Mark was an outstanding host with great communication. The property was in the perfect location and had plenty of space for our group of 6 adults, 2 kids, and dogs. I would definitely stay here again.
The location was everything! The views were everything! We really enjoyed staying at the property. We loved the big yard and the farm house. We canât wait to come back!

Mark was a great host. There were some hiccups due to crazy wind and cold but he communicated throughout the process. We will definitely rent from him again.
The owner listed and booked the property but didn't prepare for us. There was a person living in the property until the day we got there. The property was filthy (dog smell and hair everywhere, dirty linens, dirty kitchen and restrooms), the water was off, and the power was out (25 degrees). We got a refund when we arrived but then the owner started demanding we pay something and threatened to throw us out if we didn't. It was the holidays and there weren't any other properties available. I didn't mind paying something for the stay but with the threat of being kicked out the negotiations felt unfair.
Rustic farmhouse just a stone's throw to downtown Blowing Rock. Location is ideal because the home is set back from a well maintained state owned road so during inclement weather in the winter you're not having to stress about driving. The 2 acre yard is huge and provides loads of privacy and space for four legged companions. You don't have to get in your car to go for a walk/hike as there is a pond at the bottom of the hill you can hike down to. The gentle slope of the front yard would make sledding fun during snow. Mark, the host, is accessible 24/7 and quick to respond to any questions.
Had a wonderful time staying on the property. Acres of space with room for the dog to play in the yard. The home is very old, but has all the modern amenities, so it was a perfect place to stay with the family for the holidays. Enjoyed warm afternoons on the front porch the and sunsets from the fire pit. Located right off the Parkway and less than 10 minutes from Blowing Rock, the location is great, and no steep/rough driveway to worry about in the winter weather. If you like historic homes and wonderful views, I couldnât recommend it more.
Gorgeous property with a ton of yard! Awesome location with a short drive to ski and a short drive to Boone. Mark was extremely helpful in the check in/out process and even mentioned some fun things for my group to do. Overall the house is extremely clean and has all the amenities you would ever need. I would definitely stay here again!!!!!!
I would highly recommend this property to groups needing to spread out (whether inside or outside). The house has every bit of 100 year-old charm. The big screen TVs were an awesome surprise too! Plenty of room for your dog with a tie-out beside the house which could easily be seen from inside the living room and master bedroom. Definitely want to sleep upstairs in the Grandfather sweet though that has amazing view of grandfather mountain. The kitchen is well stocked with every pot and pan you could think of (including cast iron) and has a dining room also overlooking the mountain. If youâre there in the snow - bring your sled for sledding down the hill of the property! No complaints about this property and would definitely recommend for even family reunions or large group vacations/retreats as there is another rental cabin across from it and the property would be excellent for a mini campground! Very close to Blowing Rock, Spas, and Skiing !
This charming farmhouse is a straight shot 3 miles from Main Street Blowing Rock! You can't beat its location! The owner Mark was so nice in explaining everything including how we could sled down the hill during our 5 inch beautiful snow storm! He had great recommendations for hikes and local restaurants as well, including Roca Bistro, The Speckled Trout and Town Tavern. We had fun cooking breakfasts with friends on the Jenn-Air gas stove and even had a beautiful bonfire under the stars one night! The walk down to the large icy pond was just gorgeous. We plan to go back in the Spring and take a bottle of wine to the swing by the pond! With lots of acreage to this property, we felt very private yet so close to town. We brought our own sheets and towels. One thing missing was a microwave this time. We will definitely try to return to this one!
