Our 1930's decor reflects the culture of the working class gold miners of the 1930's and 40's who once made Wells the largest city in BC north of Vancouver! You rent the whole cottage with 3 queens, two twins, two baths, a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, two porches and its own fenced yard.

You'll be in walking distance of all of Wells' galleries, shops and theatres, just 5 minutes from Barkerville Historic Park, and a wildlife-filled 25 minute drive to Bowron Lake. Book the original Mountain Thyme Guesthouse or the restored Willow River Inn for private vacation home experiences, with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and cooking and eating areas. Great for socializing or spreading out your stuff. For couples we also suggest the ForgetMeNot Suite, with its own balcony, small kitchen and seating area overlooking Slide Mountain, or the Fireweed Room, a private room with seating area and queen sized bed.

Wells is a historic Gold mining town in the Cariboo Mountains. 80 km east of Quesnel on BC's Gold Rush Trail. We're the gateway to to Barkerville Historic Park, the Bowron Lake Canoe Circuit and the Cariboo Mountains. Wells was the largest town in BC north of Hope as late as the 1950's! Today, the tiny town that remains retains its historic charm and period architecture and is now renowned for our Arts, History and Culture.
