We loved the cabin but the heat/air was not good. It was so hot in the bedrooms that I left there sick as well as 2 others. It definitely sent my sinuses into an inflamed mess. The hallways were ice cold but the rooms were so hot. Nothing we did helped

Thank you for taking the time to share this. I’m so sorry you weren’t feeling well — sinus and temperature changes can be rough in the cold weather between outside and inside, especially with heaters. I wish we had known while you were there because we would’ve happily assisted. The cabin does have three HVAC units and also fans in each bedroom, and they’re serviced routinely, the upstairs rooms can warm faster than the hallways, especially when it’s cold outside. We’re glad to hear you loved the cabin itself and hope you’ll visit again so we can make your next stay perfect!

Gatlinburg Vacation at Hoobear Lodge

The house was excellent, plenty of beds and bathrooms. The view of the mountains and the town were amazing, and the town was only a short drive away. The visiting bears were exciting.

Christmas Getaway

Lovey home, easy access into home. Just a little far to walk to town though. Downhill would be ok but coming back would be too hard on older people.

Thanks Judy! We are less than half a mile to the strip from the property. As it is the mountains - it is not a flat road down - so that would have to be taken into consideration for especially on the way back. When we are there we have someone drive back down after and grab the ones who might have trouble.

Spring Break 2025

This trip was put together at the last minute. The cabin was pretty much as described. Lots of room for everyone to spread out. Had a little trouble figuring out how to get the cable to work on the tv's. Owner was always quick to respond when contacted. We did have a bear and a cub visit us one night when we were in the hot tub. My only negative is the road getting up tp the cabin.

Thanks! Glad I could assist over the phone with the TV! The road is a very short drive up from downtown - I know when your not use to mountain roads can be tough. It has two switchbacks that if you take slowly it is easy!

Great house for family gathering

Our family of 9 adults and 5 children had a great time at this house. The location is convenient and the house had everything we needed. Everyone had their own space and large area to gather together. The only thing to consider is how comfortable you feel around bears. There were 4 bears and a mother with 4 cubs that visited the property every day and night. Don’t leave any food in your car and look out the door before going outside. Our family enjoyed the adventure most days. I would not hesitate staying here again.

Amazing place everything you would possibly need for your stay great hot tub and nice firepit to sit and chat kids loved all the games and all had their own room and bathroom and to top it off we saw a bear right out the door it is very special place and would sure come back

Perfect for our group!

We had 18 people stay here together for our daughters cheer competition. It was the perfect set up and location to the convention center and down! Great time was had by all! We even had a visit from a bear!

Fantastic cabin stay

We had an amazing stay at this cabin with our group of 18! The spacious master suites provided the adults with plenty of comfort, and the thrill of spotting bears nearby added an unforgettable touch to our trip. However, we decided not to use the fire pit to roast marshmallows for this reason! The cabin's convenient proximity to town made it easy to explore local attractions. The owner was also very responsive. Highly recommend!

Torbet family vacation 2022

We had a great time at Hoo Bear Lodge. We had 4 Bear sightings during our stay, which we all really enjoyed. The lodge was comfortable for all of us. The kids had the lower level to play and sleep in, which gave the adults the main floor for relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.

2024 Family long weekend getaway!

There were 17 of us total, five were children! The house was even more beautiful in person! It was plenty big for my family and met our needs. I will definitely be going back next year!

Family vacation

We needed a cabin close to gatlinburg strip and Mt Leconte. This home was the perfect location! Very spacious and well suited for a large gathering. All the bedrooms are private and have their own bathrooms which was really nice. The property is beautiful and upscale decor and amenities. We had a wonderful time and look forward to going back!

Long Weekend with Friends

All around great experience! We had a group of 19 adults and there was plenty of space for all of us. The cabin is beautiful both inside and out. The views of the mountains are also incredible. Swim spa was a hit with the group and a major plus for this property! Can’t beat the location also. You will be close enough to everything in downtown Gatlinburg, but still feel the seclusion of a mountain cabin as other cabins are a good distance apart. Hosts are kind, responsive, and do a wonderful job making this property feel like a home for your stay! 10/10 would stay here again and I recommend this property for any large group.

We fell in love with the property - when we first looked at it it was a 3/2 home that had so much charm - situated in the best area of Gatlinburg with frequent bear visits and wildlife. We took over a year to completely renovate the property and do an addition of 4 extra bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

You are right in the middle of the action of Gatlinburg - but feel completely remote in the smoky mountains. You are also right by the entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park. This is the best location in town - with mountain views and easy access to downtown, the pkwy, Pigeon Forge, Smoky Mountains, and all the area has to offer.
