This independent unit with separate entrance has 2 bedrooms with a living room and a large newly remodeled bathroom.
It is equipped with a gas stove for light meal preparation, microwave and a mini fridge. It is ideal for light cooking and people who are more on the go. Two beds can sleep 4 people comfortably. Local, discrete lighting makes your soothed and relaxed.

It is just minutes away from the 580 freeway for a close connection to your outing.
The bus stop is literally in front of the door for a connection to the BART / subway system and other bus reachable destinations. The neighborhood is safe and it feels like living in a park with lots of trees and green.
San Francisco downtown is only 4 stops away from the closest subway station.
Walk only 5 min to the ridge and enjoy a free view of the whole Bay, the Silicon Valley and a beautiful sunset with the San Francisco skyline.

Convenient to the Bay area

The apartment was clean and well appointed. It was a little quirky, but not in a bad way - more in an artsy way. It was very conveniently located to get onto the highways to get anywhere in the Bay area quickly. Very spacious and great views into the Oakland hills.

Peaceful stay in the Oakland hills

Johnny and his mother made us feel welcome and at home. They were caring and responsive, whenever we needed anything. The apartment was roomy and cozy, with comfy beds, a lovely balcony with a view of the hills, and a deck with a great bbq. The place had lots of blanquets and towels. I wish the owners added a washing machine on site for added convenience! The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe to walk around, even at night. Just outside the house there is a bus stop; we had our own rented car and didn't use it, but having public transportation available is always a plus! Overall, the place is recommended and is a great value for the area.

Scammer don’t rent!

Never sent us a code to check in when I contacted him he said that the place is under construction and no one can stay there leaving us stranded with no where to go. We rented the place two months in advance and arrived there to find out we have no where to stay. Had to argue with him and Vrbo for two hours to try and get our money back as he was trying have us cancel so he can keep 50% of the payment. Do not rent!

Peaceful Stay

I was in town for a chamber music workshop, and stayed at the property for a week. It was lovely to be close to nature in a quiet, woodsy Oakland neighborhood. I was able to relax and unwind after a busy day rehearsing.

As another reviewer mentioned, this place is a bit makeshift, but it's also gorgeous and kind of magical with a cottage in the woods feeling. It was me (mom) and 2 young daughters traveling, and we felt right at home here. The unit is very spacious, with the coziest blankets and a comfy couch. I loved all the stained glass and outside it was clear how much love and effort went into the garden. The hosts were helpful and friendly. This unit is up a bunch of stairs, and I have some chronic pain problems that make mobility slightly difficult for me. The owner checked the stairs for me and we had a lengthy discussion about it to make sure I'd be safe, which I was. For those with more limited mobility, this wouldn't be the right place. We really enjoyed our stay. Great for those who like quirky places, not for those looking for a luxury stay.

Rustic Flat in the Hills

Overall we had an enjoyable stay at this property. It’s very rustic and definitely not for people looking for more luxurious stays. Host was friendly and responsive and flexible with check-in and check-out. Good value for your money.

The experience was lovely! Neighborhood was very peaceful and beautiful

Me and a few family members/friends stayed here for the weekend.... and had a small event. The owner was very understandable and cooperative. We enjoyed our entire stay. Kept everything clean with no damages. I would highly recommend this residence to anyone and will definitely be booking again
