from the USA and Dutch relatives named this property "The Villa"! Most appropriate as the property is a fantastic place for family gatherings with spacious living, dining and back yard areas. We don't want to overlook the kitchen where we spent much time enjoying great food and drink in a bright and welcoming atmosphere! Comfortably sleeping our group of 8 with nice spacious room and great showers on each floor. Enough said...this is a great centrally located place for anyone visiting Holland!

Best Place to stay when you are in Amsterdam

The pictures do not do this place justice. Peter and Nanda are some of the best host. Nanda was there upon arrival to show us the home and provide an amazing welcome basket to get our stay off on the right foot. The house was immaculate. Short walk to the bus system, and 2 blocks from shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. This house had everything we needed for a group of 7 adults. Thank you Peter and Nanda for sharing your home.

Excellent all around!!

This place is a gem. Beautiful gardens outside a spacious kitchen area that seated all 7 of us easily. And the large windows made it even more special, regardless of the weather. The 6 bikes were included and were certainly a bonus! And the beds were super comfy. It's very close to shopping and cafes, where we found a great bakery. And it is just 50 meters from the bus stop. Thank you for making this week so enjoyable. Loved it!!

Wonderful home in an excellent location!

My family and I just stayed in Peter and Nanda’s beautiful home in Heemstede and we absolutely loved it! The home is gorgeous, very well kept and the kitchen is truly a highlight - we spent the majority of our time together in there cooking, chatting and laughing! The location is unbeatable as you are right next to a bus stop that takes you anywhere you need to go - Haarlem station is only a 10 minute bus ride from the house. While their garden was only just starting to bloom, it was a lovely place to play with the kids and enjoy the sunny days we got. I can only imagine how beautiful the garden is as all the blooms come up. We are grateful for such a comfortable and nice place to come home to after our full, adventuresome days and absolutely recommend this home to anyone coming to the Netherlands!

Gorgeous Home!

After a stressful cancelled booking in Amsterdam, I booked this Heemstede home for our family of 7 adults from the US. And we are now so glad for that cancellation! The Heemstede home is gorgeous - spacious, clean, quiet, with lovely Dutch character. The perfect combination of luxury & coziness, plus a backyard garden to enjoy & relax in. Super easy access to beach & Amsterdam from here. The host, Peter, has superb communication skills & he & his wife were so very welcoming. They willingly offered suggestions & guides. Our family was happy to meet them when we arrived & truly wished to get to know them better. We were blessed that Peter & Nanda shared their home with us; it was a wonderful location for the start of our family’s time in the Netherlands- A memory not to be forgotten. Thank you!

Thank you for use of your home

While planning a family trip postponed due to the pandemic, this home was attractive due to high reviews. I contacted the owner with a request regarding our visit and he warmly agreed, contributing to the feasibility of our trip. Communication before travel with the host was clear, concise and helpful. The home was well situated in this beautiful town, close to public transportation and appropriately sized. The night prior to occupying the home, we received 5 pages of house rules. Included was a request to clean the property prior to departure. Having utilized various VRBO properties in various countries and never having to “clean” a property prior to departure. As landlords ourselves, we treat properties as we would our own. When we attended the home to deposit our suitcases, the owner expressed anxiety over the quantity of suitcases present (one per person!) as well as an empty beer case that we were unable to return prior to vacating our initial vacation home. The owner expressed concerns over how we might treat his property, despite our party consisting of working professionals. Due to the list of rules, we spent the last day of our vacation cleaning as we were concerned of repercussions relating to failure to return the deposit or poor review. I appreciate it was a joy for you to return to a clean property and your gratefulness for the care shown for your house, but excessive rules and homeowner anxiety caused undue stress. Overall, vacation property is recommended.

Karen and her group left the house clean and we are very grateful for that. What she failed to mention is that the house can sleep a maximum of 9 persons. When she booked, she requested that we make an exception to sleep 10 because of dire family issues. Shortly before arrival she requested that we accommodate 11 persons using the same argument and furthermore could we accommodate an early check-in. We accepted Karen's request to exceed these limits. When a specially rented cargo van arrived packed to the brim with 11 full sized suitcases, groceries, shopping bags and cases of empty beer bottles, we indeed became anxious. In retrospect, we are glad that we were clear about leaving the house clean. It seems to have cost us a star but it was necessary. Peter & Nanda

Perfect

We spent a very good time in Heemstede and everything was perfect. Very good contact with the host. The house is very well located - you can easily visit most of turistic curiosities by car in one hour distance and well equipped - you have everything you need. Of course very close to Amsterdam - but it's better to go there by train - the station is 15 minutes by walk and yu reach Amsterdam in 10-15 minutes by train. We really recommend this house. Sfeervol huis in een mooie buurt!

Wij verbleven in deze mooie woning tijdens de drie dagen dat wij de Dutch Grandprix bezocht hebben met ons gezin. Een zeer ruime woning met een mogelijkheid om te parkeren op eigen terrein (ruimte voor 4 auto's). Erg schoon en gezellig ingericht. Een schitterende woonkeuken met veel glas waar je tijdens het ontbijt langs alle kanten de tuin in kijkt. Er lag een persoonlijke welkomsboodschap klaar met lekkere snacks. Het contact van tevoren en achteraf met de eigenaren was erg prettig. Kortom een aanrader!!

I am a recently retired elementary school teacher and my Canadian husband Peter is a former executive and business owner. We love traveling and are frequent guests as well as hosts. We have many friends and family abroad and two adult children whose careers have taken them globetrotting over the past decade. As a result our house has always been full of guests coming and going which is how we got started hosting guests and eventually renting out our home to guests during our own vacations. We have been doing this for years with a 4.9 star rating and over 200 reviews with another well known rental site.

We have lived in Heemstede for over 30 years. This is perhaps the most attractive part of The Netherlands. Close to Amsterdam, Haarlem, the beach and bulb fields: these are the reasons that we love living here and the same reasons why our home has been very attractive to large and extended families looking for a unique location for their vacation.

The house itself is a charming classic Dutch home built before the war. The location is extremely convenient within walking distance of a multitude of shops and restaurants in Heemstede.

The kitchen has been extended into the very private back garden making it the main attraction of the house. Even on rainy and winter days there's tons of light, a large table, comfortable chairs and floor heating making it a natural hub where we have spent countless evenings entertaining company and where we begin each day with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. As much as we enjoy our vacations, there's no place like home.
