Property Description:

Newport Beach Bungalow is a cozy and thoughtfully designed home. This property is walking distance to the beach and many restaurants, shopping boutiques, tourist attractions, bars and live music this area is famous for, including Lido Village Marina and the Newport Pier. It offers functionality with contemporary interior design, lots of natural light, a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom, and a spacious front patio with a BBQ and outdoor dining area. Smart TV and high speed WIFI are provided.

Neighborhood Description:

Surf and sand are just down the street – you can see the beach from the road. This part of the beach tends to be more private than the main municipal beach, so enjoy the quieter side of seaside living!

Duffy rentals for the Newport Harbor are available nearby, so you can also take a cruise on the water while you’re here. In addition, you can plan a bonfire at night. There are fire pits available in Balboa Beach for you to enjoy.

Multiple restaurants are within easy walking distance of the home, including high-end establishments like Mayor’s Table, Nobu, and Fable & Spirit, as well as local favorites like Mama D’s, The Cannery, Lighthouse CafĂ© and Lido Bottle Works. The Lido Marina Village offers several luxury boutiques and ocean front restaurants too.

Within easy driving distance is Fashion Island and Balboa Island for the shoppers, and the Upper Newport Bay for those who like to walk and paddle board. Crystal Cove State Park is only about 15 minutes south on PCH and is well worth the visit.

Awesome location

Couldn’t pick a better location. We parked and didn’t have to leave for the entire weekend, we walked to the beach (2 short blocks), to pizza (Laventina’s is tremendous), to Malarkey’s Irish pub for breakfast and Mama D’s, by far the best Italian in Newport!! Love this place, the town, everything. Will return for sure!!

Excellent little home

We were very happy with this home! It is in an excellent location. We plan to book it again in the future. The only two minor problems were that the house either needs a full-sized broom or a little cordless vacuum. Also the shampoo and conditioner containers were tiny and really hard to squeeze anything out of. So, we ended up needing to buy some at the grocery store- no big deal!

Bungalow Impostor

Sadly opening up the door to this beach bungalow revealed many deceptions. Smaller than the hotel room we had come from to spend our four days there was no way 4 could function there! Two of us was a stretch! The bed pushed against the wall unlike the picture representing it left no way to get out of bed. The rooms were dark. We were greeted with countless rules in their binder that threatened fines if we did not adhere and had poor and unresponsive communication from the host. After a very unsatisfying AI communication we walked away from this rental and flew home early. They said they would refund our cleaning fee charge of 250 but went back on their word. We've had lots of good VRBO experiences over the years and hope for more success the next time.

Sleepless in Newport

Prior to arrival I contacted the property owner to find out how to get in and got no response either through VRBO or the number in the listing. When we arrived at 3, I called the number in the listing and it was disconnected, so I started to think I was scammed. I finally got a text from a random number with a long list of rules and the access code. I let her know the number in the listing was wrong and she said the oops the area code was not right. Anyway we got access, the front fence is wobbly and the gate drags, but why use the gate when you can just walk through the area with missing fence. The place is clean and it is noted in the laundry list of rules to keep sand swept up, but a broom is not provided. Just a dust pan. It does have AC, but this is just in the back room and is a window unit that is noisy and drips condensation onto the bed pushed against the wall. No worries, you can just open the windows. Nope the windows are mostly painted shut except for the front east and west. The east window won't stay open and the west window stays open on it's own. The bed is firm but the pillows are soft. The sofa bed is extra firm and uncomfortable. The water pressure is good and the water is hot in the shower so no issues except that the shower fixture is loose. The toilet paper roll holder is also loose. If you plan to cook here, bring your own skillets, bakeware, cutting boards, and knives. It's a great street, but there are better rentals from what I saw

Location, Location, Location

This is a great property located in Newport Beach. Once we parked we never drove again. You can walk to the Grocery store and restaurants at the Pavilion's. Eat fresh tacos and burritos at Sancho's, and walk to the Pier where they got it all. You can see the ocean from the Patio (if you stand up), and is about 1 minute walk or less to the sand. You can do several loads of laundry at the laundry mat that is right around the corner. We had no issues. The patio is a great place to sit and watch people walk to the beach. All the neighbors were great and friendly. Parking gets busy but wasn't an issue. Spots open up all day long. Inside was clean and very kid friendly. Had the doors and windows open which provided great airflow. The kitchen is large and provided all the necessary supplies needed. The bathroom and shower were clean and provided plenty of space. The TV had all the apps to keep the kids occupied when needed. They provide beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella which was nice. During the stay I had to text and call the host. They answer immediately and solved the problem above and beyond. We will be coming back for a longer stay soon.
