Loved it here. It was very peaceful. The water in this area has a sulfer smell.. That would be our only complaint, (no fault of the host) The host made sure there was plenty of good water for drinking, which we really appreciated

Fishing cabin

We really enjoyed our stay. Kids loved the swing set and slide off the deck. It was close to the boat ramps for fishing. Cabin was stocked very well.

Lake Cabin

Very nice cabin and an awesome host. We were there to fish and the location is close to two boat ramps. Convenience store with good food and bait close.

Cozy Weekend Getaway

We had the best stay at the fireside cabin. The cabin was very clean and had comfortable bedding. We enjoyed fishing and fires in the backyard firepit. Bryant was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. If you are looking for a quiet spot for a weekend getaway this is the place to be.

We enjoyed our stay. Our party included 4 65 males. The steps to the second floor bedrooms are steep and narrow and do not have a bannister. Navigating them can be concerning for some. The partially covered deck is new and spacious. It looks out over the neighborhood and has a lake view but no lake access that we could see. The cabin was perfect for our needs. We were there snagging spoonbill. We were on the lakes all day during our stay. It was a 20 minute to half an hour drive to Truman Lake and 45 minutes to Lake of the Ozarks from the cabin to the parts of the lakes we wanted to access. The cities of Clinton, Osceola, and Warsaw are fairly short drives away. Deepwater Mo. is a rural village and cell service is spotty but the cabin has good wifi and had we had no problems once we were there. We did not need to have much communications with Bryant as everything is spelled out in the instructions. This is how I prefer it.If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the outdoors, then this place is for you.

We didn't spend much time in the cabin, but the time spent was great! The beds are comfy, the kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. Enough space for 8 people to visit. We comfortably. Will go again..

Cozy quiet retreat

The owner was very nice and very easy to work with. The cabin was very well equipped and just a short walk down to the lake. And a neighbor left a big bag of fresh corn on the cob on the porch! :)

Nice and quiet!

Cute little cabin and helpful host

The cabin was clean and nice inside. There were plenty of amenities for our family of 5. Tracy left a little book with ideas of things to do in the area. She was also responsive when we had an issue with the VRBO messaging. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Family Trip

My fiancée loved me before…

…but now she’s head over heels after surprising her with this cabin for her birthday weekend. It was just the kind of thing she appreciates most, and the whole booking process was great for me too. There’s a freaky turkey perched near the front door, but even that had it’s charms.

Family fishing trip

We decided to book a week on Truman Lake for some family bonding time. The property was very well maintained and clean. The response from the owner was excellent and she took care of all of our needs immediately. I would highly recommend staying here. the cabin was very clean and was convenient location for daily fishing. Excellent! We will definately look at booking the same cabin. I'm a big fan of Truman Lake! Over the years, I’ve spent countless days out here fishing, boating, hunting, or just soaking in the peacefulness of the evenings. Everything you need is close by, and the kindness of the locals makes the area feel like home. I really can’t speak highly enough about it.

One of the things I enjoy most is hearing the stories from guests after their stay. I often hear about how much the kids love the play set—and how the slide off the deck brings out the inner child in the adults, too! But more than anything, people talk about the peace and quiet they experience while they’re here.

You can sit back and watch birds fly through the trees, deer wander across the backyard, and enjoy the charm of the Martin house. It’s a special place, and I’m always happy to share it.

I have loved spending time at Truman Lake for many years. It’s one of my favorite places to relax, fish, boat, hunt or just enjoy the outdoors. With hiking trails, picnic spots, and beautiful open water, there’s always something to do.

Truman Lake isn’t just scenic—it has a rich history. Truman is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake that was created in 1979, and named after Missouri native President Harry S. Truman. Today, it covers over 55,000 acres and supports both wildlife and recreation.

Whether I’m out on the water or exploring the area’s trails or boating, every visit reminds me why I love this place so much. If you’re looking for a peaceful, activity-filled getaway, or to just chill, I highly recommend it.
