Welcome to the River's Edge! This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage located RIGHT ON Torch River was completely remodeled in 2021. All new floor to ceiling interior, new appliances, cabinets, furniture, EVERYTHING! A brand new dock with updated boat house out back. Renters of Summer 2021 were the first to experience this beautiful new cottage.

Located halfway between Torch Lake and Lake Skegemog, property has a large backyard with 100 feet of Torch River frontage. You are a 15-20 minute boat ride to the Sandbar! Perfect midway location for boat trips to Alden and Elk Rapids.

The large L-shaped dock is perfect for sitting and watching the boats go by.

Cottage is air conditioned and equipped with WiFi.

**PONTOON BOAT AVAILABLE! ** Don't have a boat? Don't want the hassle of bringing yours? There is a beautiful 2020 24 foot Avalon Pontoon boat available for rent. The boat will be waiting for you in the boat house. Please message me prior to booking and I will send you a link to the website with all of the information about the boat. PRICE IS SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER THAN AREA RENTALS! If you end up renting at another property, feel free to reach out to inquire about boat availability.

Fun up north week

Great location with a surprising amount of room! The house was super clean and in great location! We were able to take the short boat ride to Torch lake and also enjoyed swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding in the river.

Great Place on Torch River!

This is a wonderful place to stay right on Torch River! The house has been newly renovated and is in beautiful and clean condition. Its location is extremely convenient to Torch Lake and to Elk Lake! Spend some fun times sitting on the dock watching boats go by, take a nice swim, or kick back in the evening around a nice bonfire. Just a great family place! We will definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at Torch River! The house was perfect for our family. We were able to make great memories with grandparents. It’s a great distance to the Torch Lake sandbar too. We hope to return again next summer!

Perfect location

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Torch River Cottage. The place was in a great location, very clean and updated, and had everything we needed for our stay. A definite bonus with the ability to rent a pontoon boat with a boat dock located right at the cottage. Owners were very friendly and responsive. We definitely plan on going back.

Best VRBO experience!!

This is the best home in a great location. The home is clean and has all you need. A great yard, dock, kayaks, burn pit, deck, sunroom, mud room, grill. Host is easy and friendly to work with. We had a great time boating, fishing, swimming and visiting local towns and restaurants.

Excellent location. Enjoyed the house, plenty of room, clean and fully functioning. Using the pontoon was alot of fun. Thanks for going over the navigation with us Adam, worked great. We went to all the lakes, had a good time.

Family Gathering

We had a great week on the river! So fun to spend the day on the boat cruising around Torch Lake, and the spend the evening sitting outside around the fire. Such a great location. Cozy cabin feel inside, too! We will be back for sure!

Perfect place for a relaxing vacation

This property is one of the best I’ve ever booked! Very clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing family vacation! The quiet of the river, the proximity to 3 different lakes (including Torch Lake), the deck (we ate out on the deck every evening), and the fire pit for evening conversations. The boat was the icing on the cake - to be able to take it out whenever we wanted was worth every penny of the rental cost. Would definitely stay here again!

Relaxing on the River

We stayed for two weeks at this amazing place. It was so much fun watching the boats go by on the way to Torch and other lakes. The kids loved the boat and the bunk room. The house was great and made an excellent place for our family. We can't wait to return.

Torch River, Great!

I've been coming to the Torch Lake/ Elk Lake arrea for vacation since I was 5 years old (yes, since the 1950's). I'm 76 now. Good grief! But I've got to say this was the nicest, quietest, and most beautiful cottage I've ever seen.

I didn’t want to leave!

This house was perfect for us! I absolutely love it here. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The yard was perfect for my 2 yr old grandson to play in. Having the boat there for the week was amazing. I wouldn’t do it any other way! Thank you for a great week! We will be returning!!

Fantastic stay on Torch River

We had an incredible stay at this cottage on Torch River! The house was fully equipped with everything we needed for cooking and family fun, making our stay comfortable and convenient. The location was absolutely perfect, just a short boat ride away from Torch Lake and the beautiful sandbar. We took advantage of the proximity to nearby areas like Traverse City, Leland, and Sleeping Bear Dunes, making for some fantastic day trips. The kids had an absolute blast, especially with the boat and tubing adventures. This cottage offered the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy Torch Lake and its surrounding areas. We can’t wait to come back!

