Get away to the quiet and simple lifestyle here in Stowe and call the Harvest Carriage House home for a while! This adorable getaway is the smaller of the two homes on the property, yet still has a spacious interior and quaint accents that will allow you to slip into relaxation mode in no time. The main level of the home will be the hub for entertaining and whipping up delicious meals with a full kitchen, living area, two bedrooms, and access to two decks (one shared with the main house). The basement is home to the last bedroom for those that want to get a bit of privacy at the end of a full day of adventure. When everyone wants to settle down, the flatscreen TV and free WiFi will be the perfect combination for a movie night.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). We enjoyed our week in Harvest House. The house was clean and well-furnished. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well furnished with nearly everything we would want in a rental. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. It is a lovely home. We would certainly stay in Harvest House in the future. Many thanks to the owners and local crew for making us welcome in Stowe.

Eclipse Stay

My cousins and I had a great time staying here during the eclipse weekend in April. The kitchen table was well stocked with amenities, the location on a main road makes it easy to drive in and out of town and to the resorts, and the new L couch was very comfortable and a great place to hang out in the mornings and evenings. There is a hot tub on a shared deck on the property which was listed in the amenities, but later said "not for guest use." We had a nice time and would definitely stay again.

This place was a big disappointment. There was a strong mildew smell. The paint was peeling on the living room ceiling and in the hallway. The bedroom has bad water damage in the corner of the room. Most of the rooms had ether cobwebs or spider webs everywhere. The place was in a great location but the maintenance and cleanliness are lacking. The place looked super clean and well taken care of in the photos. But this was not the case in person.

Plenty of Space but place is tired

There was plenty of space and we appreciated there was plenty of wood for the fireplace and side walks were clear of snow and ice. Plenty of parking near door so easy to bring ski’s in and out of boot room. Place was very clean. However, some attention is needed to house. Kitchen was poorly equipped. We will inform management company with a list of missing items. Beds are very creaky, we had to put mattress on floor to get some rest. A little attention to some things would have gone a long way to make this cottage 100% better.

Great ski vacation

My husband and I loved the house, plenty of room, well equipped kitchen, clean room. Very convenient to the grocery store and only 15 min from the ski resort. My only suggestions are replacing missing mini blinds especially in bedroom, and get a water purifier, water had a strong iron smell and taste.

Comfortable but needs a lot of work

Let’s start with the positives, the house was spacious and comfortable. No complaints in that department. Now for the negatives, these are recommendations to the owners for what they could do to improve the home. First off, the stairs going down have no hand rails, and they can be quite slippery when walking in socks. There’s also a step going into the downstairs bedroom and a small step in the downstairs bathroom that are very easy to miss when you’re not aware they’re there - some kind of caution mark or signalization should be added to those steps to make sure guests don’t trip over them, as we did during our stay. 2. The downstairs bathroom’s shower knob doesn’t turn to the hot water side, so the shower is useless unless you’re willing to take a freezing cold shower. 3. The heater pipes can make a lot of noise, and the downstairs bedroom’s pipes woke me up several times during the nights as they can make a lot of noise. 4. Some of the windows in the place are missing blinds, and most of the existing blinds are either damaged or fairly dirty. 5. The large glass doors in the kitchen should have blinds or curtains for privacy, the house is located in a corner of a busy street and anyone driving or walking by can easily see into the kitchen. If you like privacy, this will be an issue. 6. All the beds are extremely squeaky, I mean to the point where if you move a leg and the whole bed squeaks. They’re comfortable but very loud, they will wake you up in the middle of the night every time you move. 7. The running water has a strong odor to it, smells like rusty pipes, which is bothersome especially when brushing your teeth, you don’t want bad smelling water going in your mouth. 8. Last but not least, there are no smoke detectors in the place which I thought was odd. Overall, for the price charged the place needs a lot of work. At least I had a comfortable stay despite all the negatives.

Thank you for your review, Gabriel. We appreciate your comments and are pl3ased that you enjoyed the home despite a few issues that you experienced. The hot and the cold water do both works in the shower. The heater pipes may make noise as the home is 200 years old. Our local staff is working on replacing the blinds and a covering for the door. The water is safe and in fact, we recently had plumbing replace some piping in the unit. The home has smoke detectors on every floor. Our local staff is going to discuss the beds with the owner. We appreciate your comments and allowing us to improve for our future guests and hope to host you again very soon.

Good stay

We had a good stay in this house, the only thing we would have any complaints about would be extremely squeaky beds. Both queen beds made extremely loud squeaky sound every time you would turn on the bed. It wasn’t an uncomfortable bed but the noise was a big annoyance specially in the middle of the night. Also would be helpful to have an iron there.
