This is a fantastic property (exceeded expectations). 5 min walk from shops and restaurants. We were in town for a guided fly fishing trip. Just 20 min drive from the apartment we enjoyed a fantastic day of fishing on the Elk River. Then back to the apartment which is well equipped and more than comfortable. Sharon made everything easy. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a great place to stay in Fernie.

It was smaller than expected but what a great use of space! Nicely done and everything you need. The welcome basket was not expected.. used everything, in fact we went downtown and bought more of the specialty coffee. Train tracks are very close and we wondered if we would sleep well that night, we did all 3 nights. Must've been our love of trains and the comfortable bed.

Lovely Stay in Fernie

We loved everything about our stay at Blue Spruce Guest Suite. The location could not be better—just a quick five-minute stroll to downtown’s cafĂ©s, shops, and pubs, yet tucked away on a quiet street so we slept soundly each night.The suite itself is sparkling-clean and thoughtfully outfitted. The kitchenette has everything you need (full-size fridge/freezer, induction cooktop, microwave, and plenty of small appliances), and the private deck is a great spot for morning coffee with a mountain view.Our host went above and beyond: she greeted us with a generous welcome basket filled with fruit and local treats, and her recommendations made planning easy. We followed several of her tips and enjoyed fantastic meals and hikes—all within easy walking distance.Thanks again Sharon, and we'll be back!

I have considered not writing this review but I wish I knew about the following issues prior booking our stay.The place is spotless indeed but that might be a problem. On the day of our arrival in Fernie, our dog sitting arrangements fell thru and we had no choice but take him with us. Prior to check in I have explained the situation to the host, after being admonished, my request to allow the dog outside on the deck ONLY and sleeping in the car with him at night, was approved. About an hour later, the host told us she called VRBO and I need to sign a liability document for the potential damages of the dog inside of the unit. She humiliated me by saying that she had done this a long time and she knew that I would take him inside. Three days into our 5 days stay she humiliated me again by reminding me that I should not had brought a dog with me and she should have cancelled the booking, although she just admitted that we complied and we never took the dog inside.In my mind, when you have a business in hospitality industry it is necessary to be able to make your guests welcomed. None of this was true in our case. Besides the host attitude, the written policy of the unit is that you will pay for any stains on the rug, towels or even the bathroom sink. This is the price you have to pay for a spotless room: we tiptoed inside of the room.Another issue is the train sound: 5-10 times a day, the train passes right at the end of the backyard. When outside, cover your ears.

Super Clean & Modern & Has Everything

Superb location, close to everything in Fernie. Close to Elk River trail. Downtown easy access. Amenities are excellent in this clean and modern property. Sharon is an excellent host! Great views from all the windows and a huge backyard with chairs to enjoy the view! Thank you for setting up the BBQ for us!

We love staying at Sharon's place

This is at least the third time we have stayed at Sharon's place in the last few years and we love it. It is a great size for a couple. We stayed for a week, had plenty of space and were very comfortable. The bed is super comfy and the location can't be beat - we almost never used our car once we were there. Sharon is a great host who is very quick to respond to even minor questions. Thanks Sharon, we will be back!

Gorgeous views from a great location

Sharon’s over garage suite was the perfect space for the couple of us. Walking distance from downtown Fernie and epic views of the ski hill. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great Vacation

We had a fantastic week at the Blue Spruce guest suite. Sharon was a great hosy. The unit was perfect for our ski vacation. The kitchen was well equipped for dining in and the location was perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. Having secure storage for our gear was ideal. Hoping to stay there again on our next trip.
