Unique, spacious, surprising rental

Hostess was prompt and exceptionally helpful with all questions before and during our stay. Property was a uniquely great place for our reunion with so many rooms with private baths, a gym for basketball, pickleball, volleyball or space for children to run. Loved the nearby petting zoo and swimming at Wolf lake minutes away.

Great Famy Time Experience

This place is amazing! Perfect and accommodating for large groups! It was a great experience and fit our needs well! The kids really enjoyed the on-site basketball gym and game room!

Awesome Countryside Retreat

Great property is in a beautiful secluded area of the countryside. While simultaneously being close to town which makes it easy to go out to eat or do other activities. The house has large communal areas that provide great spaces for large groups to hangout together. Great kitchen that is perfect for preparing meals for large groups. The large number of bedrooms and bathrooms allows for individual guests to have some quiet time and privacy if they want that as well. Awesome spot for a family vacation or a weekend getaway with friends.

Great Christmas 2025

Grand rural retreat was a great experience for our family of 27. Not fancy, but absolutely perfect for elementary and teenage kids. Every bedroom has a full bathroom and there are other public bathrooms. The best thing about the property for us was the gymnasium. It’s all connected and has basketball, volleyball, Pickleball, and soccer capabilities. The kids ran and played constantly. There are places where the adults can go for some peace and quiet. The general eating area is very nice. Alexa was a gracious host. Everything was clean. If you’re looking for an up-to-date, fancy ultramodern facility you will be disappointed. If you’re looking for a very usable practical clean facility for your large family this is the place.

Accommodating for all ages

Firstly- This property has so much to offer for a big group of people of all various ages! There are so many different activities and games that are provided. The gym was amazing, my kids brought bikes and had a great time. We brought sleds and it snowed enough for the us to sled down the hill in front. We had the best time and we are planning on making this an annual tradition! I love cooking and the kitchen was a dream to have large meals cooked in! Secondly- the hostess, was absolutely the best by far. She answered random texts SO FAST and if we needed anything she was sure to deliver. I 100x over recommend staying at 'The Haven' for anyone that is looking for a big group gathering for a long weekend!

We were so happy with all the accomodations. Everything was as pictured only better. It's very spacious located in a quiet setting. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Great Property and Owners

We had a reunion of 6 families, which includes 12 adults and 18 children; the space was perfect for what we were looking for, the kids enjoyed the library and the board games. There were more than enough bathrooms and bedrooms for everyone (which is usually the limiting factor for our searches) and the rooms were simple but comfortable.The gym was an excellent place for our group to play basketball and volleyball, and Alexa was extremely responsive and gracious. We would definitely consider staying again.Alexa had informed us that the property is on a septic tank at the beginning of our stay, so we were a bit apprehensive in the beginning and watched our water usage, but the tank is quite generous and Alexa kept us updated on how much we had been using, and we were well well within our capacity. The site used to be an old seminary, so the property is simple yet comfortable. It was exactly what we were looking for, as we wanted to spend all our time with each other and unplugging from TV/Media, which we did!

Multi-family group

Our multi-family group enjoyed our stay during a February weekend. This affordable priced home offered a gathering area for all to enjoy during meal times. In addition, there were two rooms with plenty of table/seating space that provided a 'craft project' room and a puzzle/game room! The gym space offered plenty of space for several pickleball matches and volleyball games. The majority of the rooms have dedicated bathrooms. There was plenty of parking available (we did not use the indoor parking). WiFi was available/operational, but cell phone service was limited in areas of the property based on your cell phone provider. The host responded quickly to any questions we had in anticipation to our arrival and visited shortly after our arrival with a welcome gift and to answer any questions about the property and surrounding area

