Very peaceful getaway with lots of nature
We loved staying here and walking on the trails on the property. We also really enjoyed working the wood stove and unplugging. We would love to stay here again next time we are in the area.

Very nice and quiet place to relax for a few days. The cabin was clean and cozy. It was only a short drive into town for anything we needed, yet far enough away that it felt like a real getaway. Close to tons of parks and hiking trails. Wish we never had to leave.

The setting was incredible and it was very clean and comfortable. Why would I stay in an overpriced 3 or 4 star hotel when I could have this place at the same price or less? Owner was SUPER helpful and thoughtful too.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods
This cute little cabin has everything you need for a great stay in northeast Vermont. It was super clean and exactly as described. Andrew was a great host. We really appreciated being able to bring our two Great Danes along, and hike from the front door. If you're looking for a little bit of "glamping," this is your spot.

Perfect get away
The host is lovely.
Cabin is clean and cozy.
Trails are a mixed bag. To the lookout is very passable but the others seem to be getting overgrown. The lookout is spectacular.
Location is IDEAL. We drove all around northern VT and all over the white mountains. Beauty in every direction.

While I totally respect the guest's ability to review the stay I am not sure what they are referring to when they say it is "over-hyped". The cabin is set on a beautiful 200 acre property that is totally secluded. Cabin is totally stocked with everything one might need for a weekend or month stay. Fiber internet keeps you connected to the world even though we are off-grid. Solar, wind and hydro power this beautiful space and miles of private hiking trails leave the yard up to beautiful lookouts. There is a private waterfall for guests to enjoy. I respect the guest but he did not venture onto the trails or do anything besides go out each morning and come back late each night. This doesn't property does not merit this type of review. Come experience for yourself the beauty of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

Winter Getaway!
we had a great stay at the cabin. It is just as described. We hiked up to the overlook on a beautiful bluebird day and were treated to views of the Green Mts. The second day we went for the short 2-mile ride over to Cow Mountain Pond. A must see during your visit. We had the park to ourselves! Overall, a quiet, comfortable place to stay. We look forward to the next visit. only suggestion, if you are visiting during cold weather bring a pair of slippers or heavy sock. The cement floor can be chilly.

Excellent for some time away
My spouse and I needed a night away and this Vbro was the perfect spot. It’s next to the property managers house, but other than that is totally remote. The cabin was clean and cozy, and the woodstove was the perfect touch. Being able to explore private trails with our dogs was the best part of the trip - the lookout trail is STUNNING!! These are private trails so don’t expect them to be as maintained as public ones, but I think that’s part of the charm. The property manager was fabulous. Super easy check in and check out, unbelievably accommodating, and chatted with us about the renewable energy on the property. He was also incredibly respectful of our space - except for us reaching out we never saw/heard from him so it really felt like we were in our own little mountain oasis. We were only there for a night, but if we were there for longer we would’ve explored the nearby towns and lit the available campfire (he provides the wood for the campfire and the woodstove while a lot of places don’t).We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay!

DO NOT RESERVE- overpriced ,dirty, not as described
Host was not ready for our arrive time of 3:00
Host property is VERY (maybe 10 ft)close to the cabin.
Dirty inside and outside of the cabin along with-dirty linens-pots and pan, ( we made sandwiches ) hair in shower and sink, 5 filled poop bags outside the door(GROSS)so-called patio covered with leaves and trash.
We did having sleeping bags with us so slept on floor., due to the dirty linen. We had traveled 5 hours to get to the cabin. e did not enjoy our 2 days stay. It caused stress rather than providing relaxation. This is a bait and switch. I WOULD LIKE OUR FUNDS RETURNED!

I am not sure where this guest stayed but it surely wasn't at our cabin! This review was posted in October for a stay that supposedly happened in August. There is no patio area and the cabin is over 100ft away from the main residence. Cabin is immaculately cleaned and maintained for best guest experience. We are in a remote part of Vermont with great access to hiking trails (on the property) and skiing nearby. Bed is beyond comfortable and it is a very cozy setting. Come see for yourself! And please read the other reviews. Currently trying to get VRBO to remove this.

