The home is exactly as advertised… “beautiful, clean, spacious, and perfect” Lakeview home situated in the Cumberland mountains. To get access to the two story private dock you have to take a paved golf cart path just up the road from the house; you can walk it, or take a few trips with the complimentary golf cart to lessen the burden. Lakeview properties don’t always guarantee lake access and we are fortunate to be able to provide lake access and a private dock. It’s less convenient than a Lakefront, but just a lack of convenience shouldn’t warrant a 3 star review when the home is situated with a “perfect view” and is a “beautiful, clean and spacious home.”

We're delighted to hear that you found our home to be beautiful with a spacious layout, and we understand that accommodating large groups comfortably can be challenging, so we're pleased the property suited your needs in that regard and that we provided a clean, beautiful, lakeview home as listed. Regarding the lake accessibility, we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. We do provide a golf cart to assist guests in reaching the lake, and while we understand it may require multiple trips for larger groups, we make every effort to ensure it is clear in our listing that our home is a lakeview not a lakefront to manage expectations. What it does offer is the best view of the lake in the estate! Regarding the issue with the shower curtain, we take maintenance and repairs seriously to ensure the comfort of all our guests. Our policy, clearly outlined in our rental agreement, stipulates that guests must report any damages or issues upon arrival. During the walkthrough of our home, you made no mention of damage to the wall and shower curtain rod. It was not until the following day that significant damage to the shower curtain rod and wall was reported. This damage included a noticeable hole in the drywall from the shower curtain rod, which would have been identified and addressed by our cleaning crew during their inspection before your arrival. It is challenging for us to accept that such conspicuous damage went unnoticed upon your arrival, given its prominent nature. Our cleaning crew conducts thorough inspections between stays, and any issues of this magnitude would have been brought to our attention and promptly resolved had they occurred prior to your check-in. We stand by the integrity of our inspection process and the diligence of our team in maintaining our property to the highest standards. Upon your checkout, the cleaning crew addressed the issue with the property manager, who personally investigated the matter thoroughly and found significant damage to the shower curtain rod and drywall. Regrettably, the damage was beyond normal wear and tear and required professional drywall repair, hence the charge you mentioned. Regarding your comment about being called a liar, we regret any misunderstanding that may have occurred during your conversation. Our intention is always to address concerns respectfully and professionally. Please understand that we were not implying that you personally were dishonest. We were emphasizing that given the size of your group, it's possible that the damage occurred unintentionally by one of your 20+ guests. In conclusion, we are committed to providing precise information about our property and its amenities in our listing, which includes detailed information about lake access and the availability of a golf cart. Additionally, as we do with all of our guests, we prioritize customer service that is honest, transparent, and proactively addresses significant maintenance issues before our guests' arrival.

We are very disappointed to read this review. First, the referenced conversation is unlike how we recall; the call was initiated the day after check-in to frame the situation. The guest called the guest coordinator and upon answering the call the guest was verbally aggressive about her daughter cutting her foot. Once the coordinator was able to speak, the coordinator asked "ma'am is she ok? She quickly proclaimed, yes. The coordinator then asked the guest to please provide the name of the house they were staying in as the coordinator manages 4 (not 40) other homes. This was asked to ensure the coordinator could have a frame of reference to address the guest's complaints. After the coordinator asked the question, the guest was very rude and raised her voice and continued to focus on the broken globe (pendant light) glass that was not cleaned up and cut her daughter's foot. The coordinator remained calm and when able to speak, the coordinator continued to be apologetic about the situation, even asking again if the girl was ok and referenced the first aid kit below the sink. The coordinator then offered to send the cleaning crew back to clean again to try and right the situation. The guest declined and again raised her voice in disbelief of the situation. At no point did the guest mention to the coordinator that they will be responsible for the injuries, as they referenced in their review. There was also no discussion about removing the pendant. The coordinator did offer the extra cleaning even knowing that the pendant had been broken for a month (waiting for a back-ordered replacement), so it was highly unlikely the glass was from the globe. However, the coordinator knew suggesting that the glass was not from the pendant was only going to escalate the situation. So, the coordinator took the fault knowing the house had been cleaned multiple times, had several guests, with zero complaints about glass. The listing clearly states our house is a lake view property with a private dock with a complimentary golf cart to get to and from the house. The photo referenced regarding the dock and house is an aerial view, which is just that, it doesn't account for trees and homes on the mountain that block the view from Chasing Wake to the dock. What the beautiful home does offer, which is pictured, is an amazing view of the lake and historic jumping bridge. However, the tradeoff to this view is you are unable to see the dock, it is blocked by trees and other homes being that the house sits towards the top of the mountain in the estate. The walk to the dock is 10 minutes or you can take a 7-minute golf cart ride on the provided golf cart. There are two paths to take to the dock, the one they're referencing does have an inclined grade due to the terrain of the mountains. The entire estate uses these golf cart paths to access the docks and this is the first complaint expressing that it is treacherous...there are 12 other homes that use this path. The mountains are not flat and so steep inclines are to be expected. This is also the first complaint about the pillows and mattress. The pillows are the Big One brand from Kohl's and are only a year old. The mattresses are Sealy Euro Top and only a year old. As the guest mentioned, the dock is great, it’s a double decker dock with a slide. The house is beautiful and just as advertised with a great floor plan! I would offer that if you have concerns after reading this review to read all of our other reviews for this house and the houses referenced in the description that our guest coordinator manages... you'll find that the guest coordinator is very kind, accommodating and responsive!
