The 1st thing we did upon arrival was duct tape all the screens in the bedrooms as none of them were in securely. They were all open to the outside at some point which was obvious by the dead bugs and leaves in all the bedroom window sills. Ewww. You really should vacuum those sills. It was as if they werenât the actual screens made for the windows. All 3 of The bedrooms were nice size with bedside night stands but there were no small lamps on any of the nightstands. If you needed any light you had to use the overhead light which you couldnât reach without getting out of bed. I mean come on, spend a few bucks and get some lights for the nightstands. And the living room, again, no lights except the light on the overhead fan which when turned on, Iâm sure could be seen from space. Not cozy. Then we discovered we only had 2 rolls of toilet paper and we were staying for a week. A blind over the large kitchen window would be nice also as you can see not only the kitchen but the dining area and some of the living room. A couple of bucks could fix most of these issues except maybe the screens. With that being said, the property was in a very quiet neighborhood and very close to Downtown East Tawas. With a few simple fixes I would definitely stay at this property again. The host was very quick to respond to all my questions.
Our family has been in tawas since 1920 and every year it seems to grow in size. I stayed here (4 roads over from a cousin's place) for a week. The house had all the things needed for success: wifi, charcoal grill (donated the bag to the next group), the utensils, plenty of plates cups silverware etc. The 3 bedrooms were clean and all had working lights/fans. The bathroom was clean and appreciated a nice shower after a long hot Tawas day. The deck out back was small and quaint with a nice touch with patio string lights. The air movement in the house w the windows open at night and the fans on helped keep most of the evenings cool enough to fall right asleep. Plenty of yard space, as i had my 2 waverunners with me. Location was perfect for running over to Jerrys, or Lumbermanns for the day with the waverunners. Communication was great, I had a need upon arrival and they didnt hesitate to try and assit and definitely provided a solution that worked great. Up north, summer air, good location, safe and quiet place to come back to...what else could you want?!
The private beach was EVERYTHING! The wagon was a big help getting our things down to the lake. The beds were comfortable, plenty of space for our family of 5. Lots and lots of fans to keep the air moving, but no a/c and it did heat up inside in the evenings despite our best efforts. No long laundry list of requirements or rules, very reasonable! Lovely and relaxing.
We enjoyed the property immensely. It was the right amount of distance from town, but extremely close to the beach and state park. Overall very quiet and just what we were looking for.
Nice 3 bedroom home with knotty pine walls. Stayed comfortable without A/C in August heat. Not nearly as close to the beach as the description implies. Overall, it was a clean and comfortable place to stay.
My husband doesnât like to camp so Iâve been bringing the kids ( ages 17, 14, 11) for a few days for several years; weâve stayed in multiple places but this place had the best beach location. It was a longer walk but hardly any people on the beach so well worth it. Perfect location for riding bikes and took a drive to the Lighthouse for pics. Check in was super easy; owner always responded when I had a question and the absolute best thing for me was how clean the place was. Kids donât notice as much but I felt totally comfortable using the shower and sleeping in the bedsâŠ.love that I didnât have to worry about nasty germs everywhere cause believe meâŠ.not all rentals are kept nice and clean.
We also played some of the games that were in the house and took advantage of Netflix for some movies at night. We did a campfire 2 of the 3 nights and there was even wood provided; so awesome. Very happy I came across this place and hope to possibly stay again next year.
Great location comfortable beds and clean house in quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Well stocked kitchen with utensils and some food cooking essentials. Small kitchen work space. We would go back when we visit again. Entry was confusing but we eventually discovered where in Vrbo to find entry info. Even the VRBO person on the phone did not know. You need to go to house rules and tap more info to get key code. The location of the house is just minutes away from the point.
Nice quiet neighborhood. Of course in the middle of the summer it may be livelier. đ the home was exactly what we needed. Great backyard with bonfire. Short walking distance to beautiful beach.
Beautiful area comfortable cabin. just wish the beach was actually steps a way from beach as described in listing!!! (not blocks away) had a visitor all weekend (mouse) he didnât eat much but had to keep our food supplies packed up
Lovely 3 bed 1 ba cabin with no a/c in a nice lil wooded fenced lot perfect for small kids to explore in shoes, bring extra towels & wash cloths, NO A/C, has a nice 2 block walk to beach so bring a wagon for kids/chairs, Had a nice long getaway with kids & grandkids close to activities & shopping.
