Located on a small and quiet town of Guayacanes. Just less than 2 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants, 20 minutes from the International Airport of the Americas, 45 minutes from the city center of Santo Domingo, one hour and half from Punta Cana and much more!

BEAUTIFUL- for about 12 hours...

Pros: The pictures in the listing is what you're going to get. Cleanliness was good. If you're just going with your family and don't plan to leave a 5 mile radius around your room, this might be a good pick, subject to the cons below.Cons: 1. Communication: when I initially selected the room I had no idea it was basically a 40-minute drive- to anything. I sent a message well before I showed up and got zero responses until right before my trip. Those issues persevered; the owner even claimed to have "broke" her phone at one point. 2. Security: the property is surrounded by a cast iron security fence that can only be operated with a button or key. You are not given a clicker or key to the outside gate. This means you need to find the gate operator somewhere on the property if you want to enter or leave. There were several times I had to stand outside of the gate and yell at the top of my lungs until the guy showed up. If you plan to go out at night you better pray he's awake when you come back to the property or else you're not getting in. Location: it's a 45 minute drive to Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo. It's about a 30-minute drive to Pedro de Macoris. That's an expensive taxi. If you plan to do anything or go anywhere it's going to cost a lot. The beach next to the room has its benefits, and a few decent restaurants, but got old after about 48 hours. I left 4 days early; and true to form- the owner was magically unavailable toanswerany of my communications.

The Guayacanes

The Guayacanes unit was clean on arrival, but the windows were filthy and had to be cleaned by us. No cleaning supplies were provided for our 10-day stay, and each bathroom had only two rolls of toilet paper with no extras. The pool was dirty and only cleaned and filtered after repeated complaints.While the photos are mostly accurate, the property is noticeably worn. Furniture was stained, some items were broken, the hammock was missing, and there were water issues—no or minimal hot water in parts of the unit and low pressure overall. We had to boil water for dishes and take coolish showers. Most stove burners barely worked, and the primary bedroom fan switch was awkwardly placed behind the bed headboard.The nearby beach was rocky and littered, so we walked the 17 minutes to Guayacanes Beach instead. Instructions for the unit were a confusing mix of Spanish and English, and communication with the host stopped midway through our stay.A serious issue occurred when we couldn’t exit the property due to a locked gate and no staff present—an elderly resident happened to hear us and came to let us out. This was a major safety concern.On the plus side, the beds were comfortable, the view was gorgeous and the unit spacious. However, poor maintenance, weak communication, and safety issues made for a disappointing stay.

Peaceful and Homely Abode

Place is pleasantly quiet and clean. I was extremely amazed by how peaceful the environment was. I did not feel like wanting to leave. It felt just like home.
