Quiet creekside retreat on Lake Bob Sandlin - boat dock on property

Nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas on Lake Bob Sandlin, the retreat cottage is recently renovated and ready for guests to enjoy the peace and quiet of lakeside living at its' finest!

The cabin can sleep up to 4 guests with a full-size bed in the bedroom, and a new pull-out Sleeper Sofa (also a full/double-size mattress - sleeps 2 together). And the Living area/Kitchen has all new furniture -- including a larger fridge with separate freezer compartment.

Fully furnished with all bedding, towels and kitchen essentials including a toaster oven, coffee bar, microwave, and snacks provided. Relax on the back porch in the swing, while listening to the beautiful sounds of nature and make this a perfect getaway from all of the hustle and bustle of city life while enjoying the serenity of the outdoors.

You can enjoy the view of the lake from the porch swing while having coffee in the morning, or gazing at the sunset with your favorite libation.

Lake Bob Sandlin covers approximately 9,000 acres with 120 miles of shoreline known for excellent fishing and is home to plenty of wildlife, including herons, ducks and many other birds. And you can't miss all the deer, squirrels, and raccoons running around!

Also, since we have a private boat ramp just 2 houses away, it's perfect for anyone wanting to bring their own boat, coming for a local fishing tournament, or maybe just a weekend fishing getaway! And you can tie up at our private boat dock connected to our property.

If you're not into fishing, feel free to explore the local wineries, places to eat, antique shopping and our very own Texas Exotic Animals Zoo (texasexoticanimals.com), just minutes away. One of our favorite wineries is Los Pinos Ranch Winery, just South of Pittsburg - about 20 minutes away. Details can be provided upon booking.

Located near Mount Vernon, Mount Pleasant and Pittsburg, the Rustic Retreat cottage is 2 hours from Dallas and Shreveport. Located conveniently across the lake from Lake Bob Sandlin State Park on State Hwy 21.

The apartment is separate from the main house, very private and in a beautiful setting with lots of natural light. Although small, it is very tastefully decorated, clean, and had everything we needed. There were bottled waters in the refrigerator, coffee and tea, and even some snacks available, which was very nice. We would stay again!

My friend and I stayed for our annual fishing trip. Keeping our boat charged and parked was very easy. They had everything we needed-boat ramp and lake access included. I would absolutely stay here again!

A great place to get away not far from Dallas

This cabin was fabulous! We all had such a great time great fishing, things to do, and the bed slept wonderfully. B r y a n was a super host. If you want to get away this is the place to go. Five stars across the board!

Perfect landing spot for a weekend away

This cabin, while quite compact, was all that we needed for our long weekend. The hosts are very thorough in conveying their requests/guidelines for guests as well as any minor quirks that are helpful to know when staying at a VRBO. They were also very considerate and checked in partway through our stay to make sure everything was okay for us. I appreciated all of it. The kitchenette was well-equipped and there was a generous supply of snacks available. :)

Lovely Cottage

We spent a weekend at Lake Bob Sandlin for a friend’s wedding. R+B have a well appointed, cottage style place in a beautiful wooded lot with peek-a-boo views of the lake. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Great place to stay

Quite little cabin on the water very well kept with plenty of sites to see. The wife and I had a great relaxing weekend. 20 minutes from Mt Vernon, Pittsburgh , and Mt Pleasant. Good fishing from dock and very Close to State park Highly recommended well worth the price well worth the Drive. Good communication with owners through out the process

Comfy & Quite Place

Place is clean & nice comfy vibe! The place is well thought out with little somethings you may have forgot. Owners are very good w/communications & making sure guest are good! It was just my daughter & I & we had very comfortable stay. If I had to give a suggestion it would be turn sofa bed on other wall, so when bed out, have more walking room. Totally recommend staying here! Thx To Owners!!

Very clean with charisma and a really good value

This was a perfect spot for me and a buddy’s fishing trip! We just needed a clean place to sleep and hangout between fishing adventures, not a full lake house, so this place helped us add a day to our trip without going over the budget. The little things were included, such as toiletries, things you might “forget”, coffee, coffee accessories, even some snacks. The boat dock was key for our trip and it was ideal. Bryan was very responsive. We would definitely book here again for this type of trip. It was a very good value.

Fishing trip for the retired

Enjoyed the stay, very clean, quiet and cozy. Bryan was very hospitable and checked on us during our stay. Extra snacks, coffee, drinks provided were an unexpected extra bonus. Did a little fishing and the Lord God blessed us with a 20 lb catfish, more than enough for a fish fry. Seen deer and squirrel, beautiful scenery. Relaxed during our stay.