Midweek getaway
This place is a little gem! It's a new rental and the property owner has lots of great ideas and improvements for the future. It is off the beaten path and is surrounded by beautiful views. There are great hiking trails leading to super lookout spots just outside your door. We found it easy to get to the nearest town (Lancaster) for anything we needed. Drew the owner made good recommendations for skiing and food & bvg in the area. It was a joy having a pup onsite too! Their dog "Honey" is a sweetie!
Couple things that I'm glad I took: My slippers:) and some extra linens for kitchenette and bathroom. Being it was the first time at the property and not knowing exactly what to expect.
The reason for my 4-star review in cleanliness is because it was dusty. I suspect because of the wood stove used to heat it. I heat with wood at home so I am well aware of the dust factor and upkeep.
Overall, it was a super experience and we plan on going back. We have already recommended it to others!

Stars in the sky
The stars were the most memorable part of our stay. After the rainstorm the night before, the night sky was crowded with stars and shooting meteors, something we will not forget.
The pine cabin was clean and rustic, excellent hot water and water pressure.
Pots and pans great quality to cook with.
Holiday dishes could be replaced with neutral ones and ones without cracks in cups. Bedding and pillows on couch and bed could also be replaced with less worn new ones (we slept in sleeping bags we brought, on top of bed). New dish drain towel would be most welcomed (we didn't use it due to its age/appearance; we used paper towels instead to catch dish water). Some arborvitaes planted between main house and cabin would create some welcomed privacy. Some lawn care to create a beautiful view from the cabin window would not go amiss. We tried the trails but they appeared to be perhaps damaged from storms. The cabin is off-grid, so be ready to conserve.
That said, we were very grateful for a pet-friendly low-key clean location. It was quiet overall except for an occasional late night car driving in to the main house just a few feet away. It was also easy to find. We loved the smell of the pine wood walls and ceilings.

I would like to comment that I take cleaning and guest privacy as the top priorities. The cabin is professionally cleaned after each stay and clean linens are always replaced on the bed and in the bathroom. I constantly replace and update things as they get worn.
While I do live next door I am not around for the most part during 90% of guest stays as I work full time. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by coming home from work at night.
Trails are upkept to the best of my ability and offer stunning private lookout vistas of Mt Washington. You will not find this anywhere else. Especially a place that is pet friendly and offers you private nature trails for walking your pets without ever seeing another soul. The historic rainfall and storms this summer have left scattered debris and down trees at times. I am not always able to go out after each storm.
This place offers ultimate privacy with no neighbors for miles and 200 acres of woodland. It is a sanctuary I treasure and enjoy sharing with guests.

Breath taking views.
It was absolutely beautiful. The owner was nice. Beautiful little cabin, the view of the mountains were breath taking. We did a little exploring on the property. We whated to go to the overlook but the snow and some ice stopped us because we were not familiar with the terrain. So we took a side of caution and decided not to risk it. We want to go back mid spring and do the overlook. It was a great getaway!!

Deep wood getaway
We spent three nights at this property that is located bout 7mi from the nearest town on 200 acres with private trails, two ponds and a waterfall. The cabin is well built with propane hot water and heat, as well as an excellent wood stove, small kitchen and closed-in bathroom with shower.
We walked straight out the front door to several trails on property. Our dog was super happy to run off-leash in a safe environment. The property is far off to avoid secondary light and the little night sky we saw was spectacular.
The closest town is 7mi/15min away, great bakery, restaurant/brewery and supermarket. We prepared almost of all of our meals on site with gas burner and pots/pans available (bring your own seasonings!)
Definitely recommend this, even in winter as a quiet oasis and retreat.

À propos de l’hôte
Hôte : Andrew Baldassarre
My name is Drew and I am very excited to be able to host guests at my house here in Vermont. I am a native of Connecticut but have lived all over the United States and internationally in six different countries. I am a language teacher but also an avid outdoor enthusiast. I enjoy talking to my guests when there is time and sharing time on this incredible property.
Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement
I purchased the property in September of 2020 with the idea of creating a unique rental destination close to skiing and hiking in the White Mountains. The property itself is unique in that it has it's own trails which include beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. You can come here and stay on the property for an entire weekend or venture out to nearby recreation spots.
