Nestled in the heart of Island Park, Idaho at the foot of the majestic Sawtelle Peak, Old West Escapes resembles an 1880's Old West Town with the comforts of home. We invite you to stay with us while enjoying your Yellowstone vacation.

Great Trip!

This was the perfect place to stay for our family of six! The property was extremely clean. The beds were comfortable (even the hide-a-bed!) It was just the perfect spot while we explored Yellowstone and Island Park.

The view from this property was beautiful! The inside felt fresh and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great! We would love to stay here again.

A great central location!

Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cabin! It was just what we thought it would be! Quiet, peaceful, clean and had everything we needed. We also had a grocery store, (Corn Dog) food truck and a lodge for breakfast and gas just right up the road! I’m going to add a pic of what I saw while sitting on my porch late in the evening! I’m not sure what its called but it was beautiful! We was able to visit Yellowstone, Earth Quake Lake, Ennis MT, Virginia City, MT, Madison, Rexburg ID, and enjoyed the best made burger at Juds in Ashton ID. Also visited Mesa Falls!

AWESOME SETUP!!

We loved the feel of the western theme, and it was just right for us as far as space goes. We enjoyed the rustic interior and having appliances and modern features made for nice evenings after playing all day. We will definitely be back!!

New treasure!

We are a family of 6 with young adult children visiting Yellowstone NP. The Livery Stable was great! We had plenty of room and it was very clean. Nice decor also. Good location to visit the park with just a 25 minute drive. We enjoyed some of the local restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked with not only the necessities but also coffee, creamer, and dish detergent. The views from the porch were lovely and we saw a couple of antelopes dancing through. The neighborhood/area was very peaceful and felt safe. Our hosts, David and Julie, were very responsive and gave ample instructions for easy check in and out. The only thing I would recommend about the property would be a half bath either in the cabins or maybe an “outhouse” considering the theme of the Old West Escapes. This would help with emergent bathroom issues. 😊 Thank you for an awesome place to land while we enjoyed our vacation and your beautiful landscape! I would definitely stay here again.

Road trip

My brother and I stayed at this great little cabin. We were exploring Yellowstone on this trip and this cabin was just far enough way from the West Yellowstone to keep us out of the of the crowds when we needed to be. The cabin was cozy and clean. We had a great time.

Wide open spaces!

This was supposed to be a home base for exploring Yellowstone
.Due to the park closing, our Yellowstone plans were altered but our stay at this home made the trip great. Our kids loved running in the backyard and thought it was awesome to stay in an “old west” town. The property was clean, and David and Julie were gracious to allow us an early check-in since the cleaners had already finished. The beds were comfortable and having a washer/dryer was very convenient. While in Island Park, we enjoyed exploring Big Springs, renting ATVs, and touring the lower loop of Yellowstone. Would definitely stay here again.

This was the perfect place to stay

This was perfect for us as a couple. The cabin would comfortably accommodate 2 couples or a small family. It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We especially appreciated having a washer and dryer. We came to experience the parks. The west entrance to Yellowstone is about a 25 minute drive. Most of the attractions in Yellowstone are about a 1 to 2 hour drive. Grand Teton is about a 2 1/2 hour drive. We were pleasantly surprised to find there are a lot of things to do right around Island Park. We took a couple of days to explore the local state and forestry parks, and ATV trails. We also saw a few moose down by the river. There is a good ATV rental place right down the street. There are several other adventure guides in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend this property.

Great family cabin near Yellowstone

This is a fairly new, terrific small home with a lot of great touches that make it feel very much like a cabin, but with every modern convenience you would want as well. It's obvious a lot of time and effort went into the design and construction, like matching woodwork everywhere, inc. doors and beds. Super clean! Very nicely decorated with an old west theme. Very easy to find. Pretty close to Yellowstone. Owners were great about contacting us at just the right time with very clear instructions. We'll definitely go back!

Beautiful and comfortable

Our stay at the Livery Stable in Island Park was wonderful. The home was clean and comfortable. The owners made themselves available if we needed anything. It’s a beautiful home and was just as it was pictured. The views were beautiful. We had a great stay.

David is a licensed contractor with a background in residential construction and home remodeling, Julie just finished a Bachelor’s degree in Business from BYU-Idaho. They thought it was the right combination to begin building their dream together. In 2018, they found the perfect property in Island Park and began building Old West Escapes. David and Julie, along with their daughters, have worked together to bring this dream to reality. They hope you enjoy your time in Island Park, as you “experience the west” with them.
