Birthday getaway

We traveled to Fredericksburg to celebrate a birthday and wanted accommodations that provided an outdoorsy feel. This home met all of our expectations. It was very cozy and provided plenty of space for us all to enjoy.

Oasis in Fredericksburg

We were thrilled with our stay at the Farmhouse (located behind Das Peach Haus). It is an oasis with real farmhouse sounds on or adjacent to the property. Chickens (and roosters) in a coop and wildlife (blue heron, muskrats, frogs) near the pond every day. Even Percy the Peacock visited us regularly on the back porch! Vintage farmhouse layout, but each bedroom had its own bathroom. Less than 2 mile walk to Main St (but driving is advised), yet you feel you are in the country. We'll stay here next year on our annual visit to Fredericksburg!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Good but could use a few tweaks - master shower needs caulking and had bugs, lights in kitchen and dining room need to be addressed. Need aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Guest house upstairs should be very clearly stated that outside stairs are required to get to bathroom and must walk through the downstairs bedroom! House could use deep clean - found garbage behind tv and in couches. Couldn’t use outdoor porch fans - appears to be broken. Need more wash clothes. Need hangers!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spacious farmhouse with all the amenities. Loved the property - the firepit, seeing the chickens and deer, and fishing in the pond. We enjoyed cooking/grilling at the house. The Sunday House was perfect too. Just know that the upstairs bedroom is separate from the downstairs bed/bath.

What a gem!

My husband, our friends, and I had such a wonderful time here! We each had our own space since they stayed in the cottage which wasn't attached to the house and it was only five minutes to downtown. And all on 5 acres with total privacy. We enjoyed watching the animals in the morning (squirrels, turtles, birds, chickens, deer, sheep, cows) but there was no smell like you can get on some more rustic locations. ;) We had what we needed. It's charm is that it isn't trying to be showy. Lots of comfortable furniture, old heirlooms, etc dot the house which we found charming. There were high quality soaps and lotions provided (Hummingbird Farms, lavender, awww) and we thick towels. If you have children, there is a treehouse out back. I've been looking for a place like this for a long time. We've been coming to Fredericksburg for almost 20 years (about once very couple years) and this was the best we've ever experienced. We played games, had nice long talks over dinner and watched the sun rise with acres out back to stare it. Thank you for sharing your family home with us!
