Arrange a get away trip with your friends and family to our property. It can be a one night or multiple nights to come relax and enjoy each other’s companies. Only an hour from Dallas.
This fantastic property features 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It very comfortably sleep 6 people.
The cottage provides a waterfront lake view with a glorious backdrop from the living room, dining, kitchen, and master bedroom. Master suite offer a queen size bed, flat screen TV, and large spacious bathroom. The master bedroom also includes a sofa bed for additional guest.
A second bedroom have 2 bunk beds for a party of 4. Also available are sofa bed and a futon bed for 2 additional quests.
Can accommodate up to 6 people.
The living room have large windows giving you a beautiful view of the backyard and lake.
Our kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, toaster, oven, electric hot water pot, refrigerator, pots and pan, and more.
Private 150’ fishing pier.
Enjoy your coffee and breakfast in the morning on the spacious patio.
BBQ grill is available and a firepit in front of the lake.
Watch the beautiful sunset from the house.

Rest and relaxation goals attained

Cute cottage with great views of the lake. It was a great getaway and would definitely come back to enjoy the tranquility of the place. Ensuite shower is 'da bomb'. Could use a new 'primary' bedroom bed and screen door. Thank you.

Lake house

Loved the property. View of the lake amazing. Which is the reason we booked. Could use a little more time on cleaning, especially since everyone is charged a cleaning fee.

Lake house with such a nice view

1. I love the view outside the lake house, it is a fantastic week I had there. 2. the interior is remodeled, so everything is in good condition, nice! 3. friendly neighbors saying hi to us everyday, and kids swimming in the lake. 4. wifi is at a limited speed, though understandable.

Scary Neighborhood Dirty toaster, ovens and fridge

Toaster and ovens were dirty and the fridge needed some cleaning. The oven mitts were black from filth. The neighborhood was down right scary! Not safe to walk, ride a bike, or anything safely and the ride to the home was horrible with all the deep potholes! We left a day early and cut our losses. So many stray dogs, dilapidated homes, just a disappointment for a special weekend for myself. Just did not feel safe!

Little surprises everywhere

Pros: for the most part, this was a quiet get away. The host was quick to respond to issues. The view of the lake from the deck and living room was really nice. The pier at the front of the property is nice and would be great to fish from. The time spent with family is always priceless. Cons: the house was not cleaned thoroughly (and apparently the maid and host do not communicate often about changes with who is cleaning). First night, there was hair found lying in the master shower and a fleece blanket, that was folded at the end of the bunk bed, that when opened smelled foul. The next morning, after not finding coffee cups or silverware in the cabinets or drawers, we open the dishwasher to find it full of dirty dishes. From there we were unsure about the cleanliness of anything else. The refrigerator needed to be cleaned also. I reached out to the host, sent a picture of the dirty dishes found, and he responded quickly with an apology. He did refunded me back an equivalent of a one night stay after finding out there was someone else who cleaned instead of the regular maid. The neighborhood is a little rough looking and you may think you took a wrong turn at some point. The spiderwebs, that are all over the outside of the house, should really be taken down. This is just regular upkeep. We brought cleaning wipes while we were at the store there in town, prior to arriving to the property, and I am so glad we did. You still shouldn’t have to pay for a rental, and worry about the cleanliness of the property or spend your time cleaning up someone else’s mess so you can feel comfortable. We wondered if the towels we had used, prior to finding the foul blanket and dirty dishes, had even been cleaned.

Great Spot!

Great Spot on the lake! Cute little cottage with all you need to relax and enjoy the view. The surrounding area coming in was not well kept but the property owner has no control over the neighbors actions -- understandably -- but the cottage grounds are very well kept. Overall, a great weekend escape!

Amazing

This is an awesome place. The location is not what you expect when you see the surroundings. My family loved it. There is not anything we can complain about. The owner always responded. Check in was easy. The house was beautiful. The lake was great. The neighbors were super nice and not at all bothersome. We would highly recommend this location to anyone just wanting to relax. It was super quiet and the view was amazing.

