16 Mile Lake Getaway-Lakefront with Water Toys & Family Time Around a Fire

This cottage on the lake is an all sports lake setting just 10 miles southwest of Munising. Close to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore yet away from all the hustle and bustle. Enjoy quiet nights at the campfire stargazing and fun in the sun on the lake whether it's swimming, fishing or kayaking. There is 3 Queen beds, the 3rd bedroom is a pass-through bedroom. Home features a firepit, dock, propane grill and water toys (paddle boat, paddle board and kayaks) available for guest use. Toys are shared with owners next door. Pack your bags for the week and enjoy this cozy cabin on the lake. No pets please.

***Please note, this is well water and while it is safe to drink, it does have a smell to it.

***Door code will be released the day of check-in for security purposes.

***If you are booking through Airbnb or VRBO you will receive a separate contract from Pictured Rocks Vacation Rentals. In order to receive check-in information you will be required to sign this.

Peaceful, comfortable stay

We loved the view and peaceful setting (stayed in October). We found the home very well equipped to make our stay comfortable. We had 3 teens, two parents, and a 1 yr old in pack n play. Teens loved being able to kayak on the lake. We would come again.

Great, secluded house

The house was clean, spacious and had all the amenities for a no hassle stay. The only problem I experienced was that the property manager tried sending me paperwork and it wouldn't come through. We had a blast and would definitely stay in the house again. I can't wait until our next visit!

All the water toys were in good shape, we brought fishing gear we didn't need.I would download offline maps if you use google maps, the cell service is lacking but google maps gets you right to the house if you've downloaded.We brought drinking water as the other reviews explained the well water - and they were correct.I would stay again - loved the remote location.

Great Place!!!!

Great place, despite a visit from a mouse! Lol The cabin was very clean, it had everything we needed, except for mouse traps and it could've used a few more fans. My kids loved using the kayaks and fishing poles! We were close to town and spent a lot of much needed family time and got to relax. The owners were very nice when they came out about the break in. We definitely want to rent this cabin again next Summer! Really great experience!

UP Falls and Color Tour

Owners, Robin and Jim, were quite accommodating when we got there, no power due to a downed power line. Next day, toilet broke they went got parts fixed before we returned from hiking. Amazing views with a quirky bedroom layout. Loved the two seated path to a bath. Wish had more time to enjoy! !potty.

Beautiful lake!!It was a good location for us! The water smell is a bit strong but was warned by owner in description so we were prepared for that. Plenty of everything we needed including coffee pods, towels, linens, etc. Very nice relaxing cabin! I would recommend! Also, rental company was very responsive after informing them that we had not gotten email with door code. The lady at rental company immediately emailed us the info.

It does have a folding door between the two. The lake was wonderful and very close to Munising to do all the tourist activities in town. I highly recommend Main Street Pizza in town (if they are open, staffing shortages). I would recommend this cottage for your UP stay! Four out of Five stars! Lovely view, nice facilities but whomever was there last did not do a very good job washing the dishes. Otherwise everything was clean and I was highly satisfied.

Comfortable and Convenient

The setting is very nice, as it's situated on a small lake. Watching the sun light up the water and/or morning mist from the living room was very nice. The house was spacious enough for the two or us, and conveniently located to places we wanted to visit. The only problem we experienced was with mice. The property managers were informed about the issue and placed traps in the property, which caught one of the mice. Another mouse was seen in the house on the last day of our stay after this one was removed, but the property managers assured me they would continue to work on correcting the problem. I trust that they were able to revolve this. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay here.
