Close to bourbon trail, hiking, fishing, with wonderful views of the Kentucky River and the foot of the Elkhorn Creek. House is over 100 years old with wonderful updates. Just 4 miles from West Sixth Brewery Farm and other great spots. Also only 37 miles to Ark Encounter. *We have been off the market since the flooding that occurred in the area in April 2025. We are are back up and running. Hence it has been a year since we have received any reviews. Welcome back.

We had a great time, the house was perfect for the 5 of us. We got into town a little earlier than expected by about an hour and 15 minutes, Donald was kind enough to let us check in early. That was very nice of him, and the kids were very appreciative. Great views, and it was quiet! The upstairs bedroom had a living space with a couch, games, and TV, perfect for the kids to relax in and unwind before bed!

Such a cool spot with amazing lake views! The house was wonderful and the host was very responsive. The only suggestion I have, which is very minor, is the back patio set up. If you are like us, my family loves to sit outdoors. The house did have a wonderful fire pit with chairs and such, further into the yard, however, sometimes we wanted to just walk out onto the back little patio and have coffee, or enjoy a glass of wine at night but there was no lighting outside at all and the back patio was a bit unkempt. The house and property is so beautiful, we definitely wanted to be outside a lot to enjoy. Otherwise, the stay was great and we will definitely be back! :)

Great Bourbon Trail Rental

This is a great location to bourbon trail stops with great views. Definitely recommend for smaller groups looking to explore the trail.

Great location to explore the Bourbon trail

House and location were beautiful. Location allowed us to stop at Buffalo Trace every morning for the bourbon of the day and explore other distilleries in the area. Enjoyed the time spent with our friends around the campfire each night and view of Kentucky river.

Bourbon Country River Home

Historic fish camp house nestled on the Kentucky River was a great stay for my wife and I as we explored the Bourbon Trail. Stayed for a week… quiet, secluded with views of the river yet only 10 minutes from Buffalo Trace. Check-in and check out was easy and all amenities as advertised. Great home if you’re lookin for an escape yet close enough to whatever you need.

Awesome Stay

This property was amazing! Great views, especially from the back looking at the river. Fantastic way to end the day on the bourbon trail. The property was close enough that we got to visit all of the distilleries we wanted to while also providing us a quiet area to relax and unwind. Would highly reccomend!

Fantastic view

We checked in and stayed there for five nights, this was a perfect place for us to stay for four adults, during the day we traveled all over the Bourbon Trail, and in the evenings we sat out by the fire over looking the river. The accommodations were perfect for all of us and the view was spectacular. I will be definitely booking this house again for a stay with friends as it was perfect for our trip.

Bourbon Country Stay

We stayed at the river house for one night during a girls trip to Kentucky Bourbon Country. The house was clean and orderly and the surrounding yard and views were beautiful. Would definitely stay here again and arrive at the house earlier in the day so that we could enjoy the surroundings more.

Property was amazing. Very clean, super easy booking, amazing price. The location is so perfect for Bourbon Trail and exploring Kentucky. We will be back for sure. The lightning bugs around the outdoor fireplace watching the river flow by was worth it alone!!!

Had a great time with friends at this property. Nice fire rings to relax by in the evening. Clean and comfortable. Everything you may need was there. Very close to Buffalo Trace and other bars in Frankfort. I would stay again.

Bourbon tour trip

Stayed with a few friends for a bourbon tour trip. Loved the location and the house was great. Donald was responsive to my questions as well. Would definitely recommend.

Buffalo Trace Tour Stay

Pleasantly surprised at the proximity to the distillery. The property was gorgeous with amazing views of the river. The house was very quaint with a great kitchen. There could be some additional cooking utensils provided but we were able to make do and perhaps have a layout of the cabinets (there’s tons of cabinet space so easy to get lost in them). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

My 40th Birthday Celebration

What a great time! Views for days and the weather was perfect. Drove from Indiana to do the bourbon trail and the location was great. Super close to Buffalo Trace. We hit up Main Street Cafe for breakfast The Stave for dinner. What a great trip. Looking to book again soon!

Lovely Spot

We went down here to do some of the bourbon trail activities. The convenience of the house was perfect for us. The view is really lovely, and the house is great. It's an older house that has some charm to it. We used the fire pit and appreciated that there was plenty of wood available!
