Gorgeous space with incredible amenities within walking distance of Cable Car Museum (2 min), Chinatown (3 min), Union Square (15 min), Fisherman's Wharf (23 min). Backyard with night light display and beautiful plantings. Fast internet, oversize cable TV. Nob Hill Cafe, 7 Hills Restaurant, and Le Beau groceries just steps away. Alfred Hitchcock filmed his opening scene to Vertigo atop our building. Our street is flat 2-3 blocks in either direction. We are on Nob Hill so there are many sloping streets nearby with the opportunity to get exercise! There are steps going down to the apartment: 5 then 1 then 2 then 4.

the perfect spot

Ray was wonderful and so was the place and stay. It was our first time visiting SFO and we got so lucky, you want to stay here :) Central spot to so many things!

The best Vrbo experience

This property was the best stay in San Fran. The owner Ray is incredible with communication and setting you up for everything you need. This property is beautiful with an incredible interior. This was a home away from home. The wife and I will be staying here again. This was an incredible stay.

And a Premier property

We stay in a lot of VRBO‘s and this is one of the best. Everything from the location to the communication with Ray and all of the amenities were absolutely perfect. The backyard patio was phenomenal and Everything about the apartment was wonderful. Ray pays attention to every detail and he clearly takes pride in making sure that you have a comfortable stay.

Best VRBO ever

We had an amazing stay - the apartment is on a lovely street on Nob Hill, with a prime location between cable car routes. Ray is a consummate host, and the apartment is immaculate and full of thoughtful, top-of-the-line features, including comfortable beds and soft linens. We enjoyed hanging out at the property and walking down to the Marina, Chinatown, and catching the cable car to Union Square.

Fantastic location and Great host

This is a lovely space equipped with everything we needed. The location is amazing! My husband and I were able to walk to so many places nearby Ray is great. He provided valuable information and wonderful suggestions. Speaking of which, I highly recommend a bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as a visit to Caffe Greco for a superb cappuccino. We will plan to stay here next time we visit!

Perfect Location in SF

Ray's place on Nob Hill is perfect! It is quiet and comfortable after a long day traversing the hills of SF! The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfy. Shower pressure is wonderful as well. Ray was wonderful to communicate. You can't beat the location. Close to China Town, North Beach, Mission District, and Union Square. All a must to see!

The stay was EXCELLENT!! Ray was very helpful throughout the process.

The unit was very clean, well organized. There was a very big patio with heater. Totally unexpected to see this kind of unit in the middle of San Francisco, strongly recommend to anybody, Cable cat was right there - as soon as you come out of the unit.

Stunning unit

I absolutely loved my stay here. The entire place is beautiful and the attention to detail is superb. The bed is super comfortable, the shower is wonderful, the kitchen has all the gadgets you can think of, and the gorgeous patio is an added bonus. The unit’s high ceilings makes it feel even bigger than what it is. Also, it’s located in a great neighborhood with the public transportation located near by. And the hosts really made our experience enchanting; I would love to stay here again. 5 stars all the way!

Already booked the next stay!

My son lives a few blocks from this location and so was a perfect location for me. The owner Ray is as nice as they come, very accommodating and responsive. There are a couple of nice restaurants for dinner within a block or so and also a 2 breakfast spots right next to each other a block away. All of which were easy walks in a city that isn't always easy to walk. The apartment is very clean, well equipped and appointed. There is a nice, private back patio to sit in the nice weather and helps give the apartment an open, spacious feeling.

Wonderful, wonderful place and location.

Wow!! What a find!!! Location, location, location. There are cable car tracks at either end of the street. Such fun to catch those and also to see them full of people and hear the cable car bells ringing. I could walk everywhere and I did. Buena Vista for Irish Coffee at Fisherman’s Wharf, SOMA for movies, North Beach for Italian food, Chinatown for Chinese food, and restaurants right around the corner. The unit is so very elegant and well set up. I felt completely at home. A huge TV with all the channels I needed (incl Netflix and other subscriptions) with Sonos surround sound. The tub/shower – OMG – the best ever. The kitchen is BIG with a center island, perfect for my meals and food prep. Everything is so new and well done. The host, Ray, met me at the door and gave me the door codes. It feels good not to have to use keys. Ray was very solicitous and nice, making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Traveling as a solo woman, I felt completely safe in both the neighborhood and the apartment. Five Stars!! *****

Wonderful condo, great neighborhood!

The is the BEST place we’ve found to stay in SF! The apartment is cozy, beautiful, and very clean. The neighborhood really stands out with it’s walkability and the iconic cable car just at the end of the block. We’ll be back on our next trip for sure!

We built this home and have owned it for 17 years. My wife and I are retired now and are roaming the world and sailing the 7 seas in our boat, including San Francisco Bay. We love to host new people and allow them to find the sights, pleasures, and joys of San Francisco. We first moved here in 1976, moved to the country to raise our boys, and returned to our beloved SF (don't call it "Frisco"! :) when our boys formed their own families.

My wife loves art -- she is an art history MA. I love sailing anywhere in the world and meeting people. We both love being with our kids and grandkids. I grew up in California as a country boy whilst my wife is a Brooklynite. She loves reading and book clubs. I love projects and connecting.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

Our home is the bottom level of a 4-story building built in 1908. EVERYTHING in the building has been redone, down to the pipes and electrical wires. You won't find old, danky kitchen drawers or grimy bathtubs here. Everything sparkles! Plus! -- it has a fabulous history as being the "Vertigo Building" -- where Alfred Hitchcock filmed the opening scene to the famous Vertigo movie on our roof.

Why do you want to come here? The bed is incredibly comfortable -- an expensive Casper mattress. The location can't be beat if you want to be in the middle of everything or hop a cable car. The cable car at one end of the street goes up, the other end of the street has a down cable car. Don't like cable cars? We walk everywhere here, from downtown, to North Beach, to Chinatown, to shopping, to Union Street, to the Mission. If you like walking exercise, you'll get plenty walking the hills around our place although our street is level 2-3 blocks in either direction.

Another reason you want to come here... it's not your typical short-term rental. We live here but it's not chock-a-block full of our stuff. Plenty, plenty of space for your things to be unpacked. It's chic and stylish. Want to cook? Welcome to a chef's kitchen! Want a good shower or bath? Welcome to possible the best shower you'll ever have. Need to wash a lot of clothes from days of travel? Welcome to a full size washer/dryer.
