Drove all the way there to find out it had been double booked
I drove all the way to this bed and breakfast from Texas and was only contacted once, confirming my payment and stay. No one contacted me after that to give me details of how to get in to the Bed and Breakfast. Once we arrived after driving four hours, there was no one to greet us, and there was another couple sitting and waiting in the front room because they, too, had arrived, and had not heard from anyone. My daughter went searching and found a sweet lady in the back who was making chocolate strawberries. I’m assuming for the breakfast. She told the other couple that they were fortunate and in luck because they had booked directly with the property. She basically told us we were out of luck and there was nothing she could do because we booked through Vrbo and Vrbo double booked, and it was the third time this week that that had happened. The property manager sent an apology and said this was out of her control as there must be a glitch in the calendar. There was absolutely no place in this entire city to stay. We sat there and called every hotel and everyone was full. We even had other representatives looking and could not find a place to stay that was not an hour and a half away. I ended up driving back home to Texas after our event and had to drive all night, pulling over multiple times to try and stay awake and ended up napping in a parking lot so I didn’t cause a wreck. I am incredibly disappointed. Do not trust this property if you book through Vrbo.