Quiet Get-A-Way

The lake house was nice and clean and master bedroom shower was amazing. We had a great time with the grandkids. My granddaughter caught her 1st fish and was so excited. Will definitely rent again. Midland, TX

Lake Trip

I was weary of the location after reading some of the reviews, but after arriving was not concerned at all. However, the house was not clean when we arrived. I swept, mopped and vacuumed all the floors. The water from the mop was black. I also had to purchase my own cleaning supplies because the ones provided were sparse. Ants got into our food in the pantry and were infested under the rug in the living room. I washed the bath mats as well because those looked dingy. I wanted so bad to give this place a rave review because it has such great potential but paying for a rental w/ a cleaning fee then having to do a through deep cleaning when I arrived just did not sit well with me.

COZY,COMFORTABLE,CALMING, AND CLEAN

After reading some of the reviews about the neighborhood I was a little unsure about our stay at the cottage on Lake Tawakoni. There were properties in the area that were unappealing to say the least. But this place was very nice. We were not bothered by anyone and felt very safe at all times. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The house was clean and well equipped. We grilled out on the deck, and in the evening enjoyed sitting around the firepit. We drove around to the state park and walked some of the nature trails. The town of Quinlan is close by and has plenty of stores and restaurants there. All in all this was a good find for a nice get away and I would definitely recommend this place.

A place to stay or quick lake visit

The property itself was nice with a lovely view, awesome deck and dock into the lake. House and property were very clean and new, but neighborhood was a little run down and this particular property felt out of place. I felt safe, and a neighbor seemed friendly, but this property seemed a little out of place. The road to property was bumpy country road, so go slow! The house had all that we needed for a one-night stay. Communication with host contact was difficult, but he seemed nice once we were able to reach him.

Very cute and cozy and zen

The house was clean and well constructed. Very picturesque with zen moments in mind. The big windows give tons of natural light and welcomes the sights of the outdoors from the comfort within. The desk space was amazing, great for outside bbq and conversation. Also has features of texas charm with a porch swing and mini card table.Twinkle lights give a warm glow to this little get away. The dock was also nice to sit on and ponder. Because this space is in a country area, I would say, beware of critters. Lots of spiders and webbing. I also spotted a water moccasin. But you know how it is, you respect nature and nature typically respects you. We were able to utilize the fire pit with relative ease especially in the early morning when you can be more vigilant. The area is also a bit rough. But everyone kept to themselves and the proper is looked after closely since the neighbor helps take care of the property. Overall I'd still say it is excellent for a weekend away. Especially the house itself. Very well done indeed with exceptional views of the lake and sunset warmth.

Great place for the price

The reviews are true. The property is located in a rough neighborhood BUT we weren’t bothered at all. No neighbor issues. The property is as described. It was a wonderful stay and priced accurately for the neighborhood it is in. The only thing that I didn’t like was the water access. It was covered in ivy and is grown up. I couldn’t get the kayaks to the water. Other than that, it was great and the host responded immediately to all of my inquiries.

Lake House Stay

We had a wonderful time at this house. Loved this house. Especially loved the shower. House was very nice and clean. Sunsets were awesome! Definitely will rent again in the future.

Hidden Gem

The cottage is beautiful and well appointed. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Comfortable beds and a luxurious shower. A very nice partially covered deck with table, chairs and a swing extend the living area nicely. The path to the dock is well lit. Sunset views are awesome. Yes, the road in is a little rough as is the neighborhood. All the people we met were very friendly and the cottage is a true hidden gem!

This is such a beautiful, little lake house! Incredible shower, lovely kitchen, lots of windows with view of lake. Quiet, very clean, and secluded! We really enjoyed our visit!!

Bad location

Because of the location we felt unsafe and decided to not stay at the property. We got very close but we never actually found the property - the GPS was inaccurate and the roads very muddy and full of potholes. The neighborhood was definitely sketchy and we were stopped by a man that asked us to call the police because something was going on down the road. He had a cell phone and he wasn't making much sense. We had such a bad feeling about this guy hanging out so close to the property that we didn't feel safe and decided not to look any further and headed back home. The house looked nice from the pictures but it wasn't worth the risk for us.
