The Historic Escape, originally The "Louis Johnson Diffee House" is a newly renovated charming home offering 3 BR, 2.5 bath & a large front porch with a custom daybed swing. A stones throw away from JH Adams Inn and walking distance to many restaurants such as Sweet Old Bills BBQ, Tipsy’s Tacos, Sweet Josephine’s bakery and an award winning craft brewery, Brown Truck Brewery. Minutes to High Point University, HP Market and the new Rockers Baseball Stadium.

THINGS TO NOTE:

- ADDITIONAL GUESTS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED UPON REQUEST, AND GIVEN PERMISSION.

- We RENT ONLY to couples, families, and responsible adults 21 and OLDER.

- Quiet hours are 10pm-8am.

-Parking is available behind the house.

- Pets are allowed, but we must be notified and approve prior to your stay. If pets will join your stay, they must be house trained and we ask all animals to be crated if you leave the home. Please pick up any waste left in the yard by your pet(s).

-Guests are subject to additional cleaning fees if extra cleaning is required from the pets or excessive cleaning is needed in the home.

This house and its history is amazing! A beautiful home decorated wonderfully. The house is fully stocked with everything you need. The location is close to everything, dining, coffee shops, shopping! Literally 4 mins to Highpoint University! Lovely tree lined street with sidewalks so you can walk! The property is amazing with a beautiful courtyard backyard and I believe a huge magnolia tree. The front porch is absolutely amazing! We stepped back in time when entering, with is rich history. The host thought of everything, from extra toothbrushes to floss, to makeup mirrors and hairdryers. Lots of fresh towels. The beds are super comfortable and we slept great.Thank you for making our Thanksgiving memorable!

Property is historically beautiful but there was a mold issue or something and I couldn’t quit coughing and feeling horrible after I stayed the first night so had to leave way early and felt much better after I didn’t sleep there the next night. But it is a beautiful peaceful place

Beautiful historic home in prime location!

This home was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. It's a historic home with modern amenities located near High Point University and many restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and fast food. The backyard is huge and is perfect for hanging out and the front porch has comfy outdoor furniture and a quaint atmosphere. There was enough parking for 3-4 cars. We will stay here again.

Location and vibe are top notch

We really enjoyed the house, the walkability, nearby shops and restaurants, and the porch is a must! Its a small town vibe near campus. Quaint and cozy. We walked downtown and to local coffee shops each morning. At least 4-5 cute boutiques nearby. The house has everything you need. One of ourvfavorite stays.

Charming hospitality

This is our 2nd stay at this exquisite home while working in High Point. It is filled with every amenity you can think of, is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and also has very comfy beds. We love this hidden gem in High Point!

Fantastic!

Charming house and neighborhood! This was the best stocked VRBO we’ve ever stayed on. The owners really want you to feel at home and have coffee, toiletries, etc. available for use during your stay. The beds were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful historic home.

We were in town for a wedding and had my adult children with us. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. we liked how they eyes the interior but kept much of historical quality of the home. The front porch was very comfortable and was a great place to enjoy our morning coffee. They had several options of coffee and creamer and even had a latte frother. I would highly recommend this home and would stay there again if we were in the area.

Great Location, Needs TLC

The most remarkable aspect of this property was undoubtedly its prime location, which played a pivotal role in our decision to select this home. However, a closer inspection revealed that the property was in need of significant maintenance. The bedroom walls appeared unfinished, with visible cracks and areas requiring patchwork and fresh paint. The carpets upstairs were dirty and stained, and the bathroom sink was obstructed by hair. Furthermore, it was apparent that bugs had taken up residence in the home before our visit, as their presence could be observed on various surfaces throughout the house.

WONDERFUL location and charming home!

Came to town for HPU orientation and stayed at this home two nights. Absolutely ADORABLE, lots of seating, space and places to relax...especially the front porch! Beds were VERY comfortable and fans are in each room. Location was so close to everything and loved their recommendation book of coffee (SO CLOSE BY) and dining. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Greensboro Trip

We came in town for the women’s ACC Tournament. It took about a half hour to get to the stadium but that was ok. We loved the house but some of the ladies have trouble going up and down stairs. Since all the bedrooms were upstairs it wasn’t a perfect fit for us but we made it work. But the house was perfect, we all loved it very much.

Beautiful home in High Point

This beautiful home was centrally located near all our events for a friend’s wedding. Self check in/out was made easy with a key code. The welcome basket & other amenities were very nice. The home was very comfortable, spacious and nicely decorated. We enjoyed relaxing here between events. I would definitely recommend staying here.
