Overall the place was very nice, the kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub. Loved the game room and the field for the kids to play in was fantastic. Also the views and weather were perfect. The only disappointment was, one of the beds had chips in it (from the previous renters) that we had to clean and under the couch cushions left a lot to be desired for cleanliness. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

Thank you, Nick. We’re happy your family enjoyed the pool, hot tub, game room, outdoor space, and beautiful views. We’re sorry you found food in a bed and that cleaning under the couch cushions was overlooked. You should not have had to clean those areas yourselves. We appreciate your detailed feedback and are glad you enjoyed your stay overall.

Great experience in Franconia Notch

This was our 2nd year renting this house for a family reunion, and again we found it to be the perfect venue for our family ranging in age from 4 to 73. The weather was perfect, and between the pool and the hot tub, the young kids were outside the whole time, easily supervised by the older kids and adults. The main gathering room was also perfect for evenings playing games and watching TV. The views and grounds are also special. I definitely recommend it.

This property was great for a large family gathering. unfortunately we lost power the morning after our check in and being in the mountains, not one of us was able to receive cell service. we had to go to town to access internet to notify management of the problem (due to weather, so no one's to blame here) and they kept in contact to let us know when the power returned. The property was not exactly as expected due to the wide angle photography used and was smaller in areas than shown. also, now that two of the bedrooms must be walked through in order to access the bathroom, so you will awaken those persons each time. also, one room has a glass door, so there is NO privacy in that bedroom as anyone can see in. with 10 adults we ran out of hot water if more than three showered in succession. Having said that, we loved the overall main room seating of the house and enjoyed our stay. management handled our small problems efficiently.

We all had a great time. Everyone was comfortably accommodated. Lovely house, beautiful property. The pool area could have been a little cleaner, but that was not a big flaw.

Unique and beautiful home

We loved our stay here. It was convenient we could bring our dog. Home was clean and spacious. The roof was leaking into upstairs office. Could use a new roof.

Fabulous!

This was our second summer here and we once again had a fabulous week! The view is mesmerizing, the pool perfect for ages 3 to 73, and the house is a perfect mix of old and new! Thank goodness for the AC as we were always comfortable. All 14 of us had a relaxing vacation and there is so much to do in the area that no one ever got bored! We can't wait for next year!

I really loved this house

The house itself is beautiful. We brought some piano music and tried out the piano, swam in the pool, relaxed in the hot tub. We enjoyed the charming and funny notes about various things in the house. The view from the dining room is hard to beat. We did the Franconia Falls hike (/walk) and swam in the cold river, and checked out Flume Gorge. Kids & adults both loved this place. (Note there's no A/C, if you're planning a trip during a heat wave! )

It would be unfair to say it’s rare when a property comes as advertised but when a rental is exactly as described, especially one to accommodate 14 people ranging in age from 3 to 73, it is both a pleasant surprise and a relief. The Holden Frost House checked all our boxes and exceeded our expectations. The layout was perfect, almost inn-like, with a great room for everything from morning coffee and reading to evening TV watching and games. The bedroom layout allowed each family to have their own area, including the two oldest folks to have some seclusion at the north end of the house. The game room kept the kids occupied in the evening and was a nice option during the one rainy day we had.The kitchen and all the appliances were clean and updated. There was an abundance of dishes, glasses and silverware for use by our tribe that included five kids who had no problem using multiple glasses and dishes whenever the feeling moved them. Thank goodness for a dishwasher. The property is gorgeous, the pool refreshing, and the hot tub inviting for end-of-the-day relaxation. The location allowed the younger families to have day trips to Lost River Gorge and Santa’s Village. And just before the entrance of the driveway, is Robert Frost’s homestead and museum. The property managers were very responsive both before and during our visit. All in all, we could not have had a more perfect site for our annual extended family gathering and are planning to return next year.

Great space for a large family

We rented the home for our family of 8 (adult children and partners) plus a newborn to attend a wedding held nearby. The location was private and stunning yet close to the venue, and the space was more than adequate. We all enjoyed learning about the connection with Robert Frost!

Once in a lifetime family vacation

We visited this warm, welcoming, historic property over Columbus Day weekend to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday. We had 6 adults & 6 kids under the age of 12. The location of the home was incredible with gorgeous views of the white mountains and a short drive to a wonderful grocery store with organics and many of our favorite activities in the area: hiking, top of Loon Mountain visiting the Glacial Caves, and simply driving through the gorgeous foliage. We felt like being in the house was vacation enough. Plenty of space for 3 families to have their own nooks, the house was a delight to explore, and we all enjoyed a little hot tub at the end of the day. This house and the experience is truly a gem and with a pool I have to imagine it is a wonderful summer retreat. I will rent here again, and again, and again. Thanks for such a great home and for welcoming dogs!

Beautiful property - lo

The house has been updated beautifully, but still maintains its old world “charm”. The bedrooms are quite large and the layout was great for three generations of our family to enjoy. Of course, “charm” comes with windows that are tough to open, bathroom doors that don’t lock, and no AC. But the beauty of the property makes up for all of those. The hot tub and fire pit being a few highlights. The kids took a few jumps into the pool. At this price point - It would be nice if the pool was heated given the temperamental New England weather. But All in all - a wonderful property, responsive team, and very likely our family will return in the future.
