The Orchard Suite: Serenity in nature

The Orchard Suite is located in the finished basement of our home that is surrounded by a working apple farm owned by my family who settled in western North Carolina in the late 1700s and found fertile fields and abundant water. The apple orchard is surrounded by managed forest which includes abundant wildlife. It has a private entrance, full kitchen, full bath to include a washer and dryer. The Suite overlooks our fish ponds where you can bring the family to fish for freshwater trout or catfish. In winter, visit Black Bear Snow Tubing located on the property.

You are about 40 minutes from Asheville and just around the corner from Chimney Rock State Park. Point Lookout Vineyard is just one mile away.

Hendersonville stay

Dan’s place was immaculate and cozy. The view was amazing. It was conveniently located minutes from downtown Hendersonville, yet private and peaceful.

Lovely orchard suite

We absolutely loved our stay at the orchard suite. Susan was amazing with our girls and was so welcoming. We caught fish, picked apples, and enjoyed the beautiful views (on an orchard!). The accommodations were perfect for our little family and had everything we needed to stay comfortably. We will definitely be back to visit to take advantage of all the other activities the area has to offer. _

Wonderful fall getaway in the mountains

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Orchard Suite with our 17 year old daughter. The apartment was very clean and well decorated. We had all that we needed to prepare all the meals. We loved some pottery bowls and asked where they came from. We were so happy to learn that they were made by a local relative and we were able to purchase some of her beautiful pottery. It was the end of the Apple season but we were able to glean what the pickers left behind. Delicious apples. In addition to other beautiful hikes we took in the area, we also took a good hike around the property. Susan and Dan are very kind and friendly people. We highly recommend this apartment. Unless you want to go the same time we do when we return.

Beautiful Scenery & Home

Home is beautifully decorated and clean. Enjoyed the view of the apple orchards, pond and pastures. Would love to visit next time in the spring or summer to be able to really enjoy the property. Dan and Susan are super hosts. Had a great visit.

Scenic Orchard Setting

Such a lovely place with a very tranquil view. The apartment was perfect and we really enjoyed the apples (such a sweet gift for the host to leave for us)! Sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee in the morning and looking out the big window was a great way to wake up. Oh, and the same table at sunset is just as perfect. We will be back!

We had a 5 star stay! This place is so clean and has every thing you will need! We had the pleasure of meeting the host and they were very nice and welcoming!! Especially their black lab Pepper!

Lovely home with gorgeous views

Dan and Susan's place was perfect for our Labor Day weekend getaway. Their home is private in a lovely setting with a gorgeous view of the apple orchard. Clean, organized, and comes with everything you need. Thanks for letting us stay! We would definitely rent again.

Mountain Escape in beautiful apartment with apple orchard setting

Beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable apartment in an apple orchard setting that is in between Chimney Rock, Lake Lure beach, and Hendersonville. Hiking in BearWallow was fantastic. The hosts, Dan and Susan, provide a warm and welcoming escape filled with new and pristine kitchen appliances and accessories. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Property

We had a wonderful stay at the Orchard Suite! My 3.5 year old said it best - she took one look at the view over the orchard and said ‘it is BEAUTIFUL here!’ The house was perfect with lots of awesome small details. We had so much fun exploring Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Park, Hendersonville, and so much more. After a long day of hiking and exploring it was nice to come back to a place that felt like home. Thank you opening up your home and beautiful property to us.

Beautiful Property and Wonderful People

We arrived later than expected and Dan and Susan turned the porch light and inside light on so we weren’t in the dark. The Orchard Cottage is clean, beautifully decorated and very well appointed, it had everything we needed. The ambiance of the property is wonderful and breathtaking…lots of fireflies and birds chirping. The view from the property and orchard is spectacular, especially at sunset. The fishing on property was really fun for us to enjoy and do as a family, my boys loved it! We are already hoping to book another trip because there is soo much to do and we didn’t get to it all. Dan and Susan are wonderful people and really made it special and memorable. We had a great stay!

Orchard Suite is sweet!

Orchard Suite is a beautiful and peaceful rental. The hosts, Dan and Susan, are warm, welcoming, and provide exceptional hospitality. The rental exceeded our needs and expectations. Long weekend Family getaway

This was the perfect long weekend getaway for our family to the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area! Susan and Dan were so very nice and were willing to help with anything yet you didn’t know they were even there. But just a heads up fir anyone that wants to bring their boat to use for Lake Lure make sure to know ALL the rules, we chose Lake James instead much larger and nicer lake anyways.

Perfect Home Base

We stayed at the Orchard Suite for 5 nights over Easter Weekend. It is a super clean, cozy, well-stocked walk-in basement apartment with a private entrance. The owners, Dan and Susan, were so accommodating and welcoming. We enjoyed fishing in their trout farm (which made for a wonderful dinner) and watching the bald eagles fly over their property. Their apartment is ideal for a small family or couple and served as a perfect home base for our mountain adventures. We visited Asheville, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Hendersonville, and DuPont State Park. Thank you, Dan and Susan!

Great place to enjoy with the family

This place has it all. Super clean, cozy, in the mountain, with a nearby winery, lakes, fishing grounds, Tubbing and great owners ready to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

A little bit of heaven.

We had a good girls weekend .The apartment was cozy and new. Susan the owner decorated it, and it was beautifully done. The owners are out standing. They had a bottle of wine for us, which was a nice touch. We enjoyed fishing in their ponds . They are some of the nicest people you could meet. We plan to go back, when its warmer. Thanks again to Susan and Dan for sharing their apartment with us !

Weekend get away

We'd give the Orchard Suite 10 stars if we could. Private, beautiful setting, nicely furnished, clean, welcoming, stocked with everything we needed - we couldn't have asked for more. We especially enjoyed being able to sit outside mornings and evenings by the creek. Dan and Susan were the perfect balance of helpful, attentive, friendly yet gave us space to unwind, to come and go at our leisure. We loved our time there and will gladly come back every chance we get!
