This is a great spot for a couple in the center of Aix-en-Provence. The owners were easy to communicate with through the VRBO app. It is an easy walk from the main bus terminal. It is not handicap accessible. It is at the top of 4 flights of stairs. Also, the bathroom has a hand-held shower fixture only. Linens and towels were provided but no washcloths. Tons of eating options immediately around the area including an excellent tapas restaurant and Middle Eastern restaurant.
Charming apartment with nice details. In the middle of the historic centre. Well cleaned & plenty of towels. Kitchen well equipped with thoughtful touches to help prepare picnics like foil/sandwich bags.
Central location means loud music until 1/2am & extractor fans of nearby restaurants open on to the roofs, so rooftop smells strongly of frying food. Was also construction work in building which created noise. Various things didnât work - coffee capsules had been left, but coffee machine didnât work. TV only received one channel (TF1) and many light switches not attached to lights. Bed was ok, quite basic, fine for one person but would have been a bit small for two. Bathroom could do with modernisation, especially somewhere to attach shower head. I didnât receive any arrival information and had to call the host to know how to get in. First person I spoke to had no record of booking. Quickly another person called me & gave details but no apology was offered. This may have been Expediaâs mistake however as I experienced numerous technical difficulties with their app. Finding key to the apartment was a treasure hunt, hiding it behind tables of a restaurant where people were sitting was tricky. Wasnât great to have to take out the rubbish when you pay an extra âŹ60 cleaning fee.
Overall not certain it was worth the money. However I am aware it was high season which is expensive so it may be competitive, especially for bigger group than me who would share cost of apartment.
Very charming apartment. The air conditioner was key in august! The hosts were very friendly. The only thing I would note is that during the summer the area surrounding is sort of a big bar scene and there was loud music until 1:30 am. But it wasnât terrible, and the location was just about as centrally located as possible. Definitely look into parking beforehand. You have to park in a lot. The carrot lot is closest although more expensive than some- 15⏠per day. Overalll an excellent experience!
