Very quiet, peaceful location. Kitchen had everything we needed, comfy seating in open eating/family room area. Did not use upstairs but lots of games and great space for kids and teens to sleep and hangout. A/C was a plus since was fairly warm while there.

Amazing Piute experience!

Thanks Heather for your hospitality and for such an amazing place. It was fully stocked, comfortable, clean, and just perfect. We had such a fun 12-day getaway, the rec center was amazing, the live music scene is so fun - just a great place to relax and unwind. If you're considering Big Trees, and Heather's place in particular, you can't go wrong. We'll definitely be back!

Refreshing stay in the woods

We had a great time at the Big Trees Cabin. The host, Heather, was very responsive and the house provided many thoughtful details, including games for the family, a well-stocked kitchen, a coffee bar with an espresso machine, comfortable seating areas downstairs and upstairs, and even a cooler-backpack for day trips to Lake Alpine or Calaveras State Park. Individual ACs in various parts of the house provided excellent cooling during a hot summer weekend. The deck facing the forest was incredibly relaxing, especially in the morning and the evening. Looking forward to staying at the Big Trees Cabin on another future trip.

Cozy in Arnold

This cabin in Arnold completely exceeded expectations. The setup is thoughtful, cozy and clearly done with care.What really stood out, though, was how warm and inviting the space felt. It strikes that perfect balance between beautifully updated and genuinely cozy. Every detail—from the finishes to the furnishings—made it feel like a true retreat rather than just a rental.It was the kind of place where you instantly relax the moment you walk in. Peaceful, comfortable, and full of charm. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy getaway with a touch of modern elegance.

- family loved the cabin 10/10 (wife said she could stay here all summer)- directions leading up to, during, and ending were clear- so much to do in the house in terms of games, reading, tv, fire pits/places to just hang out- the recommendations and instructions on the wall posters were really helpful and blended into the place- it’s well stocked with things to cook, clean, toiletries- beds were way comfy (wife ordered the sheets for our own)- I liked the light switch controls throughout the house- super responsive (and patient with me) as a host- the loft area being a cozy, fun hangout really sold it for my daughter- the mix of furniture/decoration throughout the house was the right amount of blend between “old camp” and some modern stuff

Peaceful Pines

Such a well equipped cabin! We had a girls weekend away and it was so comfortable and peaceful. We spent a ton of time out on the deck. The cabin had everything we could ever need and then some. Highly recommend. ALMOST (but not quite) wished I brought my kids to enjoy all the games in the upstairs game room.

We had a great stay and the house was well stocked for our time. There were some PG&E outages that we had to deal with, but the host responded and kept us up to date on the information they were receiving from the utility company. They quickly gave us access to a secured pantry that had the lanterns and everything that we needed during the multiple outages. The back porch was somewhere that we spent a lot of time on and the BBQ worked great. I would definitely feel confident in staying in this house again!
