Detroit stay

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. Property was clean and easy access to stores, restaurants, and downtown Detroit...owner was very accommodating and easy to get a hold of.

Great stay and location

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this location. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The condo was cute and very well maintain. I’ll be back.

Quiet Neighborhood

Family Visit in Michiga

Very convenient location for our visit. Very nice town with all conveniences within minutes. Condo unit up-to-date and very comfortable. Plenty of kitchen supplies. All utilities in good working order. Would definitely recommend this unit to others

Family visit

Great property and very well located in Ferndale for visiting our son. As visitors from UK we struggled to get anything useful from the tv although someone had at least left their Netflix subscription open. However this was a minor issue as we were visiting our son and spent most time away from the place. Great selection of restaurants nearby too.

Average Stay

The place is in a fine location to access Detroit well A few things, not much attention to details. I.E. no wash cloths, not much sitting area, the tub wasn’t draining, very limited kitchen items, and many stairs to enter (3 flights) we were fine but if we would have rented for our parents, they would of really struggled.Communication was fine, and answered quickly when we had a question.

Good location for visiting friends

Basic townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Can walk to downtown Ferndale. Am very annoyed about the large damage deposit which was charged when I booked months ago and then took nearly 2 weeks to be refunded. Owner says it's up to VRBO. How about a hold at check in?

Hi Greg and Susan, In regards to the large deposit that is Vrbo’s optional policies. I do as well believe they have cheaper insurance options as well. I do recall being surprised just as much when we saw your reservation insurance amount. Most guest opt for a 100 insurance instead but either way to this date 100% of our guest have received their deposit back 😁

Weekend Getaway

The property looks exactly like the photos. It's a perfect distance from downtown Detroit. I will say when you walk into the unit you have to walk up multiple staircases to get to the living and bedroom area. That caught us off guard. But nothing that deterred us. Super comfy and in a good suburb of Detroit. I did reach out to the host kinda late at night and he texted me back promptly with the answers to my questions. We would 100% stay here again and are planning on it soon!

Shady owner

Owner accused of having a party and charged us for breaking a chair and paint damage to the wall. All of this is absolutely not true. We actually moved the swinging chair because they had it tight up to the wall which would cause paint damage. We never even sat in the chair! There was also a moldy orange in a vase and dangerouse long screws sticking out of the entertainment center. We left the property just how we found it and then he submits a claim for almost $400. Ridiculous.

Decent apartment / some inconveniences

Rating should be 3.5 stars. 4 adult middle aged males stayed at this Ferndale apartment. We spent the weekend at the Detroit curling club and only slept here. So It meant our needs. When we arrived there was no power to the back bedrooms and 4 or 5 space heaters were spread around the apartment. So clearly a regular furnace was not working. After 10 mins of exploring. We figured out the back bedroom space heater was tripping out power to bedrooms. That was annoying. I view a vrbo rental like a hotel room. We should not have to worry about finding a reason the power doesn’t work. And clearly they just installed the heaters shortly before we arrived, plugged them in, and left without paying attention to any possible issues. Only other issue we had was a collapsed leg on one of the main front room chairs. That only required an Allen wrench to tighten the bolt. Place was clean, had hot water and showers and everything else was fine. Nothing special, but it meant our needs.

Horrible Experience Due to Lack of Cleanliness and Transparency

The apartment itself is spacious and well-suited for two families. However, my overall experience was extremely disappointing due to serious cleanliness and safety issues.When we arrived, the apartment had not been properly cleaned. It appeared that only a partial cleaning was done, and to our shock, garbage was left inside the home. This negligence led to a very distressing incident—there were leftover chicken bones on the floor, and my 2-year-old daughter accidentally swallowed one. She began vomiting continuously, was diagnosed with food poisoning, and had to be taken to urgent care. It was a terrifying and traumatic experience for our family.In addition, there was a lack of transparency regarding parking. We were told that garage parking would cost extra, and we had to park outside unless we paid an additional fee. This information was not communicated to us in advance or mentioned in the listing, which felt very misleading.This experience was far from what we expected, and I strongly urge better maintenance and clear communication to avoid putting other guests at risk.

We were going for a graduation in Detroit. This house was a close drive to where we needed to be. The electric went off for a while but the owner messaged back and was able to give us some options on how to solve it. Overall good stay!