Torch Lake Vacation

We were so impressed with our stay at River’s Edge. Such a perfect location and beautiful property. Very Clean. Adam and Dave were quick to respond to any questions and were so helpful. We loved being able to rent the pontoon right along with the house for the week and at a great price compared to other Marina’s costs. They have thought of everything and this house was so well stocked. We so appreciated the attention to detail and ensuring the needs of their guests were taken into account. Thank you for a great week at Torch Lake!

Torch River Cottage and Pontoon

Adam was a great host to work with he. Adam was very responsive to any emails or texts sent to him. The house was very clean and ready for our stay. Everything was in good working order (A/C, Dishwasher, Washer and Dryer, Range/Oven, Microwave). The house was stocked with dish soap, hand soap, washing machine tide pods, dishwasher detergent, fabric softener for dryer, kleenex, paper towels, trash bags, and bath linens). The kitchen was stocked with all of the necessary items to cook, serve and eat on. The BBQ grill was clean and ready for use. The fire pit was great for those cooler evenings once the sun was gone. The pontoon boat was great. We took it out everyday to the torch lake sand bar. We also took the boat to the dockside grill on Torch lake. The boat was well maintained and we had no issues driving it or parking it on the dock. The house is only a 20-30 minute drive to many restaurants, breweries, wineries, distilleries, gas stations and grocery stores. We will definitely come back to Torch Lake and hope to stay at the Torch River Cottage. Thanks, Adam.

Great Updated Michigan Cottage!

We had a group of 8 adults, 4 couples (late 20's, late 50's) Everything we needed to enjoy our trip was available at the cottage. Plenty of linens, Adirondack chairs for the fire pit area, kayaks, cleaning supplies, a full binder of literature on the numerous activities, dining and events in the surrounding area (extremely helpful!) The cottage is inviting and comfortable...we felt very much "at home". The bunk room can be a bit tight for two adult couples. We chose to pitch a tent in the very large backyard along the river for one couple. Turns out they thoroughly enjoyed being that close to the river and hearing the sounds of the river while sleeping. The dock and covered boathouse was a bonus! We sat on the dock in the mornings watching the boats and kayaks passing by while enjoying our coffee and in the evenings having cocktails before dinner. Surprisingly, we sat in the pontoon boat under the boathouse during the really hot parts of the day and once when it was raining outside. We rented the pontoon boat for the week and were very satisfied with the boat. It was roomy and could have set another 4 people comfortably. We are boaters so it was super easy to handle the boat. Even if you aren't a seasoned boater, driving a pontoon boat is relatively easy. The dock had the padding needed to keep the boat safe while docking. Getting the necessary instructions from the owner was a breeze and only to about 20 minutes. He came right to the cottage to meet us.

Great Cottage and Perfect Location

This completely renovated, cozy cottage is perfectly situated on the Torch River with great boat access to Torch Lake, Clam Lake, the Grass River and Lake Belaire. Also easy access to Lake Skegemog and Elk Lake. Large flat lawn that is wonderful for corn hole and a nice bonfire pit. Hosts were great!

Fantastic Cottage

We had a wonderful, relaxing week at the River's Edge. The cottage was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the sun porch and having dinner on the deck. It was really nice to be able to walk out of the cottage and get on the pontoon boat to spend the day on the water at Torch Lake. Adam was very responsive to our questions before and during our stay. We absolutely loved it here! The home, the location, the pontoon...everything! We couldn't have asked for a better trip! Super easy boat ride to Torch Lake and the sandbar. Communication with Adam was phenomenal, no complaints! Will definitely be returning next year!

Great Vacation home!!

This is one great property! Everything you need is there! The home is newly remodeled and very clean. All new appliances, very comfortable beds and very peaceful! We really loved sitting out on the enclosed patio every evening watching the boats go down the river. Adam is great to work with! He met us there at check in to go over pontoon boat. And you really should rent the pontoon!! Myself, husband, son and parents had a very nice time at Torch Lake for the week and will be back!!

Torch Sand LLC is a family owned business created specifically to rent this property. We have been vacationing in Northern Michigan for over 30 years. Our personal family cottage on a nearby lake lead us to visits to Torch Lake. After a few years of searching we finally found the perfect property on the Chain of Lakes.

We have made regular visits to Torch Lake for many years. Knowing the area well now, we know the value of the South end of the lake. Everyone wants to be near the Sandbar or the quaint Northern Michigan towns of Alden and Elk Rapids! This property gives you the peaceful setting of river life with quick access to the hot spots on the Chain of Lakes. Boat trips to Alden (25 minutes) and Elk Rapids (40 minutes) are vey reasonable. Properties at the North end include a 19 mile boat trip just to reach the South end.
