Thank you for your feedback! We are glad you enjoyed the ocean views, amenities, deck seating, beach gear, and great shower water pressure. We are sorry that some aspects fell short. Your notes on the mattresses, kitchen inventory, and garage ventilation have been shared with our team and the homeowner. Items like can openers often break without our knowledge. Had you alerted us during your stay, we would have delivered a replacement immediately. The same applies to the pests. The property has regular preventative pest control treatments. However, the Outer Banks recently had unusual wetness and humidity, which drives out local palmetto bugs. They are common to this coastal environment and often mistaken for roaches, but we understand it is unsettling. We would have gladly sent our pest control company out to assist you right away had we known. Regarding the layout, this is a multi-level beach home, so extra supervision is recommended for very young children on the stairs. Your input helps us improve. I am very happy to say we have made changes to our staff and, now provide linen guest bags with toiletries and garbage bags are not used but included with your welcome kit. As soon as we were made aware of the A/C malfunction, we acted quickly to provide window units and fans to make the property as comfortable as possible while awaiting repair, which, as confirmed by the HVAC technician, was unfortunately not an immediate fix. We do our best to balance responsiveness with guest comfort, even in situations outside of our control, such as a system failure. Regarding compensation, we offered a goodwill gesture in alignment with company policy, not to diminish your concerns, but to reflect the steps taken to address the situation during your stay. We acknowledge that not every solution will feel adequate when expectations fall short—especially during a vacation. As for the comment about our staff, including myself, we always strive to treat guests with respect and professionalism, even during difficult conversations. We regret if your interaction felt otherwise. Lastly, our housekeeping team may stage supplies in advance for efficiency, but guests are always entitled to full privacy and enjoyment of the property until their designated check-out time. The bags being left outside should not have interfered with your privacy. We truly appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving our service.
