Exotic family getaway private eco Log cabin near Volcano Park
We love to share, our sweet and simple gated private lodge with kitchen and a full indoor bathroom with Ohia log touches not far from Volcanoes National Park. We offer a unique and log cabin style to stay at Big Island. Relax and recharge at the end of the day.
The cabin was beautiful and thoughtfully designed. I loved the rain shower and the gas fireplace was perfect on chilly mornings. Clean, comfortable and cozy! We had no problem finding it and getting in, even though we arrived after dark. Perfect location for exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (only 10-15 minutes from the park entrance).
The cabin was clean, comfortable and was equipped with everything you could possibly need. It was a convenient location for our visit to Volcano National Park.
The fireplace ignited with ease the first night but wouldn't do so the following day. We assumed the gas had run out and managed to change cylinders without issue.
We were blown away by the off-grid efficiency of this 100% Solar-powered cabin. It was clean, comfortable, and very well apportioned with full-size appliances, cookware, etc. The signage and over-use of a label maker was a bit weird and off putting, bordering obsessive. But, I understand the ownerâs intent to protect their property⊠but, it was a bit much.
Aloha Lodge was the perfect location for our trip to Volcano National Park. Short distance to park and not far from Hilo and Pahoa. Extremely clean and comfortable. After a long day of exploring itâs the perfect place to relax and unwind. Would stay there again if in the area.
We stayed at this property for only about two hours before leaving due to a serious safety incident. Upon reporting a strong propane/gas smell outside, the host and his wife arrived at the cabin unannounced, blocked our car in, and began shouting aggressively. The host appeared intoxicated and produced a firearm, waving it around and pointing it toward propane canisters. We feared for our safety, called 911, and immediately left the property to stay at a hotel that night.Vrboâs Resolution Team is now handling the case. I hope this listing is reviewed thoroughly so no other guests have to experience what we did.
The cabin was very nice. It is entirely solar powered and the water is filtered rain water. It was a very private area except there was another person living behind the cabin who used the same driveway for access. Also, the road to the cabin was very rough. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
Frankly the building didnât look that spiffy from the outside, but was very nice inside. Everything we needed. Loved that it was off grid with solar and rainwater, without feeling like we were skimping at all. Would highly recommend! We also felt it was very reasonably priced.
The property was hard to find. The directions off this site and gps are different. I was confused because I saw another vehicle on property. It was the live in manager. We had our privacy and it was great to get away. We plan on staying again.
GPS didnât take us to the home. Coming in after dark, in the rain and a long travel day made this a challenge. The home was very cute and met our needs since we werenât planning to cook. Lovely setting and close to Volcano Natl Park.
Very nice home, the home is fully solar-powered and uses filtered rainwater throughout, which was really cool. Roads to get there were a little difficult to navigate in a rental car.
We had a fabulous stay and absolutely loved the cabin's lanais, all the natural light, the kitchen, propane fireplace, open concept, and wood features. The cabin was easy to get to and the access road is well maintained. We enjoyed cooking dinners every night and even enjoyed some cocktails out on the lanai using the stemware provided. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Once we found the place the stay was great. Finding it in the dark was a challenge. The GPS said 1/4 mile in but it was actually .6 of a mile. Look for the white surf board at the end of the driveway.
Great location for all we wanted to do on this trip to the Volcano area. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing our meals. The bed and the reclining chairs were super comfortable after our active days! Fun to be using only solar power and rainwater, and our rainstorms were mostly at night! Would rent this property again in a heartbeat. Be sure to pay attention to owner's directions and not Google maps!
Beautiful home in the middle of the jungle. Listening to the birds singing at night was magical! Two nights was certainly not enough. Super polite and accommodating owners. GPS location is true. Undoubtedly recommend. Strategically locate between Hilo and the Volcanoes park and other big island sightseeing locations! Mahalo and Aloooooha!
Yes, we took a wrong turn and got lost like so many others. So look for Mauna Kea Drive and a camouflaged red and yellow sign that says "Aloha Estate". When we arrived in the pouring rain, it was cold and damp. The propane stove (sans shield and vent) was somewhat warming but we didn't feel safe keeping it on. And while there were three remote controls chained to the table, there were no instructions for cable/satellite/DVD player and which remote was for which. Turns out they have Starllink but who knew?
Bed was comfortable. Neighbors were running a generator and blasted music in the middle of the night which could be heard over the pouring rain.
I wish I could post photos for future visitors so they don't miss the turn. I'd recommend owners post the pics for future visitors.

Beautiful but not functional
This property is absolutely adorable once you can actually get there. There are definitely some improvements that need to made. The address isn't real... It doesn't come up on any maping program. The check in time is after 5 pm this place is not the easiest to find in the dark and you should probably have an SUV or your rental car might suffer damage because the roads are NOT paved at all. The listing says it has TV which it technically does but the TV is not hooked up to any service. The property management only left 2 towels so you need to buy or bring your own beach towel. They also do not have anything besides salt and creamer in the house so buy your own coffee because they don't even provide any for the 2 coffee makers. The host also does not provide soap for the shower so once again buy your own. The shower is beautiful but it isn't very functional either the rainfall watering doesn't provide you with any room to soap off. The property itself is just lovely and cute as could be but I really don't recommend this place.
