Mountain Views near Cottonwood Canyon State Park

This comfortable home sits on 84 acres, we are a working wheat farm so equipment may be near the shop to look at. With windmills to the east and mt. Hood to the west there will be some spectacular sunsets and sunrises. There are two stories with a full kitchen on each level. You will be 17 miles from the park, which has awesome hikes, and 8 miles from the town of Condon. The painted hills is to the south of Condon

The home was very clean and comfortable. It was one of the best Christmas’ ever! Our host was very accommodating. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises! Our grandson loved the local wildlife and exploring the property! The firepit was amazing.

Great, quiet, weekend getaway. We were looking for something out of the way to avoid the hustle and bustle of life. The house fit the bill perfectly. Host was responsive, informative, and gracious. All in all - perfect weekend.

Wonderful retreat!

I threw a little bachelorette retreat/party for a friend and we all had a really wonderful stay. The property is beautiful, and the home had everything we needed and more! It was a really great space for a gathering, and sitting around the fire pit on the patio on a cool and windy March evening was the highlight of our evening. The host was so helpful and responsive, this was truly one of the best rental experiences I’ve ever had! I will be keeping this place in mind for any future vacations/retreats!

Possibly the perfect spot for an Astrophotography trip from Portland

The house is great—always very clean, and it’s super comfortable. The grills are very nice and make it quick and easy to cook and clean up. There’s a parking area in the back next to a porch that’s under a deck (so shaded) and is perfect for staging gear. There are other places to set up if you want completely unobstructed horizon-to-horizon views. It’s between low hills, so even though maps say it’s Bortle 2.5, i think it’s 2. Maybe Bortle 1.

Basketball tournament in Fossil

Our sons played in a tournament in Fossil. This house was about 35-40 minutes away, but was super easy to get to off the highway. The house accommodated our 2 families perfectly without feeling we were on top of each other.

Annual Hunting trip

Another great year in this great house! The owners make everything so easy and the house is always in great condition! We take up 8 to 10 guys for our annual bird hunting trip. This house accommodates everybody just fine! Lots of room and supplies for the whole group. Would recommend this house to anybody who’s looking for A house in Gilliam county for a large group. We will be back next year

It was so nice! The house was spotless and it had all the modern comforts you would expect. The views around the property were breath taking. The NIGHT SKY! wow. We sat on the deck loungers at night. It was the first time my kids got to see the milky way and so many satellites zooming by we lost count. During our stay we drove to the painted hills one day and the canyon the next. It was perfect. Beds were supper comfy and the grounds are well kept. The host even had a brownie for us waiting upon arrival. Also check out is a comfy 1 PM! supper nice of them.

Highly recommend!

We were in Oregon for our granddaughter’s wedding. Both our sons and family were with us. The beds are awesome and my youngest son absolutely did all the cooking on flat top out back. Location was easy to find. We all agreed we will come back to this location. Thank you Barbara for offering this property.

Such a Wonderful Stay!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The house was comfortable, clean and nicely stocked for our needs. It’s a great location to Cottonwood Canyon, Cordon town, and John Day Fossil Beds. We would definitely stay again when visiting!

Lovely Oasis

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home is quite large and as we explored, it seemed to get bigger. It is well appointed and very clean. The yard is well-kept and we enjoyed sitting in the lounge chairs in the late afternoon. We felt very safe and the area is so quiet that we quickly felt very relaxed and slept well with no noise. This home is truly a home away from home. My husband said we have to return from Colorado as soon as we can for the delicious brownies!

This is a working farm. There will sometimes be equipment to look at. There are 84 acres to wander about or walk the gravel county road by the house to the head Ferry Canyon.
You will be 8 miles from Condon, which has a wonderful museum, local shops and lots of old restored buildings. The airstrip is in red hawk B MOA, Seattle CNTR to check NOTAM.
