Located at the historic Washoe Motel. Feels like a studio apartment with a cabin feel . This pet-friendly unit with knotty pine walls, kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, hot plate and coffee maker. Can accommodate 4 people and a pet! A great budget pet friendly option in Tahoe.
only 5 minutes to Camp Richardson and we are only a 10 minute drive to Heavenly. 15 minutes to beautiful Emerald Bay. Just a short walk to many restaurants including Sonny's BBQ, Margaritas and Burger Lounge.

Snow time for the dogs

This was perfect if you are going with your dogs . It was quite at night and great places near by to go snow shoeing with the dogs .

Clean and comfortable

The rooms were cute and clean. We had a pleasant and comfortable sleep there. The bathroom was clean, but banged up a little so that a hole in the wall was plugged with paper. Otherwise, it was worth the stay!

Worst experience of my life July 2023

Property manager Jeannie is not a smart person via chat. I feel like chatting with a 7 years old most of the time. Her phone # is invalid. Poor communication. I you want to enjoy your vacation, do not book here even the rate is cheap.

Worst stay

I don’t normally leave negative reviews but this place was the worst place we’ve ever stayed. It reeks of mildew that clings to your clothes. It’s old and run down, there’s holes in the bathroom wall, the shower curtain was ripped and barely functioning in the tiny shower and there’s trash piled up outside the bathroom window. There’s no broom in the room - for a room on a sandy beach seems strange, and was frustrating considering we have children who also make messes when eating and we wanted to sweep up the sand and crumbs and not walk all over them. I asked the host a question about parking right after booking but she waited until 1 hour prior to check in time before responding to my question and with the check in info finally. It was very stressful waiting for her slow response considering we had a 10 hour drive to get there and I hadn't heard anything from her. I was fooled by the two 5 star reviews and wanted to leave my honest opinion because I wish there was a review with this information before I booked. Pros - the location is good. I’m glad we had so much fun in Lake Tahoe and didn’t have to stay in this smelly room for too long.

Did the job

Overall, this was the perfect place for us to stay at because we quite literally just wanted a place to sleep at night & didn’t really care about amenities or the accommodations experience. The room was exactly as described (hot plate & all) & the host was easy to communicate with (though we didn’t really need to talk that much because everything went smoothly). The only things we did notice were the fact that 1. There’s no broom available which is kind of silly since you’re beside beaches and a body of water. We had so much sand on our floor which is to be expected, but in order to clean it up we had to use our bath towels. Not the most convenient, but not an end all be all. 2. The dead bolt doesn’t lock all the way but fortunately the handle lock does work. 3. The TV didn’t seem to be functioning & wouldn’t let us change channels & just kept giving us a message about how Disney is restricting the channels available to ESPN watchers? Truly I don’t even know. Aside from those 3 really minuscule things though, this vrbo did what we needed it to do!
