This is a beautiful, completely remodeled apartment on the ground level of a single family home. The setting is perfect for a romantic get-away or two friends on an adventure. You'll have reserved parking and private electronic entrance. The bedroom has a king sized bed and a comfy, full sized leather futon is in the living room. You'll enjoy high quality linens in the bedroom and bathroom.
The covered patio is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or relax after a busy day. An outdoor swing adds to your relaxation and enjoyment. The yard has comfortable seating, a propane grill, privacy, pine trees, and a great view of the town of Custer and beautiful Black Hills. The bedroom has sliding glass doors that open to a small, private yard.
Enjoy the ambiance of a candlelit fireplace (please, no real fires because of forest fire danger.) Washer and dryer for your convenience. The kitchen has an induction stove top, large stainless sink, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, coffee pot, tea kettle, blender, and crock pot. If there is anything else you need, just ask and we'll do our best to make it happen. A welcome snack, coffee and teas are provided.
You'll be walking distance to downtown attractions, excellent restaurants, live entertainment, and the Michelson Trail.
Custer State Park is just 5 minutes by car or, hop on your bikes and get there via the Michelson Trail. Custer is a wonderful place and we're happy to recommend activities and businesses we know you'll enjoy.

The property owners reside on the upper level of the home. We are here if you need us but also respect your privacy. Because we're in a residential neighborhood, we request quiet hours from 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM. No parties. Children must be supervised at ALL TIMES. We require NO CLEANING FEE so respectfully ask that you treat our home in a considerate manner during your stay and upon departure.

The place was very nice and well stocked with all you might need. Everything was comfy and the owner left us fresh eggs and cookies. We would recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

Beautiful Comfortable and Convenient
This property exceeded our expectations - so comfortable, personal touches, fully equipped kitchen, very much like home. It was in a great location for our SD day trips - very near Custer Park. Great Stay! Great Host! Highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful stay
We have stayed in many rentals across the US and internationally and the Hideaway ranks in our top ten. It is well appointed and comfy. Candace provides so many nice touches including fresh eggs, cookies and even frosted beer mugs! Highly recommend a stay here.

Black Hills fall getaway
Everything was perfect. Location is ideal for seeing sights in Black Hills and Devil's Tower is under a 2 hour drive.

This is one of the nicest Air B&B’s we have ever had the pleasure of booking. Candace thought of everything! It is very clean, the bed is extremely comfortable and the location can’t be beat. We had a great time visiting Custer State Park and the Black Hills! We felt right at home and Candace provided recommendations as well as a thorough guest information book. This place has been our favorite VRBO stay by far. Candace is the sweetest and you feel like you are home from the moment you arrive. We loved getting to spend time in the Black Hills and Custer. We spent most of our time hiking, and Candace was really sweet and gave us some great recommendations. There are deer that frequent the property almost daily. It was such a joy to watch them. If we could give ten stars, we would.

Exceeded expectations!
This was a great home base for a few days while we explored Custer. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed coffee and eggs outside each morning. Thank you for a great stay!

Fantastic Property
The Hillside Hideaway was a wonderful place to stay. It is a cozy retreat in a quiet neighborhood and has all the amenities of home. It is very clean, the kitchen is well-equipped, the shower is wonderful, and the bed is very comfortable. The host has many welcoming touches (like fresh flowers on the table!) and has thought of everything. Highly recommend staying here!

We loved staying here for our trip to South Dakota .Relaxing home base after a day of activities. Located walking distance to downtown Custer and a short drive to all the local attractions. Wonderful hostess! Highly recommend!