Funke Family Reunion - 50th Anniversary Celebration

Our entire family would rate our experience 5 PLUS!!!! It exceeded our expectations in every way. There were 24 of us - age 5-72, and there was something for everyone. We had plenty of space - and used every room! The gym may have been the favorite space .... with volleyball, basketball and pickleball games. The kids loved the exercise room, game room, library and theatre room. And of course the kitchen and living area was a great place to gather. The kitchen was well supplied, making it easy for us to prepare our meals! We had beds for everyone - and plenty of bathrooms and showers. The campfire area made for fun evenings. We enjoyed several local creameries and spent time at the nearby lake. We cannot imagine having better hosts! The owners have done a marvelous job of renovating this historic property. We were welcomed in person and the hostess was available to answer our questions and was so helpful in giving us suggestions of local places to visit. She became a friend to us, showing sincere interest in our family. We are so thankful for everything they provided, for their care of the property and guests. Highly recommend this rental!!!'

Perfect location for our MG Holistic Society Women’s Empowerment Retreat

The Haven is a hidden gem and a must book!We searched for three years to find a venue for our Women’s Empowerment retreats. In the past, venues often didn’t live up to their promises, and that made us hesitant to book again. This was not the case with The Haven. I personally feel it was even better than advertised.We used every space available for our retreat, and the different conference rooms allowed us to separate our activities. The workout room and gymnasium enabled us to deliver the holistic wellness experience our guests expect. A kitchen with ample space and two refrigerators more than met our needs. It was smart to have two long tables in the open-concept area: one for dining and the other for our vision boards, which helped prevent any mess on the carpet.Alexa, the owner, was extremely helpful in guiding us to what we could find in the area. Having everything on one level, with almost everyone having a private bathroom, is a game changer. Having bathrooms that are handicapped accessible meant our ladies with Myasthenia Gravis could shower with confidence knowing there are benches if they felt weak. After our activities, the ladies enjoyed time in the theater room. The energy of this place is calm and peaceful. Because of all of these factors, we will definitely book again next year!

I LOVE this place!

I recently had the pleasure of renting this beautiful newly renovated place, and I can’t rave enough about it! The size of the property is incredible—so much space to explore and make your own! Whether you're planning a big family gathering, a celebration with friends, or a work party or just need room to stretch out, this place has you covered. The owners were as incredible as the space! They were so accommodating and helpful and were a big part of making our event a success! The sheer potential for fun is what really stood out when I was planning my work event. The layout and variety of rooms made it easy to create different zones for our various activities—games in the game room, movie night with a blow up theater, pickle ball tournament, huge dining space for our special dinner and late night snacks! The bedrooms were spacious and so much fun to explore! We rented during the winter but the outdoors are perfect for a summer return! There's plenty of room to set up games, have a barbecue, or just lounge and enjoy the scenery.This rental truly offers endless possibilities for making lasting memories. The history in the building just adds to the enjoyment. I can’t wait to book again! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a massive, versatile space with tons of potential for fun! If I could give it more stars, I would!

The Heartbeat of Our Year

Where to begin? this place is PERFECT. Location: close enough to Grocery and far enough that we didn’t have to worry about disturbing neighbors. View: Beautiful countrysideCleanliness: 10 out of 10. Incredibly clean, each shower, each bedroom, and kitchen and main areas. Space: There was space for everyone! Finally found somewhere that could comfortably sleep us all. Everyone got a bed this time! Bonus: all but 3 bedrooms have their own full bathrooms. A large Great room that opens to a huge kitchen with 2 large refrigerators. Space for game nights and space for quiet contemplation. We were a family of 25 that used each of the bedrooms. There were ADA bathrooms, brick walls to muffle sound for sleeping babies, a huge gymnasium for all the kids and big kids to play basketball, or throw catch. Puzzles, Games, a Library, an additional large room for games to be played or visiting. Not to mention plenty of parking for all of us traveling from all over.Probably bring our own walkie talkies next time because the place is so spread out. Owners were attentive and welcoming. Greeted us with a welcome basket including items from local vendors. Even brought a wagon for us to unload our cars to our rooms.Overall best place we’ve been to as a family. Checked all our boxes including affordability.
