House is located in a quiet mountain community within short driving distance to Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska, Asheville and other areas. The air hockey and pool table were unusable, but since we were all adults, it didn't matter to us.There are dogs that roam off lease next door, they were not aggressive and seemed well trained, but they did startle us the first time they ran towards us.Glassware and coffee cups were at a minimum so plan accordingly.Overall, we had a good time and I would book again.
I was disappointed with having to take our trash off instead of having a dumpster to put it in. The hot water in the master bedroom didn't get hot no matter how long it ran. Other than these two issues, the house and property are beautiful.
The driveway was very hard to get up due to gravel washed up from rain. They came to work on it and was much better. Would be nice if another bathroom was upstairs. House needs a few repairs and cleaned up better. I had to vacuum upstairs and clean floors downstairs. They need to have housekeeping wash towels and not depend on guest to do that before they leave. Also need a trash pickup,we had to carry trash with us because dumpster was closed. Overall the house was plenty big enough. The kids enjoyed fishing and petting the donkey. They also enjoyed the firepit. Good thing my son brought a portable grill because the gas grill was not in good shape. One of our kids left headphones by accident and they were kind enough to mail them to us. So overall we enjoyed our stay.
This was my groupâs first time staying in the mountainous part of Lake Junaluska/Waynesville. The steep roads took some getting used to, but the views were beautiful and the home and area around it were very peaceful and serene. The house was very clean on check-in, and there was lots of space for my group of eight to spread out and relax. A couple of issues came up over the week and the owner Delia was very prompt and courteous in responding to my questions/concerns. She was really great! Also there is the most adorable donkey we nicknamed Fernando and his little duck friend that follows him around just down the street who brought us a lot of joy. :-) We did a lot of cooking and baking in the kitchen (it was well-equipped) and laughing and talking around the table. Thank you for this wonderful week!
The property is beautiful! There was plenty of room for the family. We especially loved the fire pit in the backyard. The kids loved the many games in the house and the vast yard. Beware of bears! A momma and her two cubs were in the front yard on the evening.
This house worked great for our group of 3 families. Lots of space, good sized kitchen, beautiful nature. The location isnât close to much, and the last mile or so of road is a slow gravel roadâso if youâre doing lots of going places, it takes awhile. The neighborhood donkey was a huge highlight, and the hot tub and fire pit are great! The bathroom layout is a little awkward for a big groupâthere are 2 full bathrooms in the master bedroom and just 2 small hall baths for the other 5 bedrooms and anyone in the common areas to share. When we arrived, there was a power issue with part of the house, but the owners were very responsive and got an electrician out immediately who fixed it. Overall, Iâd recommend it!
We were a group of four families that got together for a weekend of skiing at Cataloochee Mountain. This home was close, clean, convenient and very comfortable! Would definitely rent it again!
We loved our stay. The house sits on a hill and so pretty. It is huge, our kids all had their own space. It was peaceful and the fire pit was a great way to end the day. Youâre close enough to Cherokee and Maggie Valley to shop and sight see but far enough out to feel like your in the heart of the mountains.
We had a great time during our stay at this property. There were 21 in our group with ages ranging from less than a year old up to 70 years old, and we had plenty of room to sleep and spread out. The host was so helpful and friendly with all of my questions. We absolutely loved this home!
The house was wonderful. But the drive way needs some attention. Coming up driveway to house the ruts need to be fixed very rough but every thing else was nice
It was very difficult to get up driveway unless you are in a truck or off road vehicle. Driveway needs graded badly. Some areas of the house were not clean, especially floors needed mopped. Door code had been changed so I had to contact owner. VRBO need code updated and it should explain trash procedure. Waste place is only open until 5 Mon-sat. We checked out on Sunday so to avoid a $20 trash charge we had to take trash home with us. Unacceptable! Does need updates but not a bad place to stay.
Well let me start with we had a great stay, checking in was easy, the location of the house is good and all appliances worked (besides the hot tub we could not get that working properly). But the biggest issues I had was the water pressure, cleanliness, and bring the trash down to the dump (who on there vaca with a big family wants to worry about stopping by the dump daily with their trash). The house has potential but it is falling apart, tile, grout in chunks. Everything is sticky, walls are dirty (finger prints everywhere) kitchen cabinets you can see food splash marks, covered up stains with rugs. Just dirty. Definitively NOT professionally cleaned every stay. There is No jack and Jill bathroom it is a toilet/tub and a toilet/shower in the master suite. The shower upstairs we could not get to work due to the water pressure and good luck filling up the tub with no water pressure. There is dead ladybugs in the house everywhere, again back to the cleaning thing. I just hope they clean the sheets every stay because that was on my mind. If you don't mind a so so clean place that you have to haul your trash and maybe things work then this is perfect. It didn't ruin our stay, but I would not stay again.
We had a lovely time here. There were 15 of us and the property offered PLENTY of space. The grandkids enjoyed the game room upstairs.
There are some maintenance issues that need to be addressed from the owners. The dishwasher is temperamental and cobwebs need to come down! Lol.
Also, you have to carry your trash into town to dispose of it or pay $10/bag. I did not see that in the listing⊠but perhaps I missed it. And, bring your own toilet paper. You are left with 1 roll to start, but required to bring your own. Bring plenty of towels and washcloths too.
Overall, still a great stay.
Perfect location and space for our big family Christmas gathering! We enjoyed snow tubing, the hot tub, hikes and a bonfire and plenty of lounging and eating and sleeping space for our family of 22. It was a memorable holiday for us all.
The home is beautiful and had lots of room and is very reasonably priced. The area is beautiful and scenic. We visited several.area parks and activities. The hot tub is amazing, but it took a long time to heat up, even with the top on it. The ownwers responded quickly when we called ot messaged them. I would stay here again.
My husband and I love this quiet area, close to Interstate 40 which will take you into Tennessee in about 35 minutes to do the best white water rafting in the area and it can take you into Asheville in 30 minutes for great shopping and sight seeing.
